As a French girl in Copenhagen it’s a piece of home. My colleagues took me there for my first lunch at the office in 2014 and it was one the best sandwich I’ve ever had. I although really enjoy their cheese selection.

Absolutely loved the sandwich. It checks all boxes… crispy baguette, a little tang from the mustard, the bite from the watercress and the unreal texture combination of the crunchy/creamy duck. Best food I have ever had, no… best sandwich, top 5 anyways.

I’ve been hearing from friends about these guys’ duck sandwiches for ages. So, decided to check it out. It lived up to the hype. The sandwich is simple — a baguette, some mustard, a sprinkling of lettuce, and then a bunch of duck. There’s nothing complex to it, and that’s the beauty of it. I’d previously passed the stand in Torvehallerne assuming it was just selling French products. But, when you loop to the back, the restaurant and seating offers a cozy spot to enjoy your meal. The price is so-so, but that’s representative of Torvehallerne in general, and given you’re getting a hearty portion of duck, i suppose it’s actually quite reasonable.

They say that if you like sausages, you should never see how a sausage is made. Well, in this case, the sausage was the duck confit that goes into these sandwiches. Although the crunchy bits of duck were a treat, it did gross me out a bit to watch one of the employees clean one of the huge iron pans by scraping the remains into the other pan. I had the pleasure of seeing this intriguing cleaning method while waiting in line for a long time at the very disorganized counter. I guess I should have expected as much from Torvehallerne’s French stand, but anyway… The sandwich itself was not as balanced as I was expecting it to be, with huge gobs of mustard in some bites. Also, the arugula didn’t really do anything except make me feel slightly better about eating a cup of duck confit for lunch. Actually, my favorite part of the sandwich was the baguette, which was nice and chewy with a good clean flavor. Anyway, the sandwich was pretty satisfying, and for only 58 kroner, definitely a good value. I would probably try other stands before coming back here, though.

This little french gem is located in a corner of Torehallerne. YES and YES their duck sandwich is bomb dot com. But don’t forget their other products to bring it home with you though! Formage? Merci!

BESTSANDWICHEVAAAA. but this is simply because I like ducks. I wish their meat can be hotter when they serve and less mustard on the bread. They spread mustard on every bread prior the store opens. The ducks get a bit dry too. But this is still one of the place I have revisited most. and my friends love it too.

I walk up to one of the folks behind the counter: Me: so i e been told you make some sandwiches? Him: sandwiches? We make the. BEST sandwich! Me: ok let me at it! Him: go see my colleague on e other side! So i stroll over and we get a couple of the duck confit sandwiches. There’s a large pan with shredded duck meat cooking in its fat. They drop mustard some greens, and finally the duck in a long roll. Pretty darn tasty. Great, quick food when you need a bite on the go

The sandwich is supposed to be the best sandwich in town, but is it really? Well, it is a pretty good sandwich, but after you’ve had it once, there is no variety. The rest of the shop is pretty great, with some great French specialties.

«Copenhagen’s best sandwich» they proclaim. And actually Politiken agrees. It gets a bit«too much» and dry. There’s basically only confit de canard and bread. And then a little(very little) spinach and mustard.

Ma Poule is located in a corner stall in one of the market halls. My husband and I ordered a duck sandwich to go and were so delighted that we went back for a second one. I totally love Ma Poule! One thing to note about the sandwich is that it is served with a mustard-looking sauce. This freaked me out because I absolutely detest mustard but I had no choice but to try it because, well, Ma Poule are the experts at making the sandwich, not me, so mustard sauce it was! The mustard sauce was not mustardy tasting at all. It tasted more like dill than anything. Delicious. I’ve been dreaming about Ma Poule since leaving Copenhagen three weeks ago. So, so sad.

Duck sandwich is good and very filling, but pretty much nothing but meat and bread. I would have liked some lettuce or some other kind of filling. Servers are cute and very French. Long lines at busy times, so don’t come when you’re too hungry.

When I first heard about this confit de canard sandwich, I absolutely wanted to try it. Having tried it, it’s maybe not as awesome as expected, but still good. I’m a little surprised at the Danish reviews knocking the baguette bread, but I will chalk that up to difference in opinions about bread in general(I am still learning to appreciate the Danish levels of rye in bread). Personally, I think the bread is well suited to the sandwich and the porous baguette soaks up the mustard and duck fat nicely. The sandwich is meat heavy and by the end of it you’ll certainly start to feel the fat content weighing you down. I think next time, I’ll split the sandwich with a friend rather than eat the whole thing myself. The shop does have some other items in their menu and also cheeses and charcuterie, but clearly the biggest draw is their duck sandwich. One corner of the shop is devoted to two huge cooktops piled high with duck meat. Nearly everyone stopping by seemed to be stopping for the sandwich(myself included).

This is my Go To when I need a little dose of France. I am a regular consumer of their butter(way better than anything else you’ll find in Copenhagen, and worth the 30kr price tag — TRUST), and when I need a stinky cheese or curious looking paté fix, this place is totes my jam.

though it may have a disneyland price tag of 55kr($ 9.34USD), this is one damn fine sandwich. i would have given it the full five stars, but sadly the quality is not consistent. the bread is lovely with a smear of mustard and not nearly enough peppery greens to compete with the generous heap of confit de canard. sometimes you will get the meat that is a bit dry but not with crispy ends and other times you’ll get the. perfect. sandwich. if you don’t have enough coins knocking around in your pocket, come by anyway; the guys behind the counter might force you to try a bite.(:

a little too salty, and a little dry(since I was near the end of the batch) so overall it was an ok duck sandwich with mustard. lot of things to see in the market.
