Horrible customer service — not worth spending a minute here. The store attendant was too lazy to open half the shop. When we asked to see something, he asked if we lived in Munich and then refused us service when we said we were tourists. He said they are too busy to help us, and we were the only people in the store! Places with such horrible customer service would not survive in the US. Don’t waste your time.

I WAS DENIED SERVICE BECAUSE ‘I DONT LOOK LIKE I AM FROM MUNICH’
My wife and I are visiting Germany from San Francisco, USA, for a friend’s wedding. We had an extra day on our hand and decided to take a quick tour of Munich. We are currently furnishing our home, and really liked one of the pendant lights on display here. So we entered the store and asked the salesman to show the light to us. The first question he asked, without any context or explanation, was «do you live in Munich?». We said no but we really liked the light and may want to buy it. He said you don’t look like you are from Munich and we won’t give service to you. We reminded him that it is still business operating hours and they are open, so they should offer us service or provide explanation to us why they won’t offer service to us. But he showed us the door and said he «was busy». Let me remind you that there was not a single other person in the room except me, my wife, and this salesman. And he told us to leave the store because «we don’t look like we are from Munich».
For me, this incident is absolutely unacceptable. I am to contact the German Bureau of Tourism and the General Manager of the store. We intend to follow up on the case until we hear concrete steps taken by the store and the company to make sure incidents like this do not happen again. I also have video footage of the incident in case anyone is interested in the details.
At best, this is terrible, completely unacceptable customer service. At face value, this smells like really bad (I am dark-​skinned and speak English with an accent).
After all, what would you make of someone who tells you to leave the store «because you don’t look like you are from Munich.»
