Food was ok. Nothing special. Cute little place close to the louvre. We had the omelette. Ham and cheese. And mushroom with herb. The cappuccino was good.

After an exhausting day exploring the Musée du Louvre we walked a short distance over for some dinner at this nearby sidewalk café. The space is quite small with two stories. We were seated in the tiny upstairs area(take note that the narrow staircase can be a bit terrifying) and provided with English menus and a basket of traditional French baguette. The food was satisfying but nothing extraordinary. We ordered a roast beef sandwich that came with a side of potato wedges and a bit of salad and the Tagliatelle Carbonara to share among the three of us. The meat in the sandwich was extremely tough and difficult to chew. As a weary and hungry traveler, I did not want to expend any additional energy ingesting my food. Needless to say, I was displeased by how this order turned out. The pasta, however, was excellent — creamy and comforting on a cold night in Paris. Mixing in the egg yolk definitely added an incredible richness to the overall flavor. For dessert we had a chocolate banana crêpe and the crème brûlée. Both were very tasty. I especially enjoyed the crème brûlée. Overall, my experience here was just okay. There is no such thing as bad French food but I have to say, this place is one of the more mediocre of what Paris has to offer.

Cute café located just across from the Louvre. Though tiny, it was adorably decorated for Christmas. The service was superb, the food was delicious, and the price is affordable(ish). Nikolas was our server and he was funny and entertaining(hence the name, right?). I had the Croquet Madame which was like grilled cheese and ham sandwich with a fried egg topping. It came with a side of green salad — all very good. The Mister had the Roast Beef Sandwich with French fries and side of green salad which was also equally delicious. We had the banana crêpe with coffee and chocolate drizzle with lots of whipped crime. The crêpe was velvety and perfect. We finished with coffee(for him) and hot cocoa(for me). Great choice, they were both just lovely and great way to cap off our lunch(a mighty big lunch that filled us through the rest of the day). Overall a great place with great good — highly recommend. I deducted 1 star for a couple reasons. It was definitely tiny and packed — making dining a bit uncomfortable when everyone shows up in bulky coats. The restrooms are upstairs and can only be accessed through a narrow spiral staircase. Would not be comfortable for the larger Americans, but cute for the petite a. Lovely! Will definitely come back and highly recommend!!!

The services sad totally awesome here. It’s just a cute Café in a rather busy area. We didn’t have a huge breakfast so stopping here for lunch was a great idea. I went with the dick confit and my partner went with the roast beef with hash browns(fries). We had room for dessert so of course we had crepes. Budget wise it doesn’t break the bank at all.

Alright so I am a New Yorker who does not speak French well. Totally annoying right? Likewise, I too can get annoyed at tourists in my home town, but I try to be polite and not too much of a hater. On my final day in Paris after eating in many places known and places off the beaten path, I was entirely impressed by how kind, patient, funny and charming Paresians were. Then I went to this place. It apparently was opposite day. The woman who ran the place was just as warm as my left toe in Antarctica. Aside from that fact, she had so many damn rules. You can only sit outside of you eat an omlette. If you sit at one table pulled together with another you could only drink on the left table and eat on the right table. What? Yeah, don’t even try to make sense of it. Additionally, I was also not allowed to read the English menu that was in front of me. She literally took it out of my hand while I was reading it. I felt slightly vindicated when I realized she started yelling at the staff and other customers… okay I wasn’t the only one. I guess she is an unhappy angry chick who could have ruined my breakfast. Instead my guest and I walked out and went to the Illy coffee shop down the street and had a great meal. Sorry I can’t tell you if the food was any good, but usually a great evironment lends itself to great food. This place sucked. I will take my «crass» New Yorkers over this chick any day

Très mal reçu, une terrasse pleine de terre, une équipe antipathique au possible, une véritable usine… Fuyez ! Préférez le Nemours, le service y est impeccable et les prix moins élevés.

We were limited on options dining late at midnight so we ate here. Food wasn’t great but not bad either. When we asked for the bill he threw a number out 44 euros which was 12 more than I had calculated based off the menu prices. 10 for eggs and bacon + 11 for croque Monsieur + 5.5×2 glasses of orange juice which adds up to 32 euros only. What a rip off trying to cheat a tourist. Shame on you Le comedie!!!

OK, so here’s the thing: I know that tourists are annoying — and tourists who don’t speak the native language are MORE annoying. I speak a little French — enough to order — but it’s obvious I’m not a local. My girlfriend and I had lunch at this joint because 1.) it had good reviews and 2.) it said they were patient with Americans. Well, #1 — the reviews WERE good… two years ago. And #2 — not so much. But to be fair, the woman(seemingly) running the place didn’t like anyone else much either. She yelled at staff, dropped food and dishes, and raced around like Gordon Ramsay waiting for his enema to kick in. So, I would say 5 stars for a stereotypical«French» experience, 2 stars for the food(it wasn’t great, but it wasn’t inedible), and minus 5 stars for making me feel unwelcome. Maybe the woman’s cat died that morning… I don’t know. But it was a really demoralizing lunch.

The food was okay, I wouldn’t say it was something to write home about. The Classic(aka a mimosa) was super strong. But I didn’t mind. The waitress was very kind and accommodating en Anglais. Cute décor, takes credit cards(mine has a chip), and friendly service. Good in a pinch.

Two stars… almost a 3 because the people were nice, and the restaurant was charming Parisian atmosphere. Food? Don’t bother!!! This place is fine for drinks on the patio, across from La Place Colette, but I highly recommend eating elsewhere. The food was TERRIBLE!- I had the Salade Nicoise — ugh. Canned tuna, chunks of lettuce drenched in dressing. My companions had repulsive pasta– with olive oil and balsamic vinegar pooled at the bottom– sort of a mix it yourself deal. I could have made this whole meal myself, 10 times better. No care at all to the food. Location is awesome, but 2nd worst meal in Paris– at least they were nice! Eat inside the Louvre, it’s better!

Stopped here to have a quick bite before we visited the Lourve. Food was ok but the service was terrible and very rushed even though the venue wasn’t to crowded. After trying multiple times to get the waiters attention for some water we gave up, paid the bill, and left. Wouldn’t recommend.

This place was centrally located and near our hotel, so we stopped by to have a drink on our last night in Paris. We didn’t eat anything, but mostly because the cake in the case looked like it had been sitting there since the stone ages. I thought those glass cases were to make the food look appealing? It took us forever to get the waiter’s attention, he seemed like he had no desire to talk to us whatsoever. When he finally came over, I asked for the hot wine(vin chaud) on the menu. It seemed popular in Paris and it was chilly, but they were out. The waiter walked away. We were SO confused. Why would you just walk away from your table? No idea. He stood a few feet away from us and did nothing and we waited for him to come back. They had Champagne drinks on the menu for 12E so I thought, why not get a glass? My fiancé asked for Four Roses(on the menu), they didn’t have it, so he got another Bourbon. I wish at this point we would have realized this place was a tourist trap of some kind and left, but we had already sat down outside and my fiancé had a cuban cigar that we wanted to share for our last night in Paris, so we stayed. We hung out for a while and I drank my Champagne and he drank his Bourbon and we smoked the cigar and at the end we politely said we were finished and thank you could we have the check. It came and that’s when the real trauma started — they charged me 22 Euros for a small glass of Champagne(12 Euros on the menu) and they charged my fiancé for 2 Bourbons because his was«a big one». When we asked about the costs of the drinks vs. the menu the waiter blew us off and shrugged with no response. We were forced to pay the bill or make a scene and be «those» Americans. Never going back there ever again and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. Down there street there is an AMAZING restaurant — Bistrot Victoires — that serves real French food at very inexpensive prices with great staff.

Food less then desirable. Had the chicken sandwich, which was just ok. The French fries were very greasy. If this is what we cooked in the states, we would be less fat. My friend got a tuna fish salad which tasted like something from a bad can. It included boiled eggs, anchovies, and tomatoes. This part was ok. The lettuce was tuff. Worst Bloody Mary ever. On top of all this the bill was 47 €, which included the waits tip. Because we did not know for sure if the tip was on the bill, we ask the waiter. He acted like he did not understand us and kept an additional 3.10 € for himself. We ask or hotel to confirm if we just got took and we did.

Situated in the theater area of Paris, this beautifully decorated café has every element of a classic French café. From what I can recall, there are several small tables with red and white wicker chairs lining the café. As an added dose of charm, each table had a single cream-colored rose on top! Inside the café, the walls are covered with mirrors, lavish paintings, and descriptions of different dishes and drinks they offer in a cursive script. I opted to sit outdoors, as the morning was fresh and warm. My breakfast of choice was a Croque Madame with Vittel spring water [SEEPHOTO].(Note: Croque Madame is simply a Croque Monsieur with an egg on top. A Croque Monsieur is a grilled ham and egg sandwich with emmental or gruyère cheese on top!) The food was delightfully Parisian! Our waiter was ever so kind as to offer to take multiple photos for us, too, which was wonderful. We left a handsome tip and multiple merci beaucoups for him :)

our garçon ‘christophe’ was a riot! he taught my fiancé to say«tarte» by mock ‘spitting’ in the street, drew us napkin maps to out-of-the-way sights, sent us to his friends’ restaurant(where we ate/drank with the owner 3 hours after closing!) & basically cracked us up for 4 days. the place is perfectly located in a great part of town, and our experience was everything we could have wanted from a café in paris. ask for christophe and tell him michael & meg say ‘allô’!

Being that it was our second time in Paris, we decided to ditch the first timers at the Louvre and grab some French cuisine. ATMOSPHERE: Busy little café near the Louvre. Great for people watching along Rue St Honore. FOOD: Chocolate crepes with vanilla ice cream — Awesome. Crepes were cooked perfect. Vanilla ice cream was out of this world — never tasted vanilla like that. Super rich & flavorful. Crouqe Monsieur — I’ve never heard of this before. This isn’t your everyday ham & cheese sandwich! It’s not because we were in Paris. It’s just unbelievably delish — from the cheese, to the toasted bread to the flavor of the ham. Ok, maybe the location has a little something to do with it. :) SERVICE: We walked in without a reservation and got seated immediately at a sidewalk table. Our server was friendly and professional. OVERALL: Nice ambience, great food & service. One of the joys of Paris!

An inexpensive but tasty option for people staying in the area. The waiter was quick and attentive, and our food was just as we ordered it. The ham and cheese sandwich my mother ordered was phenomenal. Finally having a legitimate tarte tartin wasn’t too shabby either! I think they are open quite late, and it made for a great post-show meal.
