18 75 Bar Lounge

This spot has surprisingly good food and drinks for a hotel lounge! After an eight hour flight and five hours of waiting for my hotel room ahead of me, I needed a stiff drink, and 1875 obliged. And they didn’t judge me when I fell asleep on one of their chairs like a hobo. Jet lag is a bitch, what can I say.
Over the course of nine days I sampled a few offerings here. My favorite was the smoked tofu and vegetables. The risotto was delicious as well! And they give you the coolest spork ever with which to eat your food. It’s the little things…
The staff here were absolutely lovely, especially Pierre the super cute waiter.
There was one weird experience that I noticed, and thankfully didn’t happen to us. A lady the next table over ordered a tomato and mozzarella salad. However, apparently the kitchen ran out of mozzarella, and thought it would be cool to just bring out what amounted to a sliced tomato on a plate. That did not go over so well.
My only other gripe is the mouse situation! I was sitting in the outside patio area and once the sun went down the mice came out. It looked like a scene from a Disney movie… I was expecting them to sew a dress or clean dishes whilst singing a jaunty tune. That didn’t happen unfortunately. But mice are a problem all over Paris methinks, not just here, so don’t let it deter you.

Belle Terrasse au calme
Très belle terrasse au coeur du quartier vivant de la Place de Cichy… et pourtant c’est calme et cosy. J’ai apprécié de prendre un verre de vin en soirée. La carte est sympa avec des prix correct pour le quartier, on peut même commander des trucs à grignoter pour accompagner le verre. J’y retournerai sans hésiter.
