If you’re in the mood to try some local Alsace wines, go to Maison Emile Beyer for a tasting(free if you’re buying a bottle or two). Maison Emile Beyer’s shop and tasting room is conveniently located in the middle of Eguisheim. One of the cutest towns in France! In my opinion, Maison Emile Beyer gets more foot traffic than other wineries thanks to Rick Steves’s recommendation and their location. You won’t need an appointment and walk-ins are almost always welcome. Super convenient and the reason I ended up at Emile Beyer. I tend to go for smaller producers and less touristy, but Maison Emile Beyer saved the day on my last minute trip to Eguisheim. Our host, Luciana, was patient and poured us a couple of their wines in their outdoor courtyard. Almost everything is available on the menu to taste, you just need to ask! Overall, I didn’t find as many of their wines that fits my palette, but it is always an adventure trying new wines. English is somewhat limited, but as long as you know what you like to drink, your tasting should be a breeze! I ended up purchasing some of their Cremants, which was extremely affordable(approx € 7). If you’re in town, don’t miss out on the best white wine in the world! Till next time, Santé! PS make sure to taste the dry wines before the sweet!
