After a colorful walk through the surrounding neighborhoods in of one of the most picturesque hills in Valparaiso, visiting Bar de Pisco is a must. Bar de Pisco is a small yet modern bar with a cozy vibe in Cerro Alegre. If you make your way here, I recommend the Apiado, it is the cocktail they are best known for — a meticulously made cocktail with fresh mashed celery, lemon juice, simple syrup, crushed ice and pisco distilled twice. The bartender is the Maradona of Pisco — he literally knows all there is about Pisco. He can help you chose the perfect cocktail to start your night depending on what you are in the mood for — savory or sweet. The staff is super nice as they joke around all night and are full of interesting conversations and stories to keep your night entertaining. I recommend sitting at the bar because the bartender will give you the good«insider tips» on where to go in Valpo and what to see. You may also want to try the variety of artesian pisco shots. You can setup your own pisco tasting with different types of pisco from all over Chile. Plus, the bartender will patiently explain where each pisco comes from and its different flavors of the pisco you have chosen. If pure shots aren’t your style, the menu is filled with all different types of cocktails(all made from pisco — even some including merkén and miel de palma!) Tip: The menu is always changing based on the season, so what you had last year might not currently be on the menu — but always ask even if you don’t see it! There is very limited seating(the bar can probably sit around 20 people and mostly at the bar) They open at 7:30pm every day, so this is a great place to come with friends after a long day of exploring Valpo.
