Enjoyed my stay at the AC. Nice location, nice room and incredible showers. Booked a room with breakfast and wi-fi, but still struggle with Paris prices… paying 300 euro for a room the size of my kitchen grates me. Regardless, safe, clean and an illegal UBER(f#ck you, France, really?) away from most anything you’d want to say. Excellent service.

I booked this hotel because it was near the venue for a conference I was attending. Based on prices of other hotels in the area, this one was reasonable and we were overall very happy with our choice. We arrived a little earlier than expected and were greeted promptly in both French and English. Lucky for us, our room was available, so we were able to catch a quick nap — after a 24-hour travel day, a short rest was really nice. The staff were all very friendly, helpful and accommodating during our week here. Melanie at the front desk was especially helpful and always seemed to be working when we had questions. The hotel is located pretty close to a freeway, so there is a bit of road noise in the mornings(we had a room on the street side) Overall, our room was generally pretty quiet with the windows closed. The usual children running down the halls(is that just a U.S. thing?) were nonexistent and room-to-room noise was minimal. Our room was very nice and coffee from the in-room Nespresso machine was a convenient way to start or end the day. I did not have any issues with the shower like the previous reviewer did, except to say that the«lip» between the floor and the shower is pretty minimal — 1 – 2 cm at most — so, anything that clogged the drain would almost immediately cause overflow. That, and the ½ wall of glass in the shower meant that it was really easy to get the floor wet with overspray. We only experienced the hotel restaurant for the breakfast buffet. If you are REALLY hungry, or can simply pack away the food, it might be a good value. We were usually just looking for something quick to start the day — maybe more French style than the ‘American breakfast’(=XXL) that many tourists from the U.S. seem to want — and the buffet was too much food. As for location, it is a quick walk to a line 1 metro station(Porte Maillot) and a little farther to the RER station: «C» RER(yellow line). Metro line 1 connects directly to many attractions like the Bastille, Notre Dame, the Louvre, Arc de Triomphe, Champs-Élysées and more. Others like the Eiffel Tower or Musée d’Orsay and Sacré Cœur are just a single transfer away. With just a little walking and Metro riding, we were able to get wherever we needed to go. The Palais des Congrès shopping center is nearby and easy to find — its connected to the Hyatt hotel’s tower. TIP: there are a few small restaurants and a grocery store in the basement, along with an another entrance to the Metro+RER station. If you really miss Starbucks, there’s one of those on the ground floor, too.

Truly disappointed in my stay at the Porte Maillot Marriott in Paris, France. Don’t get me wrong, lovely place, great location and nice room but their customer service leaves something to be desired. After arriving in Paris around 11:00 a.m., we dropped our bags off and ran around for the day, as many of you know, in the summer, it stays light almost until 10:00 p.m. We got back to our room around 10:00 that evening and looking forward to a nice hot shower. Get in the shower, love it! I look down and holy crud, water is pouring, I mean POURING out of the shower. I quickly shut off the water, run around trying to get my things off the floor, run grab other towels, and my sister goes, «What the heck?»” Water had streamed out past the door, into the room, and all the way to the window; the whole room was flooded. Yikes, right?! I thought I did something wrong. I look in the shower, lift up the drain«thingie» see if I unstopped the plug, everything looked fine. I immediately call the front desk, they have no one on duty for this type of emergency, so the security guard comes in(AND thank goodness for him). He comes in, looks at the drain and pulls out the items in the picture(UGH, seriously EWWWWWW — thats a .50 «cent» Euro in the one picture). I mean, how many days was this?! Was it the last guest? Was it there for weeks. So I am basically taking a shower with someone else’s filth! Now their filth is all over the floor, spreading whomever’s nastiness. Still grosses me out to no end when I look at the picture. You can kind of tell it’s been in there for a while too. I call for another room, because really, look at the picture, is this something you want to think about floating in your room?! No, rooms available. Wow. Okay, I’m paying over $ 200 a night to stay here, you would think they would do something… NAH! Wait, sorry, since we had just got back, we both had just thrown our clothes on the floor, I mean, sorry it was a relief after having walked around for about 10 hours, so… yeah, floor. The hotel dry cleaned our wet clothes. Thanks, but that’s it?! Nothing, not a free breakfast, free drink, take a percentage off our bill… something…not…nothing, I mean NOTHING else was offered. Not what you expect from a JW Marriott; NOT! I mean, this was a mess. I had already booked the hotel, we were there, no cancellations allowed, I am not going to lose $ 200, but my goodness, to be teated like this. I mean, I just moved down from Gold to Silver Rewards Membership because I had not traveled due to illness the last year, but I didn’t think Silver Rewards Membership was too shabby either. I guess it is, because I was sure treated like I WASLUCKY I WASSTAYING there. To add insult to injury, you would think the next day, they would make sure housekeeping would clean our room, NOPEAGAIN! We got back around 4:00 p.m., and no one had been in our room. Pretty gross, huh?! I thought for sure that would be the first room management would instruct them to clean. I was wrong. I mean, holy crap service Batman! I give it two stars only because of the location. Better hotels our there with better service, skip this one!
