Overall this is an excellent café. Most of the staff are very friendly, the vine is chic without being overly pretentious, the coffee is excellent, and the food quite delicious wise weak different options for each time of day. I love that they have batch coffee /filter coffee. It comes in a cute little jar Ina bamboo board and is excellent. Tough to find filter coffee and pour overs so I was pumped about that. I recommend the Toasty with mushrooms for lunch.

Great, friendly service with tasty food and refreshing drinks. I ordered the board with avo, chorizo and haloumi and it was amazing. The waffle was also delicious. There’s a cute outdoor area too for a sunny day.

If possible I would break this review down a little further because some aspects of this place are great whilst others are terrible Ambience, coffee & food were great 4⁄5. Service and pricing 2⁄5. Why do people think that being rude and charging $ 2 extra for Gluten free is okay? Maybe this is just not my kind of place although I’ve been to many worse and perhaps you should try it for yourself

I’m having one of those«why can’t we rate in half star» moments. Part of me wants to take a half star off not for a poor experience but just because they’re trying really hard to be trendy. Here you’ll find a myriad of good looking staff members with whispy beards and top-knots. The design inside is monochromatic and clean. And the menu is the hipster version of your generic brunch menu. Eggs only come one way — boiled and with dukkah. Bacon only comes one way — it’s not bacon, it’s chorizo. Unfortunately, I can’t eat chorizo so the closest thing I could get to B&E was smashed avo and a boiled egg. I can’t fault them on taste though. It was definitely delicious and generous on the avocado. And they know how to make a good coffee too! I think it just feels like Darlinghurst is creeping into Newtown.

Super cute, crisp, new café right after the police station on Australia St(when walking down from King Street). I had the avocado smash with an egg, coffee and a green juice. Staff are SONICE! And attentive. Food was yummy. Winner! Definitely my Newtown favourite so far.
