Oh how I wished I could love this place! So promising, but doesn’t quite deliver. First of all, I love the concept. You can’t find proper bagels anywhere in Helsinki and I jumped for joy when I heard about Brooklyn Café for the first time. I’ve been there several times and every time I hope for things to have improved. The truth is that the coffee isn’t among the best in town and sadly the bagels are a bit disappointing. I’ve had both dry and soggy bagels there, as well as ones that lacked taste. The location is good, the place is sweet and they have WiFi. The service is very nice and there’s a good vibe. Loved the three tiny and colorful tables they had outside during the summer. I really hope they’ll improve their offering — I’m still willing to give them a chance!

Cozy place, but hard to find free space and a bit tight. Good cookies. When it comes to coffee — there are better places in town.

Saturday morning coffee and bagel — good service and atmosphere. Constant traffic but not overwhelmed with long queues.

I had 3 different drinks. The chai latte and hot apple cider were very good. The plain coffee was ok. They had powdered artificial sweetener which was awkward to use snd difficult to gage. I wish they would have had tablets which are more common. The turkey bagel was quite tasty. They flavour would be improved by Hellman’s mayo. It is a small space but soon strangers were talking to eachother as if in a petite salon. The service was very good.

Went to a Unilocal event at this café and it was fantastic. We had a real blast from the past, painting mini pumpkins. Really good fun and the sisters that run the café made it. They are so bubbly and a joy to be around, plus the cakes and drinks are spot on. It is really small but allows you to strike up a conversation with people around you if you wish. Delicious cakes, shall be going back here!

When I miss my NYC bagels I head here. Super small, but excellent coffee with Finnish style bagels(bagels with a variety of fillings)

Really nice Brooklyn feeling in a pretty small but cozy café in Punavuori part of Helsinki. Bagels are the best i ve tried so far, and hot cocoa with chili on a rainy evening make your day! prices are average for the city center of helsinki, 3−5e for a hot drink. Def. one of my favorites! If you are looking for a cozy personal corner in the middle of hectic helsinki — try it out, wont be disappointed ;)

Brooklyn Café is a small charming café with some great bagels and nice atmosphere. There is also free wifi and the service is friendly –so the question is then why only a three star rating? Well, the service may be friendly but I have never had so slow service — standard is waiting 10 – 15 minutes for the coffee and that is just too slow. The coffee is also often not great –they do have decent coffee beans but the craftsmanship does not really match. Still I do like the place and do visit when I know I have plenty of time and want a relaxing place.
