Too hungry to get a photo in but great variety on the sushi train and servers were very attentive

Excellent sushi joint, whether you sit at the sushi train or order at the table all the options are very good and reasonably priced. We are regulars here and I’ve never had a bad experience. You could do a lot worse.

Modern Japanese restaurant with a sushi train. Fantastic wait service and food quality. Food is also very fairly priced, especially their lunch menu. Would recommend to all sushi-lovers. Great food + fairly priced good + great wait service = 4.5 star(rounded up to 5)

I’ve been here a number of times with my family, and every time we’ve had a really lovely(and super reasonable) meal. Everything is fresh and very tasty.

I agree with Mia, with so many sushi joints around, there are too many average sushi places and it’s hard to tell any difference. Niji is one of the better ones with lots of dishes on the menu, good space and well priced dishes. all our meals were great, with the exception of our ordered plate of aburi salmon nigiri where they forgot to drizzle our sauce. Other than that, everything is great and we will definitely return when in the area.

One of the best Sushi place in Kingsford. The staff is humble and the manager is a nice guy. A lil pricey though. But I highly recommend it.

Had a decent meal here. The miso soup, sushi, salads, and wagyu beef were good, but not life-changing. My favorite was the pesto edamame. I will probably go back if I find myself near the area again, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to come back.

For anyone that is obsessed about anything that is Japanese, it’s bad news for you, this restaurant has Japanese style, but it is not Japanese, from what I can see, all the staffs, including the chiefs are coming from everywhere from Asia except Japan, I see Indonesians, Koreans, Malaysians, Chinese and many other Asians, but not a single Japanese, but I bet many people won’t tell the difference, I only found out this when the staffs talk in their language. If you want food made by Japanese, go across the road and there is one, but all they sell is ramen which tastes like instant noodles, no offense. But if you don’t care then nothing need to worry, because Japanese or not, the food is about the same, of course there will be some difference, so some of them taste good but some are not like korokke. So I will give this restaurant 4 stars.

YEAH! Best sushi I’ve had in Sydney after Makoto, and it’s right next door to my house. I must admit I mourned the death of GPK(where I used to get my hangover pastas on Sundays a few years back) and resented Niji a little bit for taking over, but that feeling quickly faded once I tried their brown rice sushi(it gives me an excuse to eat sushi while pretending to be healthy). It’s always packed — literally always, every night of the week — so it might be wise to book if you’re not willing to wait. Make sure you order the salmon teriyaki bowl, it’s the best thing I’ve had there.

Just had lunch — great food and plenty of it! Great and helpful waiters nothing too much trouble ! Very reasonable price even with a cocktail each. Plenty of parking in side street. Worth a look in if you are in the area.

Niji is the reason I eat beef again. Seriously, for 6 long years I was not making any friends with salad, until i was faced with a plate of Niji’s wagyu beef. And oh my god. I went back the next day and had it again. Now with a sushi place on every corner opened by Koreans thinking you can’t tell the difference, I had become fairly disillusioned with sushi. It all made sense when I founs out the head chef used to be the chef at Toko — the great flavour and expertise of Toko is seen at Niji, but for a fraction of the price. It gets pretty busy, so if youre going for dinner you defs want to book. Like, now, do it.
