Le Globulle Rouge

This little restaurant /​cave à vins stands in the center of Brest. We had three glasses of different kind of wines and a cheese plate, seated at the counter. A few days letter we came back for a proper lunch. We chose a toasted camembert with honey and green salad, a plate with vegetarian dishes, haddock with cockles plus vegetables and for the desert a pear and chocolate crumble. We drank red organic wine.
Good points :
— Different interesting organic wines
— Local food (vegetables, bread, butter etc.). For example cheese from the fromager affineur Sten Marc’s
— Lovely place, welcoming and authentic. The garden is charming and the second room super lightly.
— Agreeable staff, thoughtful and which give good advice
To be improved :
— The place is open as a wine bar but it is more a restaurant. We arrived at 6 PM and it was obvious that the preparation of the diner was the priority for the staff. We had quiet the feeling to disturb the preparation of the following meal.
— Only one veggy dish. Moreover even if the turnips, the cabbage, the carrots were delicious and even if the pumpkin soup was tasty the dish had too much (good) potatoes.
— The seasonings have to be improved.
— The dessert was good but not outstanding. The pear was perfectly cooked and the chocolate was not over sugared but the crumble mix was OK.

Restaurant fermer (il serait temps d actualiser votre liste de resto fermée !)

C’est difficile de trouver un Resto à Brest et un bon c’est un vrai challenge. Très heureux d’avoir trouvé ce Globulle (grâce à Unilocal) avec sa cuisine précise mais décontractée, des produits simples mais bien associés et une touché d’originalité dans chaque plat. Service sympathiquement un peu décousu.

Trois fois testé, trois fois séduit :) Si près des Beaux-​Arts, on s’attendrait à une cuisine branchouille et peu roborative. L’avant-salle du bistrot pourrait même décourager le bourgeois, ce qui est peut-​être une bonne chose… Et bien non ! C’est copieux et c’est bon. Un choix de produits minutieux, des vins bio à découvrir, et un service sympa: visiblement, ils se sentent bien aussi. J’y retourne !
PS. Ce globulle prend deux L: quand on vous dit que c’est généreux :)
