Great, affordable lunch options besides the usual bakery treats and good coffee. Friendly personell and a great hide-out during a rain shower :)

Super friendly, tasty as it gets, simple a really nice discovery for my morning breakfast thanks to some friends, who didn’t want to eat in «my place» and showed me something else.

ARGGGGHHHH!!! People still friendly and helpful… But after my borek epiphany I spent days willing myself to get better by dreaming of the day I could get my greedy little hands on another one. So first weekend I felt right as rain I marched through a crowded Winterfeldmarkt and straight into the bakery only to screech to a sudden halt as I stared down at a collection of unlabelled pale looking curls of pastry! OMG what happened? Despite my better judgement I decided to get one anyway, but it wasn’t as easy as I thought it would be as I couldn’t make out the cheese from the potato one so I enlisted the help of one of the staff, she too had a problem identifying the potato one and had to ask another woman, after much deliberation I finally walked out with a borek. Disaster! Not flaky like the one I had before. Top was pale, bottom was slightly burnt and although there was a lot of filling, the cold potato didn’t really do it for me. They did offer to heat it up for me I have to admit. But the idea is to be able to just grab one and eat it right! My bf and friend also had a bite and looked at me with that, why did she buy this, she must still be sick look! Anyway I took the rest home and reheated it. The pastry did crisp up, but not enough for a save, my borek bubble had burst! Fortunately the rest of the things in the shop still looked pretty fresh and tasty. Maybe I should chance it one more time just in case they were having a bad day. I really want to be proven wrong.
