Excellent! The waitstaff were amazing, and everything we tried was an amazing treat; pork and chive pan fried dumplings, shallot pancakes, and ALL of the dumplings(particularly XLB!) Though upscale casual, this was by far my favorite meal in Australia.

The mixed mushroom dumplings were the best I ever had. Everything else, including the ambiance was average.

Some of the best dumplings I have ever had. Everything made from scratch everyday. The potstickers were amazing, and the soup dumplings were perfectly salted and not overbearing. We enjoyed everything we ordered. Small quaint place, we got in without a reservation in the afternoon but would say if there is a wait… to wait. Staff was superb! Recommend sitting at the bar and hanging out with Sara. We happily waddled our way out with bigger bellies than we walked in with.

Small place so book ahead. Food great, super menu and great choice. Staff friendly and attentive and quick. Worth the trip over. Tasmanian wine worth checking out. Outside table was great and so friendly. Near the ROCKs so 10 mins from center of Sidney. Try the appetizers and forget the main course, save that for another visit. It is located almost under the Sydney harbor bridge so is an easy walk up from the harbour and a few other restaurants nearby which is handy as this place must be always busy.

Turned away on two different nights(Tuesday & Wednesday) to a half full restaurant at 6:30pm. Not a good first impression for a place that has raving reviews. I’m happy to have my opinion changed but it’s going to take some time for my desire to return. I’m not sure what could improve the customer experience here; either don’t offer reservations for such a small space, or provide more outdoor seating? For those of you who do get to experience Lotus Dumplings, please savour them for the rest of us.

Honestly best dumplings ever! I usually always order main dishes, but the dumplings were simply outstanding. We also got the appetizer dumplings in spicy sauce, and they were awesome. Go for this place, walk a little out of the way, you won’t be disappointed

Ate lunch at this place and it was amazing! The dumplings were all good, but the highlight of the meal was the Crispy Eggplant! Highly recommend a stop here if you are in The Rocks and in the mood for some awesome Chinese food!

Man Lotus dumpling bar, where have you been all my life?! We were recommended by a friend who swears it’s the best dumpling bar in Sydney. We were hesistant cos we never heard of them before, my god were we impressed! We ordered dumplings, pan fried buns(which was so good I didn’t know what to do with myself), and a duck and asparagus fried rice. The dumplings were fresh in terms of flavours and texture similar to the ones you get at Mr Wong, the buns were fluffy with a slight crisp on the bottom and had soups flowing the second you bite into it(pro– it tasted amazing, con — I burnt my lips) and the fried rice was jam packed with herbs and mustards seeds. Atmosphere wise, it’s a little hip, a little mysterious and a little sexy. Highly recommended.
