I love this park. It is literally just across the road from my place. It’s always full of people walking their dogs, playing in the fantastic playground some playthings made from natural materials. A great undercover area for gatherings and a Bbq area. Around the park is a walkway which includes circuit training with varying gym machines which use your own body weight against you. The grounds are beautiful full of giant gum trees where you can spot the occasional koala. It also hosts a sports club with a tennis court basketball court and football field. Around the walkways are fallen trees which have been handcarved into beautiful geometric shapes. For me it was a high selling point for me moving to this place. Highly recommend.

What I like about Ridge Park at Myrtle Bank is that despite its location in a super heavy traffic area the park itself remains incredibly quiet. Ridge Park is just down from the end of the freeway so there’s never any shortage of traffic whizzing by. Amazingly, step just a few metres into the park and the traffic noise disappears. You can actually hear the birds chirping. This is both a dog friendly and people friendly park and there’s no shortage of users. I love the open spaces for the pooches to run around and the plentiful facilities on offer here. Also in the park on the corner of Glen Osmond Road and Barr Smith Avenue is a memorial listing the names of fallen soldiers from World War I. From history buffs to boy scouts to four legged people, Ridge Park has something for everyone.

The park scores for it’s vastness. It’s massive. It basically contains all the aspects a park can. There are ovals, tennis courts, playgrounds, toilets, taps, bins, dirt, trees, grass, etc., etc. Like a night club, you and your friends could potentially simultaneously visit the park without even seeing each other! Maybe. And if you do, it’s because you’re enjoying yourself so darn much. Because of everything available to you, this park feels a little like the Woolworths of parks. It doesn’t really have character(and of all the things a location must have, of course it MUST have character). But that doesn’t mean anything, and it doesn’t matter. It might be hard to cast this park as a favourite, but there’s a lot there, and if you don’t like it, you’ll be hard pressed to find anything in any park to like.

This park is really quite extensive and I’m sure everyone will find some aspect of it that they really like. It’s a very well set up place; toilets, ovals, tennis courts, playground and the list goes on. With my playground reviews, I always consider it a good sign if I can’t take a lot of photos because people are enjoying the area. This is the case with this playground. There’s so much to explore here. The only piece of advice I can give you is that the playground is behind the Scout Hall.

Ridge Park is siiick. In addition to possessing an interconnected 5 and 6 foot bowl set up, which is constantly attacked by young and old skateboarders alike, Ridge Park is a really beautiful place. Being situated at the foot of the of the foot hills, ridge park has a rambling terrain unlike the majority of the inner suburban parks of the Adelaide plain which possess a particularly flat quality. This makes for a slightly more adventurous layout with dips and troughs and small plateaus amongst the trees in which one can nestle for a picknick. There are bbq facilities, as well as toilets and shelter. There is also a bit of play equipment for the kids.
