Belta Hotel Résidence

A rather quaint city hotel on a side street in Paris. With the smallest elevator I’ve ever been in. A great location to one of the central public transport stations, a quick 5 minute walk to the trains and subways and buses.
The staff was very helpful, with much better English than our French. When we checked in the gentleman at reception gave us a map and a lot of good pointers on how to get around the city.
Breakfast was included in our booking, it was downstairs in the lower level. Self serve, a nice coffee machine with various types of coffees, espressos and hot chocolates, fresh croissants (wonderfully light and flaky), ham, cheese, tomatoes (wonderfully flavorful), boiled eggs, etc. And Nutella! Everything was fresh and tasty.
Our room was again small, but clean and fresh, with a nice view onto the street below. Nice sized TV, although we didn’t turn it on. The room was fairly quiet from street noise, although we had someone run a hairdryer about 11pm in the next room both nights we were there. The walls did seem pretty thin.
The staff was also instrumental in getting us to Orley airport – I had booked the room on the closeness to the Eurostar station and hadn’t done much research about how to get to the airport. They booked a ride sharing van for us, which was prompt and reasonably priced. While more expensive than taking the subway, it took just over 30 minutes as opposed to the almost 2 hours that the subway would have taken.

Auch nicht weit zum Montmartre entfernt.

Ein Bistro am anderen, aber nichts mit Schicki-​Micki hier trifft man sie noch die ganz normalen Pariser, die nach Feierabend noch ein Bierchen trinken. Wenn sie zulange sitzen bleiben, kommt auch schon mal die Frau Gemahlin und holt sie ab. (Bleibt dann meistens auch noch für ein oder zwei Gläschen sitzen).
Zufällig landete ich hier im Hotel Belta (3 Sterne*)
Das Hotel ist ein typisches Pariser Hotel mit typischem französischem Frühstück aber was solls, Frühstück gibt es an jeder Strassenecke.
Die Zimmer sind nicht sehr gross, Kleiderschrank gibt es keinen, dafür 4 – 5 Kleiderbügel an einer Stange.
Will man sich in Paris lange im Zimmer aufhalten, ausser zum schlafen???
Wenn der Fahrstuhl rumpelt beim Hochfahren ist das auch nicht die Welt. Irgendwann und irgendwie wird er schon ankommen. :-)
Im Sommer bei Sonnenuntergang am Canal St. Martin sitzen und ein Gläschen Rotwein trinken das entschädigt für vieles.
