This small Leblon boteco is always busy and there’s a good reason too. The food is homecooked and the draft beer(chopps) arrives at your table quickly and coooold. Considering that it’s located 2 blocks from the beach, it’s a perfect place to go after the sun — getting a table though is another thing. I love the feijoada, I think their version is up there with some of the best, and the canja(chicken rice soup) was surprisingly fresh and flavorsome. For lunch or dinner, you’ll find people pouring out onto the sidewalk since the seating space doesn’t match the popularity. Jobi is a staple and next to Bracarense, it’s among the best boteco you can find in Rio.

Best cool draft beer and delicious dishes pretty much any time of day/night. Anything on the menu will taste amazing for a foodie. Open almost 24⁄7!

A conta sai alta pq vc senta, bebe, joga conversa fora, e nao ve o tempo passar — e tambem pq os chopps nao saem barato no Rio!

Great outdoor spot to enjoy a beer in the street/patio. Especially on a Monday night when everything is closed, it was a perfect place to mingle and meet new people while drinking in the street, gotta love RIO!!!

Lugar beeem gostoso e muita gente bonita! Deliciosoooo!

A highly touted bar, and for good reason. This place is packed with energy, most likely from the cheap draft beer(only R$ 7) and delicious appetizers. I also ordered the white mushroom and pepperoni pizza, which was treat. The gooey cheese and and pepperoni were well-made, but the white mushrooms put the dish over the top. Even on weeknights, this place is worth checking out.

What could I possibly say about Bar Jobi that hasn’t been said before? A total Rio institution and a Leblon heavy hitter since the 1950’s. Just go. Places like this are rare in Rio, yes you heard me right. Even just 10 – 15 years ago there were more gems more like this in Rio, but with Globalization, China becoming the new & biggest – rapist/trading partner of Brazil, mix that with inflation, devaluation of the dollar and real, and neighborhoods like Copacabana becoming no-go zones… yes, Jobi is simply a dying breed. I’ve seen Rio in better shape before. I might as well mention the World Cup and soon to be Olympics in Rio are not a blessing but a curse. Prices will only go up and quality goes down. Keep in mind I went at a time to avoid ALLOFTHIS, and still dealt with stupid prices. Grocery shopping was simply a sad affair and a waste of money. This last visit was a huge wake-up call. Rio has never been the culinary epicenter of Brazil and it is NOT a food destination. I’m sure I’ll get the death threats and tears about that comment, but anyone from Brazil or that is well traveled through Brazil knows it’s true. If you’ve seen more than just Rio, you will vouch for me. São Paulo, Bahia and other places have the good eats. Rio is a beach town where mediocrity meets the sand and you must dive deep to find good spots like Jobi. Is Rio amazing? Yes… just not the food. Jobi, does everything in house, and the place is small, ultra tiny, every last bit of room is used for something. Roasted pig-leg and other meats with tasty sides make for a comforting meal, almost Thanksgiving-esque, beautiful pork-rinds to crunch on gratis as you sip your beer or cocktail. And of course a lot of other Brazilian classics too. Bar Jobi’s owner might even stop by your table and ask how your meal is, a jovial Carioca indeed. The crowd here is very-local, and it’s a freedom-zone, I like how free at times you can feel in Rio. The waiters dressed in black & white, stop by and use a pen to make tick-marks on your paper table-cover as you are racking up your beer count. I’m not the biggest beer drinker, but when you are in Brazil, it’s necessary. Over all, this place is a spot I’d eat at every single day, why even bother with any other place? The food is very good, basic & lovingly put together, my idea of comfort food done right, prices are very fair, given that Rio is UN-GODLY expensive… and the fact that Jobi sits in thee most expensive neighborhood of Leblon. This place won’t disappoint.

Jobi is a very comfortable boteco with good food. Highlights were the beef and pork sandwiches.

Another great option in leblon. The place was full of people. We went in straight to the bar and ordered food and drinks. We ate our food by the counter since no seats were available. The pork with skin was crispy and great with the draft. The sandwich was absurdly tasty and hits the spot after all those drinks. A great night out.

This bar is ALWAYS packed, with a great looking crowd. Prices for drinks is reasonable for the neighborhood. Unless you have a table expect to stand outside in which case you can go to the General Store and buy drinks to go and just drink those outside for cheaper :) Leblon is mostly restaurants and lounge type places so if you’re looking for a bar type scene I would definitely stop by here. A lot of fun!

They were very accommodating to us and our sleeping baby in a stroller, even though the restaurant was packed. We ordered the feguada and file mignon and both were good, but the steak was excellent. The fries were tasteless, but the caprahinias were outstanding. We would recommend this place, and obviously it is a favorite as it was packed by 6pm and appeared to be going strong throughout the night.
