Hasir

Ich kenne das Hasir bereits aus der Nürnberger Straße und mich schon gewundert warum es hier im Herbst einen Koberer an der Straße braucht, es aber auf die Hinterhoflage geschoben. Nun kenne ich den Grund warum das eigentlich recht gemütliche Restaurant an einem Mittwoch Abend mit nur 6 von ca. 40 Tischen besetzt ist: Hier wird eigentlich recht leckeres Essen zu ¹²⁄₁₃ Euro für ¹⁷⁄₂₂ verkauft. Noch dazu nicht heiß genug. Sehr sehr schade, denn ich liebe türkisch und habe mit dem Hasir ansonsten immer gute Erfahrungen gemacht. Am Hackeschen jedoch muss hier stark nachgearbeitet werden. Lage und Interieur machen eigentlich genug her um hier einen schönen Abend zu verbringen, doch wenn die Liebe zum Gast und Essen fehlt, merkt man das leider.

Mit den kölnischen türkischen Restaurants keineswegs vergleichbar, das Fleisch kam roh an, und wurde wieder zurückgeschickt, service war nicht gut, waren nicht zufrieden

Gute türkische Küche in der Nähe des Hakeschen Marktes. Hier ist es durch die Lage im Gebäude trotz der zentralen Lage sehr ruhig. Das Personal ist flott. Danke.

Preis-​Leistungsverhältnis stimmt meines Erachtens hier gar nicht. Man kann an zig Orten, so auch im Hasir am Kotti, besser und günstiger essen. Erstes und letztes Mal!

Das Essen war wirklich gut. Leider atmosphärisch eingeschränkt, weil äußerst knapp angebundener, ernster Kellner, dem man jedes Wort abringen musste.

Ich hatte einen wirklich netten Abend dort! Selten erlebt man so aufmerksame Kellner !
Die Vorspeisen waren überragend gut. Wir hatten verschiedene an deren Namen ich mich nicht mehr erinner… aber da alles auf nem hohen Niveau war, brauch ich keine besondere Empfehlung aussprechen.
Die Hauptspeise Kalbfleischscheibchen mit Bohnen und Pommes war auch super lecker. Obwohl ich Pommes nicht sehr einfallsreich für ein türkisches Restaurant finde.
Der türkische Rotwein war ebenso excellent. Darum ohne wenn und aber 5 Sterne!

My daughter, wife and I visited Hasir on a cold, damp Wednesday night in Berlin. A short walk from the Hackescher Markt S-​Bahn station, one can easily find the place tucked in a courtyard off the main street. We were warmly greeted at the door and promptly shown to our table in the nicely decorated and inviting dining room. I’d say about half the tables were full this time of the night around 7pm.
After introducing himself, our waiter quickly determined that our command of the German language was severely limited and switched to English. For drinks, I choose a Turkish beer, Efes, from a rather short list of beer choices (at least for Berlin standards), my wife went with a glass of Turkish red wine from a much more extensive list of wines and my daughter picked her usual soda.
To start, we ordered hummus as we always do at a Turkish restaurant but found we had a choice of the standard version or one with bits of meat and other stuff in it. We choose the upgraded version as it was something different. Along with the hummus, we got a huge hunk of bread that was blown up like a balloon and very tasty. They also provided some small dishes of yogurt, cheese, tomatoes and butter along with the bread. While the hummus was good, I would probably go back to the tried and true version on a future visit. It was tasty and we enjoyed it but perhaps a bit too much for us.
For our entrees, my daughter went with the bursa kebap with a yummy yogurt dollop that she thoroughly enjoyed. My wife choose a different kebap (sorry don’t remember the name but check the picture) that was wrapped in a tortilla like shell and served with two kinds of yogurt that she loved. I went with my usual Adana kebap that was served with rice, fries and a small cuban salad. I could have done without the fries but they were fine. The kebap though was very well prepared and to my liking. I wished I had had saved some of the bread earlier to go with it but I instead stole some yogurt from the ladies’ plates to spice it up a bit more. The grilled vegetables were a welcome treat as was the rice. The coban salad had a slightly sweet dressing to it that I found yummy but at this point I was running out of room and couldn’t finish it. I would have preferred to have ben served the salad in advance of my main meal but that’s not how they roll here.
Service here was first rate. Our waiter was very attentive to our needs and helpful in suggesting items from the menu as well as describing them. The menu did have subtitles in English that made selecting even easier for us. There was a large group seated behind us (perhaps an engagement party?) that was at times loud but never bothersome and they added energy to the dining room. There looks to be a nice courtyard outside the main dining room but the weather this night was not condusive to outdoor dining.
We would come back here in a heartbeat on a future visit to Berlin. The service was excellent, the prices reasonable and the food delicious.

Die Location in der Oranienburger Straße ist nett, wenn auch bereits etwas vernachlässigt. Und dieses Gefuehl zog sich durch den kompletten Abend: nett empfangen, freundlich an den reservierten Tisch gebracht verloren die vielen Kellner schnell den Überblick. Kein Flachs — wir sind von vier Kellnern um eine Bestellung gebeten worden.
Bier und Wasser kam dann zügig, genauso wie die Vorspeise. Der Tomatensalat mit Zwiebeln, Walnuessen, Granatapfeldressing war leicht übersäuert, dennoch lecker und reichhaltig, aber mit € 7,50 auch kein Schnapp.
Maechtig enttäuscht war ich von de Hauptspeise: die Buletten mit Kaese (der fehlte in den Buletten), Pommes und Reis (kalt und winzig als Beilage) — und Salat (der kam wiederum nur auf Abfrage). Alles in allem lieblos hingeknallt und für € 14,50 viel zu teuer. Meine Begleitung aß eine vegetarische Vorspeise, die ok war.
Je spaeter (wir haben die Location am Samstag Abend um 22.30 Uhr verlassen) desto unglaublich unfreundlich/​desinteressierter wurden die Service-​Kräfte. Hä? Ich dachte, wir seien in Berlin Mitte!!?
Die Sanitären Anlagen sehr ungepflegt
Wir wurden das Gefuehl nicht los, dass dieses Restaurant sich sehr auf seinen Ruf ausruht und offensichtlich die beste Zeit hinter sich hat. Willkommen haben wir uns gar nicht gefühlt.
Ich versuche gerne wieder den Standort in Kreuzberg, aber die Oranienburger Straße sollte man meiden. Echt schade.

insanely good Turkish food and great service

Leckere türkische Speisen. Was außerdem den 5. Stern rechtfertigt, sind die sehr aufmerksamen und freundlichen Kellner sowie die entspannte Atmosphäre. Top!

La première fois que je suis allé manger à qu’à dur, c’était sur recommandation d’un ami turc berlinois. Il m’a dit: «demande un iskender kebap» et c’est exactement ce que j’ai fait. C’était tellement bon que c’en était émouvant ! Par contre, le reste, c’est juste pour remplir le menu, ignorez le reste surtout leurs desserts assez moyens. Préférez un bon baklavaci recommandé sur ce site

Da ich hier erst einmal gegessen habe gebe ich noch keine echte Essenskritik ab, nur einen Hinweis — das Essen war aber wirklich gut (ich bin mir nur noch nicht sicher, ob es die hohen Preise rechtfertigt).
Wir waren im Innenhof gesessen und eine Sache hat sehr genervt: An einer Wand sind verttikal Neonröhren zur Beleuchtung des überdachten Innenhofes angebracht. Wenn man so sitzt, dass man an diese Wand schaut, wird man permanent geblendet und erkennt sein Gegenüber kaum. Für ein eher besseres Restaurant finde ich das ein no-​go. Beim Reservieren sollte man also darauf achten, dass im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes niemand in die Röhre schaut!
Außerdem befindet sich im Hof der Zugang zu einem Club im Keller, in den ab einer bestimmten Uhrzeit Horden von jungen Menschen auf geführten Sauftouren hinein und wieder herausgeleitet werden. Es war nicht sehr laut, aber man sollte darauf gefasst sein, falls man z.B. zu einem romantischen Dinner einladen möchte.

Für mich das beste türkische Restaurant/​Restaurantkette der Stadt! Das Essen ist meilenweit entfern von dem Dönerbudenessen! Es bietet wirklich abwechslungsreiche und qualitativ sehr hochwertige Speisen! Die Kellner sind sehr nett und aufmerksam! Das Restaurantambiente (Oranienburger Str.) ist ganz hervorragend; drinnen ist es äußerst gemütlich und niveauvoll eingerichtet. Draußen sitzt man in einem kleinen Hinterhof, der — trotz mitten in der Stadt — genügend Ruhe und Entspannung anbietet! Meine absolute Empfehlung: unbedingt die gemischten Vorspeisen probieren!

This place was great, very good food, lovely environment either inside or outside and the service was very pleasant.

Wir haben schon viel gutes über dieses Restaurant gehört. Zeit es auszuprobieren. Zugegeben es war schon etwas spàter am Abend als wir kamen dennoch war noch einiges los. Die Karte war interessant allerdings hatten wir das Gefühl der Kellner konnte oder wollte uns nicht richtig verstehen. Die Vorspeisen waren nicht schlecht aber auch nicht toll, das Brot kalt und die Suppen geschmacklos. Die Hauptgänge wurden sehr ansprechend serviert und die Qualität wär gut. Vor allem das Auberginenpüree ist positiv in Erinnerung geblieben. Insgesamt könnte man einiges einfach schöner machen. Aber ausprobieren lohnt sich.

If i could rate it zero I would! The experience was terrible. Our waiter was rude, unaccommodating, told us that items weren’t available when clearly they were, and worst of all when we put 50 euros down for our 35 euro dishes (which is expensive for what we got) he pointed out that tip wasn’t included. It doesn’t stop there … once we left a tip (although frustrated) we realized that he had taken his own tip from the 50 euros we had left and the change we received wasn’t the full amount!!! Robbery!!! Also, it is right beside a club so it’s quite loud at night with music and drunk tourists.

My wife and I came here on a recent visit to Berlin. Fortunately, the evening we came here was beautiful and warm. So while we weren’t able to eat on the outside sidewalk tables, we had a seat along the wide open windows.
We split a borek appetizer and I ordered the lamb kabobs with vegetables. There isn’t really a good way to describe the kabobs other than that they passed the test. I would definitely recommend a stop at this place for anyone looking for a traditional, tasty, and affordable Turkish meal.
As a bonus, for a visitor who had never been to Berlin before, the neighborhood that this location is in is very interesting and lively and should not be missed.

Die Lage in Mitte: Top
Das Essen: Top. Den Vorspeisenteller sollte man unbedingt bestellen. Das frische Fladenbrot kommt direkt aus dem Ofen und ist richtig fluffig.
Ich hatte den Grillteller — sehr lecker.

Freundliche und schnelle Bedienung. Essen war auch gut.

Hat sehr nachgelassen. In jeder Hinsicht. Es wirkt so als ruht man sich auf seinem Ruf aus. Touristenfalle trifft es ganz gut.

Während unseres Berlinbesuchs wollten wir unbedingt auch einmal ein türkisches Restaurant ausprobieren. Unsere Wahl fiel auf das Restaurant Hasir in Berlin Mitte.
Es ist Bestandteil einer ganzen Restaurantkette, dessen Filialen über ganz Berlin verteilt sind. Ein recht schöner Internetauftritt ist vorhanden, leider sind auf der Speisekarte keine Preise ausgezeichnet. Wir hatten vorher telefonisch reserviert und waren gegen 12:00 Uhr im Restaurant. Sehr erstaunt waren wir, dass wir zu dieser Zeit die einzigen Gäste waren. Uns wurde ein schön gedeckter Tisch mit Blick in den grünen Innenhof zugewiesen.
Das Ambiente im Innenbereich ist angemessen orientalisch gestaltet, eine Musikuntermalung wurde ebenfalls geboten. Unsere bestellten Getränke wurden recht zeitnah geliefert, die Getränkepreise lagen etwas über Durchschnitt. Die Speisenauswahl war sehr umfangreich, wir orderten das Mittagsangebot, Tavuk Külbasti, also laut Karte entbeintes würziges Hühnerfleisch vom Grill mit Reis, Pommes und Salatbeilage. Für dieses Mittagsangebot wurde ein Preis von 10,50 € aufgerufen, eigentlich angemessen. Abends kostet das Gericht über 14, — €, für mein Gefühl zu teuer. Geschmacklich gab es nichts auszusetzen, zartes Fleisch, moderat gewürzt und leckeres, frisch gebackenes Brot. Alles so wie es sein sollte.
Die männliche Bedienung war aufmerksam und auf seine Art lustig.
Fazit: gut gewürzte Gerichte, schönes Ambiente, Getränke hochpreisig, Mittagsangebote nutzen

Super leckeres Lamm, dass wirklcih zart war und mit Kartoffeln und Reis kam!

Die Kellnern sind flink und wirkliche Könner!

My friends and I decided to stop by this place following the Berlin marathon. I saw it was well reviewed on Unilocal so I naturally thought it was worth taking a chance on.
The restaurant is in a touristy neighbourhood but is well appointed and it made a good first impression. That is, until I was introduced to our arrogant waiter. As we were getting seated he seemed very anxious and insistent that we choose a wine. I inquired if the restaurant would allow us to bring in outside wine (we happened to have a bottle on hand) and charge us a corkage fee (a practice that is quite common in some areas of North America and Europe). In return I got a snort and a lecture on how the restaurant «was a business». I’m well aware of the economics behind the restaurant industry and was simply asking a question. His response, with the implication that I was an idiot for even asking, was not well received by me. Bristling, I then consulted the wine menu while the waiter animatedly insisted we try a certain type of white wine (can’t recall the name). When I told him we wanted the Pinot Grigio he again insisted that we take his suggestion «because it was cheaper». I insisted he bring us what we asked for and he made a big show of flapping shut the wine list and storming off.
The rest of the evening were a series of rude encounters with this jacka**. At one point, he (in elevated tones) boasted about how he once served Prince Charles and was once rated the best waiter in Europe (1998), I felt like saying «That might be true mate, but in 2012, you are a condescending jerk.»
The coup-​de-​grace for the evening was when he came over, after the table next to us had left, to inform us how much they tipped him. Wow, classy! In the end, I’m pretty sure he overcharged us too because the bill was written out in a series of codes that were indecipherable.
Nice place, good food, but the service SUCKED. I’ll never go back. Ironically, the next day as I was exploring Berlin by bike, I found another restaurant called «Hasir» in the Turkish district. I looked much more authentic and popular. While I didn’t have time to check it out, I will try it next time.

A great Turkish restaurant in the vibrant Hackescher Markt area. The restaurant is very nice and prices are really good. The waiter was very pleasant and the food arrived quite quick as well. We had all some sort of grill dishes and they all were cooked to perfection. The lamb skewers very moist and tasty.
Can certainly recommend it.

We went here after 10pm and were pleased to find they were still serving dinner. The courtyard setting was a nice surprise and there were thoughtful blankets at very table for chilly evenings. I asked the waiter about ‘paunch soup’ to which he responded ‘it’s Turkish soup, you don’t like it it lady.’ I persisted and asked what was in it, vegetables? No, he said, it had bacon. I ended up ordering the lentil soup instead and the chopped tomato salad — Acili Antep Ezmeci while my husband ordered the Beyti kebab.
The red wine from Turkey was smooth and soft, the soup delicious. The food was good but not outstanding.
We had an experience similar to Ben M. on tripadvisor. The waiter was somewhat indifferent and really put us off by suggesting we add the tip. We asked for the itemized bill and another waiter brought it to us, pointing out that gratuity had already been added. Not cool!

This is simply outstanding. This may be the best Turkish meal I have ever had and I have been to Turkey twice.

Räumlichkeiten
Im Innenraum ist das Restaurant schlicht, aber trotzdem betont türkisch eingerichtet. Die Tische sind sauber und werden mit Platzläufern ausgestattet.
Draußen gibt es eine überdachte Terrasse und es liegen auch Decken für den Kälteeinbruch bereit.
Die Toiletten überzeugen jedoch nicht. Diese sehen mit ihrem metallernen
Outfit aus wie Raststättentoiletten. Besonders sauber sind sie
ebenfalls nicht und bei einer Toilettentür war das Schloss herausgebrochen.

Essen und Trinken
Hier erwarten einen türkische Gerichte: Suppen, eine große Auswahl von
kalten und warmen Gerichten, sowie typische Grillgerichte. Daneben gibt
es auch international beliebte Gerichte wie Steaks, Römertöpfe oder
Tartufo.
Die Gerichte wirken auf den ersten Blick übersichtlich, doch sättigen
sie sehr gut. Geschmacklich gibt es wenig auszusetzen, jedoch möchte ich
die Temperierung der warmen Vorspeisenplatte bemängeln. Hier werden
vier verschiedene Gerichte als Miniportionen gereicht. Die Temperatur
dieser zeigte eine Bandbreite von kalt bis superheiß. Das kann man doch sicher noch optimieren.
Wir probierten auch den türkischen Wein, der eine sehr interessante Note hat: Trocken, aber mit Honignachgeschmack. Durchaus zu empfehlen.

Preis– und Leistungsverhältnis
Die warmen oder kalten Vorspeisen kosten bis 10Euro. Hauptgerichte mit Fleisch bewegen sich um die 13Euro. Der offene Wein kostet pro 0,2l 5Euro.
Durchaus gehobene Preise. Diese werden aber zum Teil durch das Ambiente und den guten Service entschädigt.

Fazit
Sicherlich ist dieses Restaurant nicht für den alltäglichen
Gebrauch zu empfehlen, da es teilweise zu touristisch und auch vom
Preisniveau eher gehoben ist.
Speisen, Service und Ambiente überzeugen trotzdem zum größten Teil und so kann man hier ab und an doch einen angenehmen Abend verbringen.

Excellent food!

Scheint mir ein authentischers, modernes türkisches Restaurant zu sein. Im Gegensatz zu anderen fand ich es sauber und freundlich. Und dass Qualität seinen Preis hat, ist eine altbekannte Weisheit. Und es ist nicht irgend ein schummriges Lokal im Hinterhof.
Also ich fand es gut, freundlich und fair. Also zwischen 3 und 4 Sternen

No lie, when I came here at 11 at night, I was ridiculously dru-​… hungry.
A friend and I stumbled upon the bright lights and fancy looking menu while searching for doner kebabs and a readily accessible bathroom and thought, «Close enough!» Being very… hungry, we got an appetizer to share for two but my friend decided to also order a clay pot meal after we couldn’t find a doner-​type dish in our starving state. Because I was equally ravished, I ordered the chicken clay pot dish with rice as well and we were presented with a plethora of food to satisfy any particularly «hungry» person close to midnight on a Friday. The appetizer mixer I remember as having many fried portions, but was intensely filling. The chicken was not so much a doner type, off the spinning spit, but more so cooked in off the bone pieces with peppers and onions. It was delicious and satisfying but when I woke up and wasn’t so «hungry» the next morning, I was shocked by the 33 euro bill that accompanied the night before. Mein Gott!
This place is better for a well thought out dinner. If you’re particularly «hungry,» stick to doner stands and mini pizzas.
On the plus side, this place takes credit cards unlike the majority of German joints. Hallelujah!

This place is good, real good. I had a few other doners from different restaurants and tried to convince my boyfriend to fork out the € for the best of the best — I did my research I told him. Time out named them the best doner I told him.
He finally agreed. Guess what? We went back the next day!
We had the lamb and beef platters and kebab. The platters were huge and I recommend to share. The sandwich was amazing, soft fluffy pita, some fresh juicy tomatoes, fresh lettuce and shaved doner kebab. It was fan-​freaking-​fabulous.
My boyfriend keeps trying to find the same quality back in NYC. If anyone knows, please do tell me. Turkish is usually dry and spiced well but lacks saucy stuff that we enjoy. Hasir proved to be like nothing else or any other doner we have ever had — and we have had them all over the world — yes, even in Asia.
Listen, my boyfriend is picky and not adventurous in terms of food, he returned to Berlin on a second business trip and went to hasir multiple times, just because he wanted it so bad after we left the first time. He even came back and boasted about it… really? I reminded him who’s idea it was to go in the first place…
If you go to Berlin, go to the kruezberg one, and then you can chill in a cool lounge/​bar on orienstrass after… or shop the cute little boutiques… it’s Berlin’s answer to soho/​west village…

Decidimos cenar en el legendario restaurante turco Hasir. Y no en uno cualquiera sino en el de Oranienburger Str., el que mejor marca su evolución de pequeño Imbiss en Kreuzberg (donde en los años 70 se inventó el Döner Kebab) a éste, el de Mitte, de decoración cuidada y camareros uniformados. Recommend. Good spot for a big party — which is what we did.
The food was great and the dishes were well staggered over the course of 2 hrs. The staff didn’t miss a chance to top up glasses and bring more booze. Spent nearly a grand there and everyone had a good time.

Dass die türkische Küche mehr als nur schnelle Gerichte kennt, dürfte jedem Türkei-​Besucher vorort klar geworden sein. Sie kommt eigentlich ohne Öl nicht aus, sowohl das Gemüse als auch das Fleisch sind in der Regel gut darin gewälzt, bevor sie dann gegrillt werden.
Das Hasir gibt es einige Male in Berlin: an der Nürnberger Str. im Westen ebnso wie in der Adalbertstraße in Kreuzberg und eben auch an der Oranienburgerstraße in Mitte. Der Besitzer des Restaurants Mehmet Ayguen ist gelernter Fleischer und wird allgemein als der Erfinder des Döner Kebaps im Fladenbrot genannt. Sein heutiges kleines Imperium begann er mit einer Imbissbudde in Kreuzberg.
Das Restaurant Hair Mitte liegt im HIntergebäude und verfügt über einen schicken Innehof. Das Personal ist durchweg türkischer Abstammung. Die Verbindung zu «Titanic», einem Hotelprojekt in der Türkei, bei dem es sich um ein Objekt ähnlich dem Aussehen eines Kreuzfahrtschiff handelt, ist mir noch unklar. Trotzdem sind im gesamten Restaurant und vorallem im Souterrain BIlder davon zu sehen. Ob sich Ayguen hier eingekauft hat lässt sich nur erahnen.

i went on my first dinner date here with my boyfriend, so this place holds some fond memories for me nice authentic atmosphere with really fresh foods including lamb, kebap, chicken, lentil soup and a great starter platter that has hummus, baba ganoush, tatsziki, flatbread and other yummy snackycakes. the meats are grilled and the service is fast. really nice place if you are into turkish food.
