This is a really nicely stocked grocery store in an airport/​train station. Off the tourist track.
Great place to grab last minute food souvenir items or just a to-​go meal for your flight. I also brought food to take on the train as I continued my travel to other parts of Germany during my inbound part of mg visit.
Prices are very reasonable and even better if you look for on sale items. They have very friendly staff, from the ones working at the meat counter to the check-​out line.
I also really appreciated the staff members working through my haltering and not fluent German.

Morgens um 6 Uhr sind selten frische Brötchen da und manche Mitarbeiter nicht gerade freundlich. Gerade für Nachtschichtarbeiter ungünstig!

Every time I fly to Europe, I try to plan a layover in Frankfurt for at least 3 hours. Aside from exploring the airport, this time is heavily dedicated to tegut. Conveniently located just 5 min from the check-​in stands, tegut is a way for me to stock up on pretty much everything that we just don’t have in America (or rather don’t have in such variety or quality).
This includes: yogurt, chocolate and cheese. American yogurt is nothing compared to the plethora of choices that can be found in Germany, and tegut pretty much has them all. Although more and more European chocolate is making its way to the U.S., you still can’t find the best stuff for such a great price. Don’t even get me started about cheese…
One bad thing that I’ve noticed is the decline in selection. My last visit to tegut before this recent one was over a year ago, and I remember the selection of everything (especially chocolate) to be a lot more vast. Tegut is still a great place to stock up on anything you need. Whether it’s your stop at the beginning or the end of your journey, it will always fill your taste buds with joy.

Von morgens früh bis abends spät geöffnet: der tegut im Flughafen. Und natürlich nicht zu vergessen: auch am Wochenende: das rettet so manches ausgedehnte Sonntagsfrühstück, wenn man mal wieder so gar nichts im Haus und es wieder nicht rechtzeitig geschafft hat. Also wie gesagt nicht nur für Reisende und Flughafenmitarbeiter ideal. Hier gibt es alles was das Herz begehrt und alles was Mensch mal schnell braucht, sogar immer frisches Obst und Gemüse und eine große Auswahl an Wurst und Käse und Fleisch. Sehr gut sortiert, sehr sauber und preislich top. Auch die Angestellten sind meist recht hilfsbereit und freundlich (von 1 – 2 Ausnahmen mal abgesehen, aber kein Wunder bei dem Andrang zu Stoßzeiten), was den Einkauf zusätzlich angenehm macht. Klasse sind auch die vielen Bioprodukte und Fairtrade-​Waren und auch die internationalen Spezialitäten. Auch in Punkto Schokolade /​Pralinen und Käse ist tegut sehr gut aufgestellt. Ein überzeugender Laden, der alles richtig macht!
