Let me begin by saying that any pub that has a salad(or veggie) bar always gets extra points from me — so the OG was off to an excellent start to begin with. We came here on a Thursday night and although their ‘special cheap nights’ are now $ 10.50, it’s still a great bargain — there is a $ 10.50 special every night of the week except Friday and Saturday. As I mentioned, we were there on a Thursday — schnitzel night! Good times! Only a dollar extra for topping — winning! In my opinion, the veggie and salad bar were excellent — so many tasty and fresh options and you definitely couldn’t complain about the price! My chicken parmi didn’t take too long to hit the table(we were there later in the evening at around 8.30, so had missed the main rush) but there were still good options available and good service. I would certainly return — because a good salad bar always wins me over!

I ate here on a Thursday night which happens to be their schnitzel specials night! For $ 9.95 we got a good sized meal with access to the self serve salad and vegetable bar. The choice of salads and vegetables was ok and typical pub style meal. The dining room was very busy but we got seats fine. There is also a front bar with dining area and an outdoor all weather area. Parking was hard and very busy as football practice was on at the oval next to the hotel and it was busy inside.

As a former employee as this hotel let me say that I never have worked in a pub where a head chef is so flexible to anyone’s dietary requirements. I remember one busy Thursday night we had a woman request if we could do her daughters chips another way other than deep fried. Head chef Darren was excellent and cooked the girls chips in the oven, yes they took a bit longer but they were pleased an happy to wait that little bit extra. I have no qualms in going there to eat or for a quiet bevvie. I am still in the industry and as it is all day dining I sometimes go there to order my lunch. Loved working there and going there for a meal. Renovations are great and front bar is ideal for small intimate groups of friends as there are many TVs and books and crannies. I remember working there when the soccer was on and we had groups of ppl watching on all the screens. These were my favourite times to work as the clients were pumped to watch Australia and I was enjoying their vibes. For me the OG hotel is the best pub along the North East Road strip!

I have driven past this pub for almost 30 years and never thought to stop in until it came up as a schnitzel suggestion in Unilocal.I now know that I’ve been missing it out. The food was great, the atmosphere was excellent(particularly in the undercover outdoor area), the prices were more than reasonable and the service was not only prompt but also very friendly and welcoming. Everything a great local pub should be!

Staff here are pretty friendly, and are quick to serve you. The atmosphere is warm and friendly, with ample seating — the O. G is pretty clean and like most pubs along this road offer a decent salad bar. Sadly that’s where the positives end for me: I ordered the Panko chicken, described as chicken stuffed with creamy garlic sauce and chives. I love my creamy buttery garlic sauce and so jumped at the chance to eat it. I got to enjoy a 20 Minute wait for old, stale half cold chips hmmm. Could have given me the courtesy of cooking new chips, especially in that time frame. There were chives but a distinct lack of garlic and butter in my Panko chicken, the chicken was dry and the ‘crispy batter’ wasn’t crispy but a kid between battery-slimy I wasn’t sue what was going on! Over all good service, location, and clean environment — probably good for a couple drinks but I would go elsewhere for a meal.

This is a nice pub to have lunch at, the atmosphere is pleasant and quiet, with mostly seniors enjoying cheap eats. The food is a reasonable price and nice really, an array of salads and veggies are available, they have lots of beers on tap and know what sparkling water is. This pub is a long way from where we live, but had to be on this side of town and was pleasantly surprised. Pokies are available if you like that type of thing. Parking is easy and plentiful out the back. I would go again of I need to be in the vicinity of this establishment. Staff are friendly and accommodation, however there are very few vegetarian or vegan options here, so avoid if you are either of them really. Although not much of a drinker myself I noticed the wine list is good for a pub really.

Huge fan of their schnitzels which are the best I have had in Adelaide. I think the pricing is just a touch too high for a suburban pub, but it seems a lot of places are renovating and going this way. They have a salad bar and a wide range of sauces and toppings for the schnitzels, plus a great outdoor area that I look forward to utilising in the warmer months.

There are about 5 pubs on this small stretch of Nth East Rd, and the OG is ok, but nothing out of the ordinary. It has a very long street frontage, with a couple of building types kind of mashed together, a nice new bottle shop on site and lots of parking. The bistro is quite nice, on par with the Windsor and Hampstead, but the décor and feel inside is probably nicer than either of them. The beer garden area is decked out well and is a good quiet place to spend a Sunday arvo. The crowd is a little old and local, and there isn’t really any nightlife to speak of. But no bad experiences here, a nice suburban pub with good cheap food and beer.

The Og Hotel is so much bigger than I thought it would be, with a really nice sized bistro area. It seems like it could be a very popular place, as on a Thursday night at 6pm there were already a lot of reserved tables. What I loved in particular was that there was Carlton Dry on special, rather than the usual West End and Coopers. Also, we were able to look through into a cool room filled with kegs, which I thought was an interesting touch that I had never seen before. I quite liked the atmosphere here.

Anyone who says mixed netball is stupid, or for sissy’s litterally has no idea. Firstly it is MIXED netball… scantilly clad chicks running around and bumping into you. Ya, that just sucks! Anywho, back on track, after I play my Sunday night mixed netball game I head over to the OG hotel for a cheeky Pint and a good feed(if I have stopped puffing in time). Wait, I hear you all say, how could you go to a nice pub like the OG all sweaty and smelly? Well firstly I smell Gooooood! Secondly, I really don’t care, and thirdly they have a sensational semi-outdoor paved patio area with industrial fans and plasma screens! Booyah! It is like they rang me and said«What would you like to see at our pub»! When you venture inside(where they keep the beer), you will notice a sizeable meals area(restaurant) decked out to suit the family/casual client, with a pokie area tucked around the corner. But if you follow the ‘hallowed’ wooden hallway to the left you will find a really sweet sports bar. I am usually not a big fan of modern looking front bars, but this one isn’t too shabby. For a subburban pub, not known for too much other than being where it is, the food is very good. I am a particular fan of the Chicken Ceasar Salad. It’s massive and one of the few ‘healthy’ options that I give thumbs up!
