The only good thing I can say about the office in Pascoe Vale is that the Receptionist, Emmy, is always friendly, courteous and helpful. It’s actually a shame she’s not one of the property managers because I’ve no doubt things would be improved.
My negative experiences stem from mis-​communication and a lack of it. For example; our landlord received the first two water bills from our rental and paid them.
Our property manager then explained to him that we, as tenants, were required to pay for the usage, which was fair enough by us. But then, in the same week our month’s rent was due, our property manager was kind enough to send us both bills with a note to say we had to pay them with the month’s rent. It took six weeks for me to finally get in contact with her, only after a heated conversation with our landlord who got her to finally call me back, to explain that we couldn’t possibly pay, or be expected to pay, the amount of six months worth of water usage, plus a month’s rent with only a week notice. I suppose in the end her unresponsiveness worked in my favour, because it took six weeks to make contact I felt no need to rush in and pay both bills at once.
The final straw came when, a day after paying two months rent in advance, and just a month after resigning a twelve month lease, my property manager called to break the news our landlord required the property for personal matters and that we needed to vacate within two months. Which, to be honest didn’t bother us too much because finally we won’t have to deal with a landlord who pops over once a week to access his garage of goods. And we’ve managed to find a beautiful house with a helpful and communicative agency (RUN Property Essen don are the BEST!). On the other hand, it took almost a week, three phone calls and two emails to find out when we were going to get our advance rent refund, and a further week waiting for the refund.
So, a word of warning. Unless they are managing the property of your dreams, it’s best to try all other avenues before settling with this agency for a rental. I’m hopeful the other offices and sales team perform better.
