My fiancé and I were running errands all over Copenhagen when we realized, «Man, I am HUNGRY». We ducked in here out of the cold after confirming they served more than just pastry and coffee. This place is adorable! It looks like a haven for local students and I can see why — there is free wifi, plenty of space, and friendly service. There were candles all around which gave everything a lovely soft glow. It’s the definition of cozy. I ordered a butternut squash soup. Guys, get. this. soup. It was served with fresh croutons which had been brushed with a chili olive oil. The soup itself was creamy, with an unexpected(but most welcome) «zing». I heard angels sing. I also«had a bite»(read: ate half) of my fiancé’s cinnamon bun, which was delightfully sticky and soft, the way they should be. Well done Bryggen 21! Can’t wait to come back! Hopefully to try the coffee next time and settle in with a book.

Very cozy place with a charming style and personality. The price level is OK, pretty much middle of the range. The food is very good though. I had the salmon sandwich and my fiancé had the butternut squash soup. On top of that i had a cinnamon whirl. All of it was excellent. Add to that friendly and pretty fast service and you have a very attractive lunch spot.

I went here with eight friends because we had the wrong timing for the showing of a World Cup match this summer on Islands Brygge. Good at planning? Mayhaps not. Good at crashing random cafés? Yes, indeed. Bryggen 21 has a nice and quite exciting menu with good prices. This consists of different fish, spareribs and cakes among other things. Seeing as I really wasn’t all that hungry, I only got myself a massive cinnamon roll instead(there’s always room for one of these, right?). Charming atmosphere, friendly staff and a damn fine glass of rosé wine, made this a super evening!
