Surprisingly good. I say surprisingly as its a fairly unassuming little place with a Bain Marie and and a slightly soulless eating area. Even the name ‘Tandoori Express’ conjures a vision of franchised mediocrity. However, the food turned out to be freshly prepared and very excellent; Tandoori mushrooms and a daal tarka the standout, tho the Bhoona Lamb was topnotch too. There are some vegan options on the menu as well. The restaurant ended up being a very nice place to sit and knock off a bottle of red over dinner as its minimalist décor is set off by good use of mood lighting and music. If they’d get rid of the brightly lit Bain Marie at the front it would really take the place up another level, but you can’t argue with food that good.

Probably one of the best Indian’s I have had in Sydney. Menu reminds me of the ones I used to see in the UK Indian restaurants. Has some spice and good rich flavour. Probably more for takeaway than dining in as the restaurant is a little soulless.
