I really like this pub. It may not look like much from outside, but Aussie pubs rarely do. It’s certainly not fancy inside, either. The front room, the pool table on the left, the pokie room to the right, aren’t very swish. But there’s an open-air dining room behind the pool area, and a really nice, green, sheltered courtyard with tables and parasols behind that. The food is very good. I’ve had some excellent fried calamari here, and others recommend their prawn pasta and Moroccan pork chops. It’s always been very busy at dinnertime when I’ve been here. They’ve got some good beers on tap, too, outside the usual Tooheys/Coopers/Carlton/VB/Cascade. You can find Barrons Black and Reschs Pilsner too. Service staff have always treated me well. A good place to go if you want a drink or a bite before the Seymour Centre.
