Small café-bar situated in the Eurostar terminal in the Gare du Nord, adjacent to the main entry point to the platforms. It has its own chairs and tables, so provides an alternative to the main waiting lounge areas. It sells a range of filled baguettes, snacks and pastries, as well as hot and cold drinks, wine and beer. It’s not too badly priced considering the location, with baguettes all under EUR5, and beers for around EUR3; other outlets from the same chain in the main part of the station itself charge the same. One point to watch out for — as I’ve found generally in bars on the French train network — is to check your change carefully. I was short-changed by EUR5. When I pointed out the error, I was met with a Gallic shrug and given another EUR5, without an apology. So one star less for that
