I had high expectations for this place(like really, REALLY high expectations) after reading rave reviews all over the internet, but sadly, I didn’t find it to be quite as amazing as I expected. Don’t get me wrong, the coffee was very good, but to me, there wasn’t anything that especially stood out from other boutique coffee shops I’ve been to. As some others have mentioned, the setup of the shop itself is pretty cool. When you walk in, you’re not faced with a traditional countertop that serves as a barrier between you and the barista. Instead, it’s an open space that showcases the espresso machine and all the knick knacks that are involved in making that delicious cup of coffee. It’s a cool experience to get to see it out in the open, and it does build a sense of trustworthiness in whoever’s making your coffee. Overall, I think this is a place worth visiting if you’re in the Nørrebro area! Not too far from Superkilen and Assistens Cemetery, this is a good spot to chill for a bit and refuel on caffeine.

COFFEE! It’s the liquid of life. Obviously, you can’t function without it, I know I can’t and the best place to drink coffee is obviously from this chain, no matter where they’re located. I have tried the cramped one in Torvehallen and this place is so much better in terms of seating places. Located in the food mecca street of Nørrebro, this place is a perfect place to hang out on a summer day after a morning stroll or just spend time waiting for Mikeller to open like we did. Service is great, coffee is great. I really have nothing to complain.

Disclaimer: tourist from Seattle Okay Copenhagen, you’ve made me a believer that I could live here. Because you have coffeeshops that are uniquely their own(pretty hipster I guess) and the baristas know what they’re doing. When I walked in, I loved that it looked like I just walked into a kitchen counter at an apartment. And the barista does have his back to you while he’s making your drinks but as long as he’s pleasant and makes good drinks, I’m not going to complain. It was a Saturday morning and I’m glad I made my friends abstain from getting drinks at grød(where we had breakfast) because I knew that I wanted to get the coffee collective one more time before we left and it was down the street(also is jægerborggade not one of the coolest streets??). I got a cappuccino this time, and my friends got a latte and a hot chocolate. I have had excellent hot chocolate in Paris but I really enjoyed this hot chocolate! It wasn’t bitter and it was veryyy smooth. I think The Coffee Collective would fit in perfectly in Seattle ;)

The barista at Coffee Collective was mean. First off, she made us a cup and we asked for milk after and she got really upset and said«you should have asked me for that first, it costs extra». Don’t scold me, just ask me to pay for milk and it’s not a problem. Next, we asked if they had wifi and her response in a really sarcastic tone with a scowl on her face was«is that a deal breaker»?? Us: silence. Her: «is it»? Coffee is not just about the beans, it’s about the experience, and I’ve had better coffee experiences at 7 – 11.

The positive reviews are warranted. I’ve actually seen their coffee beans sold in Paris but I was very happy to be able to sample their coffee at their actual store. It’s a tiny shop and I imagine the line gets out of hand during busy hours, but it’s worth the wait. I had a cortado made with their«espresso 2» blend which contains 3 different types of beans. It was one intense cup of coffee. I was really impressed and plan to go back for more.

Always dope sippin coffee next to a probat. Kinda cool how there’s no barrier between the bar/workstation and the rest of the space. All of the beans on hand seemed to be offered for aeropress. Honestly forgot which one I had, was definitely one of the s.o. from one of their espresso blends… was an above average roast, mebbe a little muddled in flavor with a decent body… a little bit of prunes if I’m remembering correctly.

What a difference two years makes. –ordered two capps and they were neither sour, nor bitter, but rather balanced & the right temperature with the milk just slightly sweet. The icing on the cake was that service came with a smile. The super big bonus: hot water tap in the bathroom; it’s nice to not have to wash one’s hands in icy-cold water, especially in February. C.C. has the heater up, making everything toasty-n-warm. This is all to say that C.C. is better than I remember it. The staff working on the day we visited were a darn sight friendlier than the last batch from 2013. In addition to C.C. being so welcoming, the street on which C.C. is found seems to be ever-flourishing with old and new shops. This is window shopping at some of its best. Grab a drink from C.C. then pick up yourself a tasty doughnut from the joint across the way(run by a super chill and chatty dude originally hailing from Brooklyn, NY). You’ll not be disappointed.

Straight up, damn good coffee. I am a sucker of flavor coffee drinks, I am not going to lie but the coffee is not bitter here and you can take it straight. I highly recommend stopping by ! If you are looking for a café with wifi this is not the place.

Touted as one of best coffee houses in Copenhagen, I had to give this place a go. Noticeably absent was the counter that normally separated baristas from customers. It seemed as though I had just walked into a friend’s kitchen rather than a café. The welcoming staff reinforced that feeling. I ordered a latte– my barometer for any new coffee shop. The milk was hot, smooth, and creamy; and a tight foam layer crowned the drink. A subtle anise taste gave this latte a unique quality. Coffee Collective’s reputation is justified.

I am not a coffee person but I will try a cup when a local says«this place has the best coffee anywhere». The coffee is not bitter! Can you believe that? I thought cold brew was the only form of non-bitter coffee. Plus the staff here is so nice and everyone just seems so genuinely happy here! There are queues out the door but it is worth the wait!

Denmark seems to be a serious place for coffee, and since I’m also serious about coffee, my friend suggested that I come here to give it a try. Not only that, but when we were offered coffee after having lunch and I said we were going to be getting coffee down the street at The Coffee Collective, our server emphatically told us to go!(Even though the restaurant used coffee from there as well.) So go we did. The place is small and appeared not to have much seating at first, but there was a bit more seating in the back(even though we just sat in the window by the giant coffee roaster). Oh yeah, there’s also a giant coffee roaster too. It’s totally hipster though(I think we must have been in the hipster area of Copenhagen at this point), so just be prepared. The sign was a mish-mash of capital and lowercase letters(oh the hipsters). Anyway, I got an Aeropress coffee and it was really delicious. I could have had about three more. I was super impressed by the coffee and the knowledge of the people working here. So if you’re as serious about coffee as Denmark seems to be, The Coffee Collective is your place. They also sell beans to take home!

A small shop, but truly a amazing place to get amazing coffee. The coffee collective is now spread all over Copenhagen, but this shop is authentic. And all their beans is home roasted. Delicious.

Best coffee in Copenhagen. Never disappoints me. Not a big fan of the non existing bar and think the atmosphere could use a bit more cozy feeling. But their is absolutely nothing wrong with the coffee!

I think that this is the place, where I had the really one of the best cup of coffee, what I ever had! The Coffee Collective is a specialty coffee micro roastery and coffee consulting company. Then world Barista Champion, twice national champion and world-wide coffee consultant. Started as a barista in London in 2001– here? Should I continued? And for example in our really cool place in Prague, the man behind the coffee machine had the mixture from coffee collective, in Czech, soooo, if you are more interesting about coffee and culture about it, you have to definitely come in here and taste some delicious cup!

It might be the best coffee i have ever had. I laughed a little when our copenhagen friend told us that there’s a coffee shop down the street that makes the best coffee«in the world» and that there are trophies from all the competitions won by the coffee made there but he was right — it is THAT good. We even bought the beans to take home, although im not sure if we can imitate what they make there, despite already owning the aeropress. To be fair, the coffee there is not cheap. 5EUR for a cappuccino, and a pound of beans is over 10EUR, but it’s worth it. This location is really cute — brightly lit and lots of space for seating. Come hang out here for an hour and it will brighten your day!

I’ve tried the Hacienda La Esmeralda coffee in two locales. Benu in SF and Coffee Collective in Copenhagen. Now Im an obsessive on taste and quality and I had in my mind this was going to be the best thing I ever had. It is really good, but maybe I self hyped it too much. Once you get past taste, there is the concept of value. If you find something amazing for $ 10, is it still amazing at $ 100? that’s the question. Now the coffee isnt an order of magnitude more expensive but it’s expensive enough.

Awesome coffee served at this small coffee place run by the Coffee Collective. They only serve their own beans that they have carefully sourced and then roasted on their own. The Kenyan is usually my favorite as the aeropress but the Esmeralda is also a good choice, they also make excellent espresso based beverages and of course sell the beans as well, among the best in Copenhagen and the only reason for the not perfect rating is that the café itself is not very convenient, difficult to order and often long lines and limited with good seats. Do prefer their new place as it is more comfortable(review of that coming as well).

I wrote a lengthier review of the other Coffee Collective location, so I’ll just summarize: my boyfriend and I drink a lot of coffee and are pretty picky about it, but we thought this coffee shop was excellent. We tried most of the drinks on the menu and each one was perfect. It is a bit pricey, but it is worth it. They roast the beans at this location, and the smell is divine. This location is smaller than the Torvehallerne location and has limited indoor seating, but there are several large picnic tables outside. It is near the beautiful Assistens Cemetery, making it a great stop off before or after wandering through the cemetery.

great coffee served with a smile! you can’t find that everywhere in copenhagen. you definitely pay for the quality of the coffee, though… a bag of beans will set you back about 70kr. sometimes i treat myself to a cup here, usually the aeropress with whatever beans are recommended by the barista that day. maybe i have just blown out my tastebuds with spicy food, but that contraption seems to suck all the bitterness out of the drink and leaves me able to taste all the lovely nuances. sorry to those who are looking forward to a soy latte; these people are serious about their coffee! only cow’s milk here.
