A nice and cozy place with helpful staff and good food. A perfect place for a long lunch.

Supposing I was craving for pizza and I had some extra money to spend on cuddling myself with a nice meal, I’d definitely go for La Vecchia Signora. I was addressed here by an italian friend who described the pizza as one of the best in town and I have to agree, it’s one of the best in town. I was really curious to try it out. The place itself is a bit kitschy due to the forced«artificially created» italian familiar environment, as if everywhere in Italy houses and restaurants there were, of course, a fireplace, a red and white squared tablecloth, wicker wine bottles and football players blow-ups firmly fastened to the wall. Come on, you can do better than that! We’re not in the 60’s anymore, the world has changed and so should your perception. The welcoming, on the other hand, was very pleasant. It was late in the evening, faktisk the restaurant is open until 23, even though jeg tror the kitchen shuts down at 22:30. Therefore you better get there before or either call in and order what you want within the time. We arrived a little past 22:30 but we were welcomed anyhow as we warned them in time. Our pizzas were just gotten out of the oven, wood-burning oven(specification needed), and they were still warm when we started eating. The dough was good, it was not too thin nor too thick. Same goes for the tomato sauce and the mozzarella, which were tasty and had quality in them. The only little criticism I might have is the amount, as they could’ve(and should have) added some more to not be as dry. However, prices are a bit higher than the competition but La Vecchia Signora wins the contest and gets in straightaway in my top-3 pizza restaurants list.

The dinner was excellent. I had the melon and prosciutto starter and it was one of the best I have had. The Mellon was good but the prosciutto ham was lenticular and great quality. The prosciutto and mozzarella cheese pizza had a nice crispy crust and pleasant center. Well worth going to this restaurant.

I was taken to this restaurant by a couple of university colleagues, one of which is Italian. Excellent food and service. I recommend the veal scallopina.

You don’t find a good reasonable Italian restaurant easily in center of CPH. Especially ones offering good pasta. Many places only offer good pizza so we were glad to find this place. It’s relatively small but completely full inside and outside. So the service can be slow although very friendly. Pizza was good and so was pasta. Good portion size and price. Not the best one I’ve ever had but I enjoyed food and ambiance. Good place to go out on a date night.

The first restaurant in Copenhagen that I always go back to with a smile on my face. Excellent service as a typical Italian restaurant and very good — authentic — Italian food, from pizza to pasta(I’d say a bit less interesting the desserts, but still good).

oh so slow seating, albeit we didn’t have resys, but no one appeared to have any. the place was hopping. we were told by others also waiting that the food was worth a wait. boy, is it! the homemade cheese ravioli in a sage butter sauce really was a culinary trip to Italian heaven. the four cheese pizza was perfection. add a very cute staff, interesting floor plan and delicious food. although we want to try other restos while we are here this place might draw us back in for more — like a magnet. maybe lunch tomorrow.

This restaurant, recommended to me by an adorable Italian(Roman) manicurist in Copenhagen(she said the pizza was even better than home), was the highlight of a very weird weekend in Copenhagen. After a day tromping around all over the town, with really sore feet and empty stomachs we settled in to this diminutive, charming, multistoried restaurant and ordered ourselves a beautiful dinner(a tagliatelle, a gorgeous ravioli, two pizzas, and salads) that provided a lovely respite from the hectic day. The courses were served in a leisurely but not slow fashion and the flavors were ridiculous. Our server, an accommodating Polish young man(we had to ask, and we had to tell him he was the handomest man in Copenhagen), was very gracious and even tolerated our request for take away boxes for the pizza. Adding to the atmosphere were two rough-yet-chic(large neck tattoo + nice suit) guys sitting next us eating ice cream together, apparently a thing in Scandinavia(no, not really, but we noticed it a lot wherever we went). Glad to know where to go next time I’m in town.

This restaurant feels like someone’s two-story home. Really cute and special atmosphere, particularly the spots that are hidden in the back and in the rooms upstairs. The service was friendly and quick, nothing to complain about. We were a large group and for the most part, all the food showed up at the same time so we weren’t left waiting at any point for very long. The food is great. I really recommend the vitello tonnato for an appetizer. So good we scraped the plate clean of the tuna-mayo sauce. I would probably enjoy just that tuna sauce alone, without the veal underneath. The pizzas are also very good, with a crispy yet chewy thin crust. Yum. Le Quattro Stagioni is a good bet for those that like everything on their pizza(ham, artichoke, mushrooms, anchovies). Some of their pizzas come with fresh tomatos rather than tomato sauce. I don’t like these very much since the cheese becomes the overwhelming flavour and its a bit bland without the acidity from the tomato sauce. But at least they have an option. Really nice food, ambiance, and service.

Ein sehr süßes Restaurant mit leckerster Pizza! Preise sind für Kopenhagen mit dieser Qualität eher günstig. Bezaubernde Bedienungen rundeten einen schönen Restaurantbesuch ab!

Once again, I am on an Italian role… this place is so charming with the décor and how you find it, it’s half the fun. When you step in, you feel like you are stepping into someone’s house. The décor and interior is in this really old Danish house, and it’s very intimate with candles everywhere. The prices are very reasonable for being in the center of the city, and they don’t skimp on portions. My boyfriend had the calzone., and it was the size of his head. I had a great linguine with clams and cherry tomatoes, garlic and olive oil. Simple and perfect. The service was great, and the wine was decent. All in all, one of my new go to’s for Italian places in the city!

Fazit: MUSTSEE and MUSTEAT while visiting Kopenhagen!
