Das Essen ist super lecker und sehr authentisch wenn ich es mit meiner Israelreise vergleiche. (Hoffe es ist politisch okay das Essen zu vergleichen) Dazu noch dieser Preis, wie macht ihr das?!?

Das Beste Essen für den kleinen und großen Hunger in der Innenstadt!
Besonders Hummus im Pitabrot mit Salat macht mich satt und so glücklich… Danke Sabada, dass ich keine Kichererbsen mehr einweichen, kochen und pürieren muss. Dank dir bin ich jeden Tag mit frisch gemachtem Hummus versorgt!

Grossartig! Ich hatte bei meinen vorherigen zwei Muenchen-​Abstechern hier schon mal vegetarische Tellergerichte genossen, die beide Male richtig lecker waren. So zieht es mich auch jetzt waehrend meiner zwei Job-​Wochen am Rindermarkt um’s Eck immer hier her auf den schoenen Viktualienmarkt. Die guten Erinnerungen haben mich auch nicht getauscht: Das Essen ist immer noch genau so lecker wie 2012 und 2015, das Serviceteam ist weiterhin auch im groessten Mittagsstress jederzeit hoeflich und die Preise sind auch einfach unschlagbar geblieben. (Zum Mitnehmen: Warmes Pitabrot mit Humus und Gruenzeug nach Wahl fuer 3.50 Euro, Falafel im Pitabrot zu 4.90 Euro…)
Falls ich mittags mal was anderes essen muss (Kollegenwuensche…), dann schnapp ich abends noch schnell irgendwas Leckeres im Pitabrot auf. Herrlichkeit! Ich finden den aelteren Kassierer/​Bestellannahme-​Gentleman uebrigens wunderbar… dem sieht man den Schalk im Nacken richtig an. Zu schoen!
Ich freu mich schon jetzt auf meinen morgigen Abstecher zu Sababa :)

The falafels are nice and crispy and the bread is freshly baked, however sometimes it tastes like the bread has been sitting there longer than it should. I like the fact that you can put the salad and veggies in by yourself. Good for take away or a quick bite!

Gestern waren wir aufgrund der vielen positiven Bewertungen da und wurden nicht enttäuscht. Wir hatten Glück, da ein Pärchen aufstand und wir deren schnuckeliges Plätzchen bekamen, denn es war gerammelt voll! Es stehen draußen ein paar wenige Tische und drinnen ca. 4 Tische mit Barhocker zur Verfügung. Mein Freund und ich teilten uns den hier so angepriesenen Vorspeisenteller… und wow… er war himmlisch! Er ist vegetarisch (ich glaube, es gibt dort auch kein Fleisch) und wirklich besonders lecker! Dazu gibt’s ein kleines Fladenbrot. Das nächste Mal werd ich davon 2 bestellen, denn eins ist für den großen Teller zu wenig! Wir kommen wieder… denn was gibts schöneres, als lecker zu essen und dann noch auf dem Viktualienmarkt zu sein???

Nach meinem Israel-​Urlaub hatte ich mal wieder richtig Lust auf Falafel, Hummus und Co bekommen. In München ist das so eine Sache mit den Falafel. Ich habe noch nirgends richtig gute Falafel bekommen. Außer hier. Die Falafel sind knusprig und sehr gut gewürzt (mit einer guten Prise Petersilie). Oftmals ist es auch so, dass es in München nur partiell Hummus gibt, d.h. es gibt ihn nicht jeden Tag oder man muss schnell sagen, da es ihn nur Vormittags gibt. In manchen Läden es gibt dann wieder zwar Falafel aber gar kein Hummus. Hier gibt es jeden Tag Hummus und Falafel.
Das Ambiente ist natürlich wie in einem Imbiss, also nichts für ein romantisches Dinner mit der Liebsten. Aber die Leute dort sind sehr nett und gehen auch auf persönliche Vorlieben ein. Außerdem gibt es draußen auch ein paar Stehtische, von wo aus man gut das Treiben auf dem Viktualienmarkt beobachten kann.

Wer Lust auf arabische Köstlichkeiten hat ist hier genau richtig!
Etwas versteckt im Viktualienmarkt erwarten einen wunderbare, frisch zubereitete Falafel, selbstgebackenes Brot und großartige Vorspeisen! Preislich absolut in Ordnung! Ich war jetzt schon 2x da und freue wahnsinnig auf den nächsten Besuch! Bisher ganz klar die Besten Falafel in München!!!

Clean and delicious food at an affordable price, what to ask more in a food market?!
I loved the falafel (50 cents each) served also in a sandwich or on a plate with various veggies. I went for the chicken shawarma sandwich that was mostly a chicken Kebab with a lot of cumin spice and a dash of hummus in a pita bread. What I really like is that you get to put the toppings of your sandwich by yourself as the sauces too. A really nice touch.
Owner of the place is friendly and does really good. I understand the good reviews and I do also recommend that the place for a quick lunch.

Frische Zutaten, sehr nette Bedienung, was kann man noch dazu sagen als, bessere Falafel bekommt man auch nicht in Tel Aviv!

This is a tiny stand at Viktualianmarkt with really good, fresh Mediterranean food. They have great mezze platters– with hummus and other different spreads, falafel, fried haloumi, meats and salad stuff. Great place to go for something fresh and different from the other stands around VIktualianmarkt!

Yummy food, healthy portions and all for a fair price.
I enjoyed the halloumi and falafel plate, it was a nice mix of hummus, salad, bright greens and a tangy surprise of pickled veggies.

In short, the best Falafel in Munich

Nachdem ich nun meine Mittagspausen in der Münchner Innenstadt verbringe, fiel mir das Sababa auf dem Viktualienmarkt wieder ein. Bei jedem Einkauf gesehen, aber nie getestet — bis jetzt.
Das Januar-​Traumfrühlingswetter trieb mich heute zum Viktualienmarkt zu Sababa. Ein sehr charmanter, freundlicher Libanese. Der Service ist sehr hilfsbereit, wenn der Imbiss zum ersten Mal besucht wird. Man kann den Herrn nahezu ein Loch in den Bauch fragen.
Für mich gab es heute Falafel im Pita-​Brot (€ 3,95). Als erstes fiel mir auf, daß das Pita-​Brot selbst hergestellt wird und frisch gebacken ist. Die Falafel-​Bällchen werden ebenfalls immer frisch zubereit.
Der Gast erhält das mit Falafel-​Bällchen gefüllte Pita-​Brot und kann an der Salattheke seine persönliche Salatmischung mit der Sauce seiner Wahl selbst hinzugeben.
Das heutige Frühlingswetter ließ das beheizte Zelt offen und dementsprechend voll waren die kleinen Stehtische. Aber zum Glück bietet der Vikutalienmarkt noch ein paar Sitzmöglichkeiten.
Bei schönem Wetter empfiehlt es sich, etwas Zeit einzuplanen.

I have gone to Sababa a few times. Each time, I have left with a full stomach at a minimal cost — The cost is typically around 15 euro for 2, not bad!
The Chicken Schwarma is out of this world. You can «build your own» pita by picking ingredients to go inside — there are no off the shelf options here.
The only drawback to Sababa? Its next to impossible to find a seat during peak hours!

My favorite Middle Eastern go-​to downtown. The shwarma /​falafel plates have a great variety for a great price. Seating is hard to get — I recommend having one person remain outside to claim a spot once one opens!

Okay, die Herren hinter der Theke sind NICHT immer nett. Wurden angeschnauzt weil wir gemeinsam bestellen, aber getrennt zahlen wollten. Zu kompliziert. Der ältere Herr hörte gar nicht mehr auf zu schimpfen und zu zetern. Nicht schön.

Fantastic falafel and the best part is they let you put your toppings and sauces yourself which is great. The falafel itself had great flavor and right texture. We didn’t order other items but they also looked quite good

Hier komme ich öfter hin, die Schawarma war super lecker! Aber von vorne:
AMBIENTE:
Etwas «besserer» Imbiss, also nichts für eine lange Verweildauer und ohne Bedienung an den Tischen. Es gibt ein paar kleine Steh/​Bartische und bei schönem Wetter auch draußen eine Sitzmöglichkeit. Innen ist es recht dunkel und warm und vorallem Mittags wegen der Schlange stehenden Menschen auch unruhig und voll. Wer also gemütlich und entspannt Mittags bedient werden will, ist hier falsch. Als kleiner Bonus: Gegenüber sind Bänke und Treppeb, man kann also das Essen mitnehmen und sich bei schönem Wetter draußen hinsetzen.
PRESI:
Vegane Pitattaschen (Humus oder Avocado) kosten 3,50, größere Teller von 5,90 bis 9,90 Euro, soweit ich mich erinnere. Meine Schawarma in der Pita hat 4,20 Euro gekostet.
MENUE:
Es gibt einerseits gefüllte Pitataschen oder «Tellergerichte». Bei den Taschen bekommt man die Hauptzutat hineingefüllt und kann dann Salat und Sauce selbst einfüllen. Es gab eine hervorragende Sesamsauce und eine etwas banale schwarfe Sauce. Letztere schmeckte arg nach Fertigsauce. Als Salatfüllung gibt es mehr als man vom normalen Döner gewohnt ist. Z.B. noch Kapern, eingelegte Zwiebeln, Möhren — alles kann gemischt werden, wie es das Herz begehrt. Ich habe mir meinen ehrlich gessagt etwas überladen, weil einfach alles so lecker aussah. Tipp: Sauce erst aufs Fleisch, dann Grünzeug nach Bedarf und dann nochmal Sauce — so ist es gut gemischt.
Die Teller sind überaus gut gefüllt und können bei kleinem/​normalen Hunger auch geteilt werden.Ggf. nach einem zweiten Pita-​Brot fragen. Hier kann allerdings nicht selbst gemischt werden, so wie ich das mitbekommen habe.
TIPPS:
— Man kann auch einzelne Falafel für 50 cent kaufen, wenn man zu einem Gericht ohne Falafel mal eine probieren möchte
— Platikgabeln sind nach Anfrage verfügbar und durchaus auch zum Essen gefüllter Pita-​Brote zu empfehlen (eigene Erfahrung bei überladener Pita!!)
— Bei schönem Wetter mitnehmen und auf den Treppen gegenüber essen
— Einen Teller und eine Pitatasche zu zweit teilen
— Vegane Speisen vorhanden
— Mittags genug Zeit einplanen, da man schon mal 10 Minuten in der Schlange stehen kann

Wenn es einen Laden gibt der sich «Best…in Town» nennen dürfte, dann das Sababa. Der Laden zeichnet sich bei mir immer wieder aus durch die gleichbleibend hohe Qualität der Speisen und des Services. Beeindruckend.

Super Falafel, wie in Israel kann man sich die Pita selbst befüllen. Hummus und Labane sind auch gut und man kann Za´atar und arabischen Kaffee kaufen. die Betreiber sind sehr witzig und unglaublich nett. Kann man regelmäßig machen.

Absolutely amazing! The portions are huge, the price is reasonable, and the food is delicious! The pita bread is some of the best pita I’ve ever had. I had the mixed vegetarian platter and it was awesome! So plentiful. The owner is super friendly and was their to help my Mom and I find a seat (she has mobility issues). This isn’t a big place. It’s located in the Viktualienmarkt, right on the edge. There’s very limited seating space and it’s mostly outdoors. Go here!

Sababa ist der Imbiss meiner Wahl, wenn es um Falafel geht! Ich kenne den kleinen Laden beim Viktualienmarkt schon seit ein paar Jahren und gehe dort immer wieder gerne hin, wenn ich mittags/​nachmittags in der Stadt bin und Hunger habe. Die Falafel sind frisch gemacht und alle Zutaten sehen frisch aus! Für den kleinen Hunger gibt es Falafel in einem Pitabrot. Das Tolle ist, dass man das Pitabrot dann mit diversen Zutaten belegen kann, wie man möchte! Salat, Kohl, Tomten, Oliven, Pepperoni, eingelegte Aubgernen, etc.
Auch Pitabrote nur mit Hummus oder Avocadopaste zum selber Belegen gibt es, sind allesamt zu empfehlen! Die Leute dort sind immer sehr freundlich und man muss nie lange warten, bis das Essen ferit zubereitet ist. Man kann das Essen für unterwegs mitnehmen, aber sich auch auf den paar kleinen Tischen mit Stühlen niederlassen.

Wer die aktuelle Unilocal-​Kategorisierung «Orientalisches RESTAURANT» für bare Münze nimmt, wird herb enttäuscht werden: handeklt es sich doch um eine Imbissbude mit einem beheizbaren Kunststoffzelt davor. Man hat zwar Heizstrahler installiert und die waren gestern auch eingeschaltet, es war aber trotzdem ungemütlich kalt.
Außerdem erfolgt die Belieferung durch den Vordereingang und da blieb dann auch oft die Tür offen.
Ein paar dunkle Hochstühle und –tische (meiner wackelte), darauf Kakteen: das Ambiente ist spartanisch.
Die Herren im Verkauf waren sehr freundlich und schnell.
Ich entschied mich für den gemischten Vorspeisenteller mit allerhand Cremes, Hummus, zwei Falafel, Peperoni, gefüllten Weinblättern etc und einem kleinen Pitabrot (€ 8,50). Es hat mir gut geschmeckt und gesättigt. Dadurch, dass der Teller fertig in der Kühlvitrine stand, waren mir die Speisen aber zu kalt.
Prima finde ich die große Auswahl an vegetarischen Gerichten.
Alles in allem würde ich das «Sababa» nur im Sommer empfehlen.

Der Laden ist mir schon seit langem durch seine Platzierung in den Top5 Münchens aufgefallen und nun habe ich ihn endlich mal testen können. Entschieden habe ich mich für den Klassiker — den Falafel-​Teller und einen Becher Ayran. Die Crew ist super nett, der Laden (wahrscheinlich) immer voll und die Preise fair.
Sababa ist eine gute Wahl für schnelles bezahlbares Essen in der Innenstadt.
5 Sterne!

Am Rande des Viktualienmarktes, versteckt zwischen den ganzen anderen Ständen, verbirgt sich das Sababa und verkauft, für meinen Geschmack, die besten Falafel der Stadt. Es ist sogar so gut versteckt dass wir Schwierigkeiten hatten den Laden überhaupt zu finden und sind am Anfang sogar zwei mal direkt daran vorbei gelaufen ohne ihn zu sehen.
Obwohl wir 5 Minuten nach Ladenschluss (19:05 Uhr) erst dort waren, waren die Leute so nett und haben mir noch schnell ein Falafel Sandwich to-​go gemacht. Toll! Für 3,90 € bekommt man so eines und kann es nach Wunsch belegen lassen. Zum Beispiel mit Tomate, Gurke und Karotte. Dann noch ein Schuss Sesamsauce und Chilli drauf und fertig ist der leckere Snack.
Geschmacklich 1A und dann auch noch für den Preis! Top!

Why can’t they have places like this where I live?! The falafel sandwiches here are so good. I love simple deliciousness. In fact, I believe sometimes the fewer ingredients the better, so when I was handed a hot pita filled with falafel fried to perfection with a swoosh of hummus, my stomach growled with excitement.
Before doctoring it up, the sandwich was already perfect. Three such well made components that I appreciated so much: taking out the time to make freshly toasted pita, 4 crispy and flavorful falafels and creamy and savory hummus! That certainly would have been enough for me, but I added some creamy dressing, spicy sauce and tomatoes and cucumbers.
Everything was so great and we even returned here the day before leaving Munich for an repeat performance. The service is friendly and I cannot say how much I appreciate the attention to detail they take here – not only to make sure you’re getting a sandwich that is quality, but chatting with you and asking how you like the food. We didn’t get much interaction service-​wise in Munich, so this was definitely appreciated.

Schon mal vor weg: ein echter Geheimtipp!
Mitten auf dem Viktualienmarkt verbirgt sich das Sababa.
3 sehr nette Leute haben vor Ort geschnibbelt und gewerkelt. In der Theke sieht man alle sehr frischen Zutaten/​Salate/​Dips, was einem richtig Appetit bereitet.
Ich habe mir einen Vorspeisenteller für 8,50 € und einen Ayran (1,5 €) bestellt, der mir im Nu frisch gemacht an den Tisch gebracht wurde.
Es war wirklich alles drauf (Humus, Auberginenmus, Paprikacreme, 2 andere Cremes, Bohnen, Weinblätter, Falafel, Okra Tabouleh, Salat und dazu ein Pita-​Brot).
Es war sehr reichlich und sehr gut!
Immer wieder gerne! PS der Teller hätte auch für 2 gereicht!

I have never been a huge fan of falafels and schawarma but I liked Sababa! The quality is excellent and for the price, you’ll be hard pressed to find something better around Vikulienmarkt. My cousin and I shared the turkey plate, added a falafel and had a drink for less than 15 bucks. It was a great deal. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful to those of us that don’t speak German. They kindly laughed as I took pictures of my food and kept asking how I liked it. I don’t know how people could pack so much food into the pita bread like pockets, but everything in the toppings bar was delicious.

Yum! This is a great spot for lunch. I had the falafel in a pita and it was delish. I love that you can add your own toppings from their little salad bar. The price was right (€ 3,90), there were plenty of free tables under an awning and the service was fast, so it was the perfect place for a quick lunch. Next time, I will get one of the appetizer plates, so I can try more of their food. I will definitely be back again and again!

Klein aber fein (und preiswert)! Einfaches Essen, z.B. Falafel, Hummus, Tabouleh, usw, und das Pitabrot wurde warm serviert.
Die Bedienung war langsam, wenn immer viele Kunden gleichzeitig da sind. Auch war es ein bißchen schwer, einen Essplatz hier zu finden. Man muss einfach Geduld haben, weil es sich lohnt, leckeres libanesisches Essen am Viktualienmarkt zu probieren.

Ich muss mich noch entscheiden, wann die Zeit kommt, ob ich mich in Mohn begraben lasse oder in Hummus.
Ich tendiere eher für Hummus.
Ich MUSSTE diesen libanesischen Laden endlich probieren. Falafel wie im Nahen Osten, sehr leckerer kalter Hummus, leckeres Fladenbrot.

Wir hatten den gemischten Vorspeisenteller zur Zweit mit Pita Brot. Köstlich, frisch und Preiswert (am Viktualienmarkt).
Das nächste Mal werden wir sicherlich wieder genießen von deren orientalischen Spezialitäten.

Yummmmmmmmmm!
This was my second time at Sababa, and I have to say I was not disappointed. The first time I went I had the falafel teller, but this time I tried the shwarma teller. Both plates were really, REALLY tasty.
Sababa is a hidden gem, that a lot of people seem to know about — because it is pretty much always packed during lunch time. The prices are decent, and the portions are lean towards the large side — therefore it is a pretty good deal for the Viktualienmarkt. Although I don’t remember what the falafel plate cost, the schwarma plate cost 7.90. The plate came with hummus, baba ganoush, salad, various pickled items, delicious pita bread, and a very large portion of the schwarma meat.
I know some people may think that shwarma meat can look like the indistinguishable parts of the animal. However, this shwarma consisted of large chunks of turkey breast — no mystery meat on this plate! ;)
I would recommend this place to anyone. In fact, everyone should go check this place out. Enjoy :).

I read a recent favorable review of this place on here and decided I needed to try it out! I’m no expert on middle-​eastern food though I have had my share of falafel, hummus and baba ghanouj. The falafel sandwich I had the other day was great though. My friends (one of whom has middle-​east roots and more cred than me for this kind of food) probably made the better choice though with the falafel platter, which has everything a falafel sandwich has and then some. Still, the falafel sandwich is a good deal. You get to fill it with greens yourself, by the way, which felt odd but not a bad thing. I will seek this place out again when at Viktualienmarkt and hungry. (It’s a tad hard to find but it’s near the Lebkuchen store, located on the back side of a row of fish stands, next to a small bakery.)

Have been looking for a go-​to Lebanese takeaway place in Munich for quite a while. Heard rumors of this place, but couldn’t find it the first couple tries. (NOTE: it’s directly south of the fishmarket (not Nordsee) on the Southeast corner of the market — a place that not a lot of the tourists walk through)
This is a little hybrid Imbiss/​food stall, so there’s not a ton of room to eat. But it’s ok because the food is so damn good you only need a couple minutes. They have a small but ideal menu including Falafil or Schawarma pita sandwiches (great for on the go) and the same items on extensive «plates» with hummus, baba ganoush, veggies and other goodies.
Everything is reasonably priced (3 – 4 euro for sammies, 5 – 7 for plates). You even get to pick your own toppings for the pitas… how great is that.
A must go for those working around the Altstadt or for hungry shoppers at the Viktualienmarkt.
Baby, you’ll never go back to that greasy doener.

Really you just need to walk up to the counter and see the quality. Very clean place, wholesome food and the falafels are good, really good. They give you a fresh pita with home made humus and the falafels (Crispy outside, prefect center and not fatty tasting) then your own toppings bar, awesome!
So if you want the best falafel sandwich in town, head here. It’s good. Really Good!

Munich’s best falafel! Prepared fresh, none of that pre-​made-​then-​microwaved business. Bread is thin like a pita, just the way I like it. A toppings bar allows you to pick what you want, and the friendly staff makes sure you don’t skimp on the delicious sauce. I try to go here whenever I am at Viktualienmarkt.
I grew up eating Lebanese cuisine and can’t find anything to dislike about this place.

One of my favorite restaurants in München. It’s close to my office but these guys also have fantastic food, give incredible service and the prices are quite amazing.
No one that I’ve sent there has come back with anything but rave reviews of the place.
The location is fantastic but sometimes hard to find as it’s not on the ‘main drag’ part of the Viktualianmarkt. Instead, it’s on the Eastern off the main walking part of the markt. Check it out if you get the chance.
