If you pass in front of this book/café shop, buy a strawberry/wahlnutz muffin… Delicious :-) But you have to know that the ex Master Chef sold out the café… So it’s different…

T’s Book Shop is another of Sydney’s great book shop café businesses. They are such a good business combination both for business owners in today’s economic climate and they are perfect for consumers like myself. As a second hand book shop, T’s is right on top they have an excellent selection, they have books which are in excellent condition and modern literature choices which can be hard to find, I have not seen a better Peter Carey selection in any other bookshop and the pricing is reasonable too. Also T’s have a great art books section with out of print hard– back books, which are difficult to find elsewhere. Their location is in the less busy shopping area of Randwick, hiding in the street behind all the main shops, but it is definitely worth making the effort to wander around to them.

This is a real gem tucked away in Randwick. Nip in to T’s Bookshop for a second-hand novel and then take it nextdoor to T’s café for a coffee and a relax. The bookshop is well stocked with recent books, as well as the classics. Considering how expensive brand new books are, it makes sense to regularly pop in to T’s to check that they don’t have must-reads. T’s also provide all the school text books at the start of each academic year for the local schools and the University of New South Wales. It’s important to get there early to snap up all the bargains. Attached to the bookshop is T’s Café, which is run by the super-talented 2009 Masterchef finalist Lucas Parsons(who, for sport fans, is also an ex-pro golfer who won the Greg Norman International in 2000). Open for breakfast, lunch and coffee, Lucas has tried to incorporate inspiration from his extensive travels on the pro-golf circuit in to the dishes here. The coffee is great and the cakes are delicious. If you’ve got a spare afternoon, I highly recommend having a browse through T’s bookstore before seeing for yourself what a Masterchef can whip up in the kitchen.
