The bucket of chicken was pretty good. However — a Waiter was exceptionally rude and despite having it on the menu, refused to split bill. They walked away rather than have the conversation. Can’t recommend and won’t be returning.

Cute restaurant. Wonderful service. Average food. Great place for a catchup with a group. We stayed there chatting for hours without any pressure from the staff. Tried the fish tacos. Would come back to try other menu items.

Their wings are delicious(especially with the pickled watermelon) as are the tacos and guacamole. A good range of local craft beers available, too. We’ll be back!

Come for the tacos, stay for the fried chicken. Comfort food diner that boasts the Latin-American theme with US flags across the bar and a chilli piñata hoisted above the dining tables. Suitable for groups or just sit at the bar if you’re a party-of-one.

Bridge street garage gets four stars for their chicken. There chicken is something I crave when I head back to Melbourne. I love a good bit of fried chicken and they do this so very very well. Ditch the KFC this stuff is the finger licking business. Partner it with some sweet potato fries and watch the grid iron on the TV. It is like being transported back to the USA.

There’s nothing bad about this place but there’s nothing that makes you say«wow» either. Don’t bother with the guac and corn chips. Tip for owners: this dish wouldn’t cost you much to make– bigger serving = only incremental price increase for you but much happier customers!

Bridge St Garage is a great place to catch up with big groups, it has comfortable booths, and the staff are very cheerful and pleasant — I really liked the vibe here. The bad news is the food is quite average. I can see myself coming here quite often for convenience only. I had the chicken tacos, buffalo wings, and nachos — A little underwhelming but overall nothing to really critique. It didn’t hit the spot, but it was not a bad dining experience. With that being said, this place has a lot of promise. I would love to see it improve.

This place is great. The staff are always friendly and there is plenty of them to be able to serve you quickly. The food is great and my favourite is The Ruben, just make sure you are really hungry if you order it, it’s massive! A good range of beers, ciders, wines and cocktails. Great for lunch or dinner

Meh is correct. I read the menu for this place wanting to try everything. It all sounded amazing. Obviously, I had to go with some friends to try a bunch of different things. This actually popped up in my burger quest. Classic Jack, Gaucho, Cadillac burgers plus a deep-fried southern crispy chicken. Ordered the chicken and the first bite was tasty… then the grease gets overwhelming. Comes with coleslaw, but I reckon it should come with a cleaner salad instead. The milky sauce in the slaw is too much on top of the lardy chicken. The chips and burgers were ok. Not good, not great. Dry meat patties are never a good thing. ever. no. Better, cheaper burger joints in the area. If you’re after a burger, go elsewhere.

Nothing special– you can find better in the area. I came here last night and was excited as I had been meaning to try it for a while. This place has had good reviews from my peers and After trying to come here once on a Friday night but being turned away, I was keen to give it a go. Bridge st Garage is decked out in a diner/hot rod garage sort of way with pop art and old petrol signs on the walls. They spent a lot of time doing the layout but it seems to lack something at the same time. The staff were friendly at face value but seemed very good at hiding or keeping busy when you wanted them– despite the restaurant being 1⁄3 full. I had the Guacho Burger as I was under the impression that you came here for burgers. However having the burger I’m not too sure why… My biggest comparison when it comes to food is if I can do it better(And i don’t cook too much) and I have made several burgers better than this one. All of the things you look for in a good burger this was lacking. It was the spicy burger on the menu and had some bite– but I wouldn’t really call it spicy. There was a big hunk of cabbage leaf in there and barely any sauce. This burger didn’t just need a fine tuning or an oil change– it needed to be stripped back and given an overhaul(in going with the garage theme) The kicker is that all the burgers were $ 19.50. If it was say $ 10 it would have been alright, but the cost to satisfaction ratio was not in it’s favour. Especially when you can find better, cheaper food nearby or for the same price get something awesome! On the whole I wouldn’t come here again unless it was just for drinks.

Nice drinks and good burgers. One dish makes me give this place a 4 star review — wings. Do not get them, you will be very disappointed. Bridge st garage is the place to grab a drink and get a decent burger, so I would stick with those. Empanadas were great too, so if they are on the menu, give them a try. It’s great bar, casual, with good drinks, wine, and beers on tap. And with kitchen open late, it is worth stopping by for a drink and burger when most places are closed in the area.

I went somewhat hopefully here having read the other reviews, but I’m sad to say the majority have nailed it — it’s style over substance. The staff were pleasant enough, but the food just lets the place down; it should be way better for the vibe they’re going for and certainly better for the price. As other reviewers have indicated, the burger patties are ordinary at best, the sweet potato fries are like little dagwood dogs(in both appearance and taste), even the Cokes we had were like someone had bought a can the previous day, had a few mouthfuls, left it in the car while they were at the beach, took it home, left it on the counter, later remembered and put it in the fridge overnight, and then poured our drinks from it the next day — with an excess of ice just for good measure. Three strikes in one visit — you don’t see that every day.

Tried to get into Fratellis nearby on a Friday night to be faced by a 40 minute wait so we went to Bridge St Garage instead where there was no wait. Started with some cocktails which were fairly weak. For food, I had the Garage burger which to be honest, was a disappointment — the patty despite not being overcooked(it was still pink) was incredibly dry. The fries were the best bit of the dish — crispy but not overly oily. Unfortunately, I don’t think I’ll be returning!

Had a great lunch. Burger was good — really good — if not amazing. The mood was relaxed and casual for a restaurant, staff were friendly. Probably not the best burger in town, certainly not the best value burger in town but I’ll definitely be back.

If this place wants to be known for their burgers, they’re going to need to change a few things. For what they charge for a burger, it should be much better. It looks like they take shortcuts with either previously frozen patties or cook them in advance and warm them up as the night goes along. I ordered the sweet potato fries as a substitute from the regular ones. They were coated in a thick batter, absorbing grease, disguising the great sweet potato flavor. Wrong approach for a beautiful side dish. People choose sweet potato fries because they’re healthier than regular potatoes and the ones I got were pretty bad. The staff were friendly and courteous; they just need to make changes to the way they prepare their burgers and fries(chips)…or they won’t be in business much longer.

I’ve been to the BSG twice now. Shortly after it first opened I booked in for a group of friends. The morning of the booking, two people fell ill and pulled out. I called and left a message to amend the booking. Upon arrival, I was chastised for not having the full numbers«do you know how many people I’ve turned away tonight?» the host asked angrily. I didn’t even get an apology when I told him I had left a message early that afternoon to amend the booking. The food on that occasion was less than impressive. I remember liking the bean side, but that’s pretty much it. Fast forward seven months and the place is chosen as a venue for a work lunch. I walk in with low expectations, but high hopes that the place might have improved. And I’m impressed. I ordered the gaucho burger, which was well cooked to medium rare with a slight kick. The chips were a bit chewy as if the oil wasn’t quite hot enough, but were at least nicely seasoned. If I’d known the place had improved I might have ordered the wings as an appetiser to see if they had also benefitted from the passage of time(I remember them being very disappointing). As it is, I’m happy to save those for a return visit. I didn’t even get chastised this time for showing up with one less than the booking(although I had left a message letting them know).

Awful quality food, overpriced, nice décor. Had chicken wings(limp blue cheese sauce, flabby chicken), burger(poor quality meat, dry bun). Avoid. Could have had bar burger at Rockpool for less money.

I counted about 10 pieces of corn total in my 3 sweet corn empenadas. I essentially paid $ 14 for some empty pastry. This is not even an exaggeration, check the photo. My friend’s beef empenadas were at filled with dry beef mince. She said they weren’t that good but hey, at least they weren’t hollow. The sweet potato fries were not what you would expect from sp fries, and not in a good way. They were battered which was unexpected, adding a super deep fried, oily flavour which took away from what could have been naturally delicious sweet potatoes. The guacamole was made with parsley instead of coriander. Could just be a personal taste but to me guac is not guac if it’s made with parsley. Overall a sad dining experience. The atmosphere is cool but I felt ripped off and not satisfied with the meal.
