Great neighborhood restaurant. Attentive owner and wait staff. The food is no frill French but nicely prepared. Worth a stop by if you are west side of promenade des Angelis. Two blocks from promenade and no people watching. In a quiet neighborhood.

Outstanding food, presentation and service. After reading favorable reviews we decided to try this restaurant. I ordered shrimp and scallops on top of sweet potatoes with curry and coconut milk. Our very charming and smiling waiter selected a very nice glass of wine to go along with this dish. I must admit, this was the best food I had so far in France. The seafood was cooked to perfection, without the fishy smell and it tasted just right. My friend ordered crème brûlée and enjoyed it very much.

My wife and I had a superb dinner. The setting was relaxed and attentive. There was a single seating, with most people arriving by 8:00 with no one being seat d after 9:15 I had the pot au feu, tender beef bathed in a red wine sauce. My wife had choucroute poisons – 3 types of fish atop a bed of gently braised cabbage surrounded by lovely sauce and a mélange of seasonal vegetables amd steamed potatoes. The silken crème brûlée we shared had our spoons vying for the last delectable bite. Sebastian, the host, was kind and patient despite my fractured French. We have seldom received so warm a welcome in any city. We asked for the name of the magnificent chef and learned that Pierre is Sebastien’s brother. We are from upstate NY – Hudson valley – and this is our first Unilocal review. Melody Nice is a very lovely restaurant – in many different ways

Been travelling around Europe/France for three weeks and this place had by far the best customer service and the food was equally delicious. Affordable fixed menu pricing for a three course dinner and every dish was delicious. Foie gras was excellent. Duck was cooked just perfect. Soufflé was so chocolatey! Unlike your typical French restaurants. the dishes were plenty! A bit off the main strip but one of the most memorable meals of the trip!

We have been travelling Europe for 1 month so far and our meal at Melody has been out best. I had the seafood risotto and my boyfriend had the duck. The seafood risotto was actually one of the best things I have ever tasted, the scallops and lobster were tender and juicy, and the rice was cooked perfectly. The duck with pear and potato was a great combination and also tasted great. We got the dessert platter for two and all the desserts tasted incredible. I highly recommend this restaurant. The staff were delightful which was the cherry on the top for us!

You know when a local tells you where to go that it is going to be amazing– and MelodyNice was just that! I went early on a Saturday, on the recco of my doorman, knowing that I would probably be one of the only ones in the place, but no matter. Sebastian, part owner, part bartender, and server extraordinaire greeted me warmly at the door and showed me to a booth by the window. This place is cute and whimsical with a large rocking horse, fanciful paintings and other object d’art decorating the place. The beige chairs and black tabletops are the perfect neutral setting for the accents of pink. .. It just has a lively feel to it. The menu is prix fixe or you can order a la carte but I wondered why anyone would as it is such an amazing deal. For 36e or 45e you can have an amazing dinner. They start you off with an amuse bouche which on the nght I was there was a lamb spread on bread. Next up– my first course was the fish soup which came with bread that you spread with a mustard aioli sauce, topped with grated Parmesan cheese and then soaked in the soup. Tres Bön! Another winner was the escargot and mushrooms– this was definitely the winner at the table. For my entrée it was the sea bream over roasted veggies and mashed potatoes. I was also a little short of veggies for the day and they pulled together a lovely salad of greens for me,. Another at our table had the beef which was perfectly cooked and so tender it was almost cutable with a fork. And still inclluded in the price? Dessert. I went with the sampler which was the perfect combo of crème brûlée, tiramisu and chocolate soufflé. Mmmmmmmm.. .. Sooooooo good. And if all of that wasn’t enough– they even gave me a few cookies to finish off my evening, Sebastian made our evening perfect– pacing the dinner so that it flowed perfectly, so there was never a lull in the service, and checking back regularly to make sure everything was okay. So much appreciated, from this girl who is always chasing someone down for the bill ! But don’t fret if you love the laid back style of Europeans– Sebastian has that covered too! All in all Sebastian and his team, made the perfect evening in Nice come alive. He’s thinking of opening a restaurant in San Francisco and I hope he does as that’s one place I get too a little more regularly. But until that happens if you find yourself in Nice and looking for that perfect place for a great night out, check out Melody. And please tell Sebastian that I sent you !!
