On the way to Château de Foix and realizing we were actually quite hungry, my partner and I stumbled across this Creperie. Conveniently positioned a few alleys away from Foix market, and practically next to the Château, this gem not only exceeded expectations but was a pleasant surprise. I’m always cautiously optimistic of small, quaint restaurants with a bombastic interior, yet cozy feel. A fun earthy atmosphere, it looked good, so all that was left to do was try out the food. And am I glad I did! I ordered the crêpe with Gaia’s home-made chocolate sauce and a scoop of vanilla ice cream — divine. Absolutely gorgeous. My partner ordered a more adventurous variation called the«Delicé du Gaya»: banana lightly fried within the crêpe with the delicious home-made chocolate sauce on the side, raspberry sauce and perfect whipped cream — also home-made, and might I add… done just right. Now what makes this crêperie so much fun is that you can order a wide enough variation of dishes; crêpes, salads, soups, meat dishes with fries, desserts — yes, and I mean aside from the wonderful crêpes. There certainly is something to be said for the choices available for what I thought was a cool pancake house. Now, if you’re at all into wines the rosés were very tasty and a great accompaniment to the food. To conclude my review, I’ll just say I left satisfied and definitely happy to do a repeat visit… and to add to my joy… the meal was totally affordable. Nothing sits better with me than great food which is AFFORDABLE. So yes, I strongly recommend anyone who finds themselves in Foix to drop by Le Gaya; it’s perfect for breakfast, brunch, lunch, late lunch. Filling and oh so satiating.

My wife and I were in Foix for the Tour de France. We looked for Gaia after reading about it on TA and we were not disappointed. In fact we were flawed. We have dined in some of the top resturants in France, and this little place ranks with them all. The food is just plain great, don’t come expecting truffled kumquats in braised Tylenol sauce… I had a very simple chicken in mushroom gravy with Pot au gratin and some beans. The chicken was done perfectly, as was my wife’s hake in a boulabaise sauce. After our lunch, the owners directed us to a place to watch the riders that would not be so crowded and then joined us there after they closed the resturant for the day. The whole experience was wonderful, and we can’t get over how impressed we were with this little gem.
