Super cosy hippish adorable place with a warm welcome and a great selection of beers with cool names as el muerto de dia. We started with guacamole and fresh tortilla chips and opted for the fish tacos and the porc burritos. Super fresh tasty and handy food :) with wonderful salsas. We ended with the best churros, crispy, plump, just right amount of the sugar and chocolate chili sauce. A total hit on all accounts!

Fantastic Mexican food in Helsinki. Drinks are too small for the price. But the service and atmosphere were great.

I happened to know the owner of this simple but trendy taco place, when he told me he was going to open a taqueria in fine cuisine style, I told him: forget it! But now after trying it the first time I am stunned! The five star rating goes to the chef for making simple Mexican food taste and look expensive. Not to say that it’s delicious too. But don’t expect to pay much with dishes going at less than € 20 and you get to try flavours that can’t be found anywhere else in Helsinki! Book ahead as the place is quite popular at the moment and don’t be shy to start a conversation with the waiter and ask about the food!

Luis and his crew have not raised the bar on tacos and Mexican food in Helsinki. The ARE the(expletive)ing bar. Finally my love of simple, delicious tacos, guacamoles, salsas, and such delicacies has been satisfied in this small but mighty storefront restaurant in Ullanlinna/Viiskulma. There is a small selection of culinary delights made from the freshest, simplest ingredients: three kinds of pork tacos, nopal tacos, and fish tacos. It’s all delicious. I’m vegetarian and even I tried the pork. The salsas are the best I’ve had outside of Mexico, including San Diego, LA, and SF. I met Luis at Brewdog when they did a beer and taco pairing. It was love at first bite. I wasn’t sure they could maintain the insane deliciousness of the evening at Brewdog but believe it or not, I think it’s even better now. Sit outside on a sunny day(hahaha…but really: there was one recently), toss back a margarita or a beer, and enjoy your tacos — I’ve had them all and I can vouch for each and every one. I highly recommend the guacamole. Helpful hint: The more you order, the better spent your money is. Just take a bunch of people and order one of everything. Pass the plate, pass the love, savor the moment. It will be gone too quickly. Lucky for you, El Rey isn’t going anywhere anytime soon by my count.
