Solid Chinese restaurant. It’s not fancy, but the food is great and the prices are much cheaper than any other Chinese restaurant that I noticed in Paris. My husband had a shrimp soup that he loved — as well as the chicken — he said that was amazing. I had vegetable dim sum dumplings that were great — very great, and the best bok choy I’ve ever had. It was called the seasonal vegetables I think. Really great. The desserts are good, even though they are a lot like Klondike bars, but still good.

I went to this place with my wife one rainy night, principally because it was close to our hotel. It’s not much to look at, so I thought we were really rolling the dice. The food here reminds me of the Chinese joints I used to go to with my parents when I was very young and we were living in the midwest. Those were Chinese restaurants that seemed frozen in time from the late sixties, with buzzing neon signs and cocktails that came in tall ceramic cups. Baguettes Royales has simple, well made food and it was a perfect meal for that cold, wet night. I hadn’t had chicken grilled with lemongrass before, but it was a perfect, basic dish that I’d recommend if you like Thai Barbecue chicken. And the shrimp won ton soup was on point.

Tout en modestie ! Je trouve l’endroit charmant car pas vraiment exposé aux bruits de Paris et à l’abri des regards. J’ai passé une très bonne soirée et nous y avons dégusté de très bons raviolis aux crevettes. Un régal !
