Café du Nord

Petit déjeuner express, ok mais alors.le.service ???
C’est incroyable d’assurer un service aussi médiocre à un tel emplacement.
Toutefois, l’endroit est agréable et la terrasse est couverte et propre.

As I had about an hour to spare before returning to London and I’d failed to have a duck dish while in Paris on this trip, I took a chance on one of the multiple eateries that lined the Rue de Dunkerque immediately outside Gare du Nord.
It was a gamble that paid off though, as I’d plumped for a place that realised that speed and efficiency were likely to be very important factors and delivered very well on that criteria.
My duck dish was rapidly presented and well accompanied by dauphinoise potatoes and a lovely glass of Beaujolais, all for less than 20 Euros, service included.
The service was excellent — fast, efficient, courteous and polite.
Just goes to show — location is not always the most important thing.

The food is good, but the service is great. Way above Paris average.
Price is also good for the area.
Highly recommend this place.

J’ai fait le mauvais choix de plat en venant dans ce restaurant: j’ai pris un tian de légumes avec Burrata. En fait, lorsqu’on vient au café du Nord, il né faut pas se restreindre. J’ai goûté les plats de mes amis et tout était bon ! Mention spéciale pour la purée maison, la brioche est à tomber et le pain est une bonne tradition (pas de baguette toute blanche).
J’ai aimé ce restaurant pour son ambiance, pour son calme et pour l’attention des serveurs. Mais surtout, tous les plats sont faits maison et la plupart sont sans gluten ;)

Café du Norde Came here for breakfast before catching the train… Craving one last crêpe before heading home… Disappointment would be an understatement. The waiter wasn’t just rude, he was evil. When he wasn’t busy being evil, he was ignoring every customer and outside smoking. The bathrooms were terrible.

Perfectly situated in front of the Gare du Nord, this place offers a meal at a fair price served by typical French waiters. Good place for a quick bite before getting the train.

I’m automatically skeptical of any eatery near any mass transit source, as frequently I find they are overpriced and a general let down. But I had time to kill before boarding the next Eurostar and a grumbly tummy to fill.
Roller suitcase in tow, I received a friendly greeting at the entrance and sashayed in. Seated, I enjoyed a nice view of the majestic Gare du Nord station exterior across the street, which a lot of people don’t ever actually see. I had a simple omelette and fries which were very good and the cost reasonable. I had a peek around at the other plates around me and everything looked quite good, and served in good sized portions. Interior is classic and warm.
Great place to sit and a sip a glass of Sancerre whilst bidding adieu to Paris.

Great place for drinks! There is Free wifi if your looking to connect. Most importantly the service is kind and very helpful! They will help you figure out the menu.

The atmosphere alone should get 6 stars. Café du Nord is hands down one of the most romantic restaurants I have ever been to. Tall, white candle sticks, dim lighting. Very classic.
The food is a bit inconsistent (which is why I settled on 4 stars) but seriously the atmosphere takes the cake. Make sure to call ahead and make a reservation as they don’t usually hold tables for walk-​ins and it can fill up pretty quickly.

A perfect place to get breakfast when you arrive in Paris in the morning and can’t go any further without food…
Also a great place to get food before boarding your train back to London, Brussels, Amsterdam, etc.
The service is friendly though it could be seen as aggressive by some…
They also have great salads (I recommend the Salade au chevre chaud), and corque monsieurs, all accompanied by a selection of beers from the North (belgian, mostly…).

Personnel présent, restaurant sale par endroit. La nourriture est classique sans plus mais correct.
