Au Canon des Invalides

I went here for a glass of wine after a long day and it was great! Great selection of wine, great service and a nice atmosphere.

Had a decent dinner here consisting of a croque poulet which is like a croque monster but with chicken instead of ham. It was certainly passable if not delicious.
It also came with fries which were hot tasty and crispy. Service was slow but I did not care as I sat outside facing the street and watched the world pass by. All in all it made for a nice leisurely experience and I’d come back for a drink or snack.

Brasserie parisienne qui baigne dans son jus depuis probablement plus de 30 ans mais il s’y côtoie, à l’heure du déjeuner, un joyeux mélange de touristes, habitués et ouvriers. Rien d’extraordinaire dans les assiettes mais une formule du jour (plat + boisson + café) au tarif défiant toute concurrence de 11,50 € qui m’y a fait retourner quasiment quotidiennement lors de mon dernier séjour parisien. Personnel très sympa.

Comment vous dire que mon carpaccio n’était pas complètement décongelé… Accablant. Ce n’est pas un restaurant. Ils ont tout au plus un micro-​onde dans la «cuisine». Né perdez ni votre argent ni votre temps dans cet établissement.

We had such an amazing meal here in 2009 that we returned in 2011 all the way from Alaska with friends. What a mistake! In 2009 we had the most amazing rabbit I’ve ever had. Everything was amazing and restaurant was packed. In 2011 the entire restaurant was empty until we walked in. Instead of being pleased that they actually had 4 customers they seemed annoyed that they actually had to do something. The something they did do was the bare minimum and not even that. We ordered the «special» which came with green beans but they were out of beans, they only had french fries. It came with sauteed potatoes, they were out they only had french fries. One in our party ordered a hamburger which arrived completely raw, not rare, RAW! This was the laziest server we experienced in the six countries we visited during this trip too! The owner stood half in /​half out the door smoking filling the non-​smoking restaurant with smoke. I couldn’t understand how they could be «out» of anything since we were the ONLY customers in this place. It seemed like they won this restaurant in a lottery or something and now they don’t know what to do with it other than to annoy and poison their customers! Worst meal of our entire trip!

On y mange bien pour le déjeuner. Quatorze euro pour l’entrée et le plat; plats copieux et variés traditionnelles.
