I recommend hogs breath café in joondalup, Service was excellent you won’t be waiting around for a waitress to take your order they get onto it pretty quick. Staff were polite and friendly, food was delicious and it didn’t take long to get our meals, cocktails were yummy! Music wasent too loud & I liked the old school 70s music they played. The only critics I will say is the meat wasent hot enough & I’ve noticed this to be true for all hogs breath cafes in perth, and the cheesy garlic bread wasent cooked enough so the bread didn’t really taste as toasted as it should.

Had the«Boss Hog Ribs» at Hog’s Breath in Joondalup on Tuesday. The meat was just falling off the bone. It was so tender, and the sauce was just perfection. The wait staff were extremely friendly, and the atmosphere was amazing.

I go here regularly when my dad visits as he says you can’t get a better steak. I haven’t tried the steak but they have a good selection and the prices are great. Massive menu with something for everyone. They do good nachos too. I usually get chicken of some sort(you can choose crumbed or grilled). All mains come with a choice of mash or their famous(and delicious) curly fries, and either salad or cooked vegetables. Alcohol is reasonably priced too. Great for families.

Went to Hogs Breath for a birthday we booked a table for 7pm we sat down and we were not served in until 7:45 once we did get served the waiter asked if we wanted entrees we said no and he told us that we weren’t aloud to order our mains because it’s to busy. We waited and waited until we asked the waiter to serve us this was at 8 o’clock. Smaller tables got their food before us even when we got there got before them, We finally got our food half an hour later and our orders were all wrong and cold. Unfortunately we left unhappy.

After three years away working in NZ, we couldn’t wait to get back to Hoggies — one of our favourite places to grab an informal and quick meal. How disappointed were we when we went there last Saturday … The staff were so unfriendly that we almost felt that we had to apologise for interrupting their day. The food was luke warm, and my hogtail fries looked like the dregs off another diners plate … My husbands meal was served in a large bowl, so the salad dressing on the mound of lettuce made everything on the plate soggy and taste like, well … Salad dressing! When we asked if the business had perhaps changed hands, as the standard was so far below what we remembered, the rude and disinterested duty manager made comments that had us feeling sorry that we had returned to her establishment. Sorry Hogs Breath Joondalup, we cherish our memory of what you used to be, but we won’t be returning.

I came here for a Monday lunch with my daughter, the food is not too bad, but unfortunately I can not say the same for the wait staff! Particularly the middle aged woman, grumpy & just not pleasant! We all have to work in some way or another, so best they drop the attitude. Bad wait staff is a quick way to loose returning customers!!!

I have always loved a Hoggy’s steak and have eaten at many of these casual restaurants around the country. The steak is normally always what you’d expect, deliciously tender, succulent and moist. I have only ever had a couple of memorable average steaks after a hundred visits. Byron Bay NSW was the first to serve me a bad steak, and Chermside QLD did the same once upon a time too… Fortunately, Hogs breath Café Joondalup met my expectations on more than one occasion. However there is one thing I’ve noticed that is unique about the service in this Hogs Breath restaurant. Once you have experienced it, you’ll KNOW what I’m talking about. I’ve never experienced such salesmanship from waitstaff… they must have some Key Performance Indicators that they give to their staff on side orders because they will throw everything at you when you take your order in a leading and very pushy fashion… «Yes… and you’ll have the avocado with that… and the cheesy sauce on your veges, along with another sauce to go with your steak. «– because that hickory smoked tex mex steak doesn’t have enough sauce on it already. NOT! At this restaurant it is all about the upsell folks. They got me the first time as I placated with Yes, Yes, Yes to get the annoying person out of my face without the consideration of the extra charges they were going to put on my bill… Yes, those extra’s are not complimentary… Look out! On a subsequent visit I said no to everything and left the waiter in a bit of a state… uhmmm… «so you don’t want anything else… uhmmm did I ask that before.?» scratching his head he walked away with a standard order on his pad. The food arrived. And it was excellent. My only gripe is their wait staff seem to be deviating too strongly towards up-selling rather than servicing…

I went with a large group for a birthday and we found service to be really slow. It was 1 hour and two drinks until they came for our food order. The food came out faster than expected, perhaps because the remainder of the restaurant had been served already. The servings were large, I had the ‘lite’ portion size with a side and was full. The sundae was a meal in itself! A good place if you have a really large mixed group but I can’t see myself going there on a date or with my girlfriends.

The current lobster offer is quite pricey. Not worth it in my opinion. The service is quite good and the food is mostly deep fried but if you’re hungry you’re likely to walk away satisfied and your wallet a little lighter than you expected. One of the large sunday’s is massive and loaded with sugar bliss.

Hogs Breath for me = curly fries. I have had them at other places, they don’t taste the same. I have bought them from the supermarket, they don’t taste the same.Dammit. So if I want curly fries I have to go to Hogs Breath. It helps that the food is relatively good value. Get yourself a frequent diner card and get 25% off every meal, makes it even better value. The food is pretty good. I can only just get through a lite cut steak as the portions are big. The walls are covered with American licence plate numbers and on weekends this place is full of rowdy kids and adults. But not a bad place to go for a steak and of course the curly fries.

Hog’s Breath Café is actually not about meat purveyed from pigs. The name is a bit of a misnomer — the focus of Hog’s Breath is their beef. Proudly painted on their windows are notes about how the beef is slow-roasted over twelve hours before being served at tables. Entering Hog’s Breath is like entering a kitsch themed piece of Americana. There are old licence plates and road signs dotting the entrance and ceiling, and there are also old-fashioned booths against the walls for seating. While there’s a fun atmosphere at Hog’s Breath, the steak is over-rated. While it sounds delectable, having being slow-roasted for twelve hours, the actual result is underwhelming. The beef is tough, lacks flavour and is dry. While the portions are generous, eating the steak is akin to eating a warm, leathery shoe. There are much nicer eateries around Joondalup than Hog’s Breath.

I am a big fan of the Hog’s Breath steak, especially the slow cooked prime rib. They are large and full of flavour. The curly fries are crispy, just how I like them. I don’t mind the Rocky Road Sundae, but after a steak I even struggle to finish it off. The cocktails are pretty average, but that’s ok, because the steak is the main event. The staff are friendly, the atmosphere relaxed and comfortable. They can be on the slow side to get your food on the table, even on the quieter days. For the food it is slightly on the expensive side, but I have a frequent diner card that gets me a 25% discount, which makes it more reasonable.

I really enjoy hogs breathe is could be the good childhood memories, countless birthdays dinners and just the good times I seem to have every time there, whatever the reason may be I never pass up the opportunity. The prices are pretty low, the portions are massive, the food is GOOD, they serve alcohol and the theme is American. Although the same in every hogs breathe, I really enjoy the theme. The old American number plates although probably mass produces pieces of plastic, look cool and look as though they are original expensive pieces. I always order the same thing and it has never let me down. And for me the best thing of all are the curly fries! If nothing else I have written sounds good, let me tell you this, go simply for the curly fries. If any of you don’t like them I will jump out a plane, with no parachute. I just don’t think anyone couldn’t. On that note, I really want some.

To be honest, it’s not the best food I’ve even had in my life but it’s pretty decent and you won’t pay a fortune for it. I like going there because of the comfortable booth, the gorgeous steaks and the curly fries, but the cheap prices also beckon to the stinge within. I’ve been to a few Hogs around Perth, but Joondalup remains my favourite to this day.
