Omg! I loved this place! This was one of the first places we decided to dine at in Rio and it was also the last place we dined at because we liked it so much. Stationed in the cutest busiest street of Santa Teresa, this restaurant is easy to miss. All you’ll see is a stair case leading up to a patio with some people eating. This place is filled with charm. Super cute decorations. Both times we were here, we were seated upstairs in the restaurant portion(vs the café). We ordered mimosas(they were delicious!) and a few pizzas. I know, I know, typical Americans ordering pizza in Brasil, but we were a little over the constant meat eating at this point. The service here was pretty good. The servers don’t speak a lot of English, but enough people that work here do, so they can probably get by. It does help a lot if you speak Spanish. The Bruschetta here was absolutely amazing. Their pizzas were delicious too! Large enough to share for a table. A couple of people in my party ordered typical Brasilian dishes with steak. I don’t remember the names, but they also raved about it. This place is awesome. Quaint and cute, ambiance is great and food is delicious. After you dine here, you can stroll along the street to check out all the neat little shops and, if up for the trek, head to the stairs. It’s not too far of a walk. Just keep along the cobblestone road. Cafecito is defintiely a great place to check out if you’re just getting to Santa Teresa and not sure what to have. We liked it a lot!

Achei demais! Resultado: R$ 51 dinheiros(já inclusos os famigerados 10%).

I cannot say enough about Cafecito. As if Santa Teresa wasn’t incredible enough, this café really makes a trip to the neighborhood unforgettable. I’ve been here twice: once for a weekend brunch and once for a weekday mid-afternoon snack. The food is great: for brunch they have the normal Brazilian breakfast options which come in various combindations including things like bread, yogurt, fruit, jellies, butter, cheeses, cold-cut meats, and more. They also have a large list of sandwiches and wonderful cheeses to choose from. One of my favorite things here is the brie with honey, and they also have a wonderful smoked mozzarella cheese. Also don’t forget to get a coffee. they have amazing coffee and they know how to make it. Now for my favorite part: the atmosphere. Cafecito is located on a patio about one story above street level, and it kind of hugs the side of a hill. You have a great view of Santa Teresa, and it’s nestled right in among other old buildings. It seems to be a part of a larger complex all run by the same people, and there is a cute antique store on one side of the patio. Upstairs is a restaurant that opens in the evening. This place is amazing. It’s not only worth stopping by if you are in the neighborhood, but it actually would be worthwhile to plan a trip just to come here!

A must go breakfast/coffee place in Santa Teresa. Service is fast. You have different menu’s for breakfast, I tried option 3 and it was nice.

The service wasn’t warm, but the coffee and sandwiches were good. The café deleite is equal parts coffee, foam and delicious caramel. My partner and I ordered three half sandwiches, which were appropriately sized. Each sandwich is served with a yummy spinach/oil that really added to the flavor of the sandwiches. The outdoor setting is great for a sunny day. Be warned — check the hours before planning to make the trek up the hill. We spent ages searching this place out(minimal signage) only to learn it was closed for the day.

The setting at this artsy little café is perfect — they have nailed the bohemian chic vibe hands down. The coffees are excellent and the sandwiches are sizeable, affordable and dare I say — goddam delicious. But something has gone awry in the management I feel. Every time I come here — and it’s the food that I come back for — the staff look like they could kill me. And I don’t take it personally they all just look like they wished they worked somewhere else. Anywhere else. This isn’t supposed to be a damning review because frankly — I love this place. And the staff, when it comes down to it — are generally quick to serve and pretty helpful. But their answers are short, curt and gruff. And it leaves a bitter taste in the mouth. Bön appetite.

Fantastic, quaint little coffee shop in the heart of the Santa Teresa art district of Rio. Nestled among trees, this open air coffee shop offers a great selection of coffee drinks and confectionaries. We tried the caramel cake and the apple cake– both were excellent. The service was wonderful– very attentive and pleasant and our waiter spoke limited English. For a great place to just stop and people watch and take a break, I highly recommend it.

Todavia, voltaria outras vezes.
