Café Roussillon

Went here on a chilly Paris day and enjoyed delicious onions soup! Was a quaint restaurant and we had wonderful service.

The service was very good and the portions were generous for lunch. However the seafood salad was drenched in a goopy pink sauce which kind of killed the mood. Otherwise the croque monsieur my son ‘had’ was excellent.

My one star is based solely on the customer service. When we walked in they were very friendly, spoke English, no problem there. My wife and sister-​in-​law ordered piña coladas. The food was great and everything tasted good; the service was fine, until we told them that the drinks were very strong and to please bring some cranberry juice to help with the taste. Unfortunately the taste was still very strong and we let our waiter know and asked him to not charge us for those drinks. That is when this place went from 5 stars to 1. The waiter immediately got an attitude, and didn’t say another word to us. I asked for the bill which he simply placed on the table and walked away. When he brought our change he again did not say one word to us. He went from having a decent tip, to no tip at all.
If there is one thing I cannot stand, it is bad customer service. Not everyone is going to like everything. Our waiter seemed to take it VERY personal that they did not like the drinks. I would not come back here even if the meal was free.

This café became my favorite place during my week in Paris. The staff was so friendly and warm. The café was comfortable and I loved stopping here for breakfast. I decided to have my last dinner in Paris here before leaving and everything was perfect. I had the chicken and fries but it was more amazing than I could have expected. I started with a Kir Royale and escargot and again it was incredible. Then the flavors of the chicken and the gravy and fries was beyond words. The waiter suggested a good wine paring for the meal and he was spot on. I could have had the whole bottle it was so good. I finished my meal with the tarte tatin and it too was the perfect end to a perfect meal. I am planning another visit to Paris and I will be coming back. Since the café is on Rue Cler it is great for people watching but is not a touristy café. Thank you for a great place to sit and relax.

The food was delicious. The beef bourguignon and porkchop was good. The bone marrow was a highlight and a steal with 3 large pieces for 7.50 €. The atmosphere is low-​key and a mix of locals and tourists. The staff was friendly and the food was quick. We would go back to this restaurant.

Can’t fault the service. Friendly staff. But if this is the food we settle for in Paris with a 3or4 star rating I despair for Paris Cuisine.
Inoffensive but Average at best.
Seems a bit of a tourist trap to be honest.
If I could rate it 2.5 I would.

Yummy beef bourgignon, my first meal in Paris! Very accommodating and helpful waiter, let me charge my phone and get on the WiFi. Very reasonable prices. It was a nice experience after being a little tired from having just visited the Eiffel Tower and walking around.

We stumbled across this place one afternoon and it did not disappoint. The best part of the meal was the killer French onion soup. The risotto and shrimp and beef and potato plates were really good but we fought over the soup :) we will visit again on our future visit.

Can’t say enough nice things about this restaurant. We ate here 5 or 6 times during our week-​long stay in rue Cler. Less expensive than many of the restaurants in the neighborhood, wonderful sized portions, excellent and friendly service and many delicious meal options including some great salads.

Really slow service. Food was… Okay. My wife had the fish of the day and it was good. But the sprout salad with shrimp that came with it was bad. My onion soup and salad nicoise were fair but not good. Overall it was two and a half hours and my beer glass stayed empty most of the time. I think the server may have just forgotten us.

My friend recommended this place, as she comes here on a regular basis. They do have good happy hour prices, and yummy cocktails.
My girlfriends and I came one evening for their «raclette,» and to be honest it wasn’t worth it. The idea was neat, to serve it in an appetizer portion, but it barely resembled the true raclette experience. The cheese was served in a clay pot that didn’t keep it warm long enough to keep it soft, so we found ourselves shoveling cheese into our mouths as quickly as we could to keep it from getting cold and hard. The charcuterie selection was okay, though I’ve certainly had better.
I did, however, enjoy the ambiance (perfect for post-​work drinks with friends) and would return just for that.

Ok, so you know how you have traveled allllll day, are dead tired, and just need some delish food and a beer or wine in your belly? Well, THIS is the place to go!!! Great food, decent prices, great service, and VERY kind service! We ate here a few times, just because they were so friendly and the food was good! :) Also, just TRY the burger! Somehow this little French restaurant manages to out do our American restaurants with their delicious burger and fries! Just TRUST ME ON THIS!!! You can thank me later ;)

Mon copain et moi nous y sommes tombé par hasard. Au début c’était pour un café mais ca a finit quelques heures après avec un bon repas et du bon vin.
Petite carte mais très bon. Nous avons pris l’entrecôte, très bonne, et une plancha mer. Celle-​ci était très bonne aussi. Il y aurait pu y avoir plus de poisson mais c’était quand même un délice. Le saumon était très frais et j’ai vraiment bien mangé.
Le serveur était très gentil et attentionné.
Je recommande vraiment cet endroit dans lequel on né peut non seulement prendre un verre, happy hour, un café ou y manger.

Originally we came to this establishment due to its proximity to our Hotel adjacent to Rue Cler. I am very glad that we did! This place was great. Everything from to food to the atmosphere.
Pros: great food, affordable, English speaking, friendly service, and great drinks.
Cons: slow food service (buy it is worth it)
This is a great place for young people to the more mature. I don’t think it really s pace for kids but i did see a few there. This was the best place that we went to during our honeymoon. I would absolutely recommend this establishment and will no doubt come back here again!

Great food, great price, great atmosphere

Came here on a rainy day in between the lunch and dinner hour to grab a drink. My BF and I had a couple glasses of wine and my BF’s sister requested lemonade. Our wines were great, but what my BF’s sister received was the following: glass with ice, small pitcher with water, a tall glass with freshly squeezed lemon juice in it. It sounds like a fun concept, however it definitely takes a while to master the correct balance.
The ambiance was very cute and the service was OK. Nothing special, but the place served its purpose for us and that’s all that matters.

Nous y sommes passés un dimanche midi pour un déj à 4. Il restait un couvert sous la table! Il y a souvent beaucoup de monde. Les assiettes sont plutôt généreuses et l’os à moëlle était apparemment assez incroyable — beaucoup à manger pour un prix très modeste. J’ai pris une salade mais la soupe à l’oignon de mon voisin avait l’air super aussi. On est servis assez rapidement. Les serveurs né sont pas particuièrement agréables mais pas non plus désagréables, polis et un peu speedés, mais efficaces. Je né reviendrai probablement pas pour manger mais je veux y retourner pour tester le bar!

One of the worst foods that I have tried in Paris. The price is okay for being in Paris, but the food needs to change.
We ordered pasta of the day which was the most decent dish that we ordered but was average. A seafood plate that tasted like it was pre-​packaged frozen calamari and croquettes with some smoked packaged salmon, and the salad with Camembert cheese and ham which was honestly uneatable .
The service was okay but when the food in Paris is like this you feel really disappointed. Sorry!

The French Onion soup is fantastic, the house wines are nice for the price, the pork chop is tough, and the service is excellent. WONDERFUL. Kind, warm, friendly. A lot of American tourists (myself included) can be found which may not be what you are seeking or maybe it is. Depending on the moment you are in during your vacation. Certainly would go back.

Stopped in for apértifs. Service was all right. Difficult to get a waiters’ attention, and where we were seated we often caught the waiters en route to the WC. They make a strong cocktail, though, according to my wife, who scoffed at the small size of her planter’s punch before realizing its full potential… while sucking on her next drink, a mojito (which, by the way, was a very excellently crafted mojito). Good happy hour pricing: 4,50 € for cocktails.

La vraie brasserie parisienne qui propose au menu
Fondant de boeuf, ravioles de Saint-​Jean ou filet de cabillaud.
Le genre d’endroit qui pour entre 12 et 16E le plat tout au plus,
Vous rassasiera, même si votre appétit est au plus haut.
La carte est bien pensée, il y en a pour tous les goûts.
Environ 8 entrées, 8 plats et 8 desserts, qui inspirent vraiment.
Les assiettes sont très garnies, on né peut manger jusqu’au bout
C’est difficile. Le cuisinier est généreux. C’est nourrissant !
L’accueil est sans chichi, l’atmosphère est agréable, typique.
Le bémol qui m’aura fait retirer une étoile, c’est le bruit ambiant.
Pas facile pour la conversation, légèrement incommodant.
Situé rue Clerc, cette brasserie saura vous accueillir,
Une ambiance où résonnent souvent les voix des clients et leur rire.

The menu is written on a blackboard and brought to the table, as is the wine list. I might not speak a lick of French, but when it comes to food, I’m international haha.
The bone marrow and salmon tartare with frites was out of this world. The tiramisu left something to be desired…
I love Europe cuz all the cafes and restaurants encourage loitering. We camped there and used there wifi for at least 3 hours, and no one said a word!

Bonne adresse
Un café de quartier, ou l’on peut dîner, boire un verre, grignoter une planche de fromages… Accueil toujours sympathique, café plein de vie et d’ambiance à des prix très raisonnables. Tout simplement une bonne adresse à disposition.

Affreux. Le patron/​serveur (qui travaillait sûrement en tant que les deux, qui sait), était atrocement désagréable.
Mon amie et moi avons débarqué à ce café pour boire un verre, et dès le début il était désagréable (de plus qu’on né pouvait pas y manger, panne d’électricité ! hah !)…
Au final, il né voulait pas prendre ma carte (15e minimum), et j’ai eue un petit problème avec ma banque — j’avais atteint mon plafond — donc impossibilité de retirer (ce qui lui a permis de me traiter de ‘gosse de riche’) alors j’ai regardé désespérément pour de l’argent dans mon sac — je suis quelqu’un d’honnête et ce genre de chose m’arrive rarement, mais quand ça m’arrive je me sens embarrassée — le patron a donc fait une énorme scèné, se moquant de nous et nous traitant de voleuses. Évidemment, cela né nous a pas donné envie de dire (on étaient short de 40 centimes) «nous habitons le quartier, demain nous revenons avec 40c, nous sommes affreusement désolé !» — non, à la place, on lui a donné ce qu’on avaient manqué de 40c et nous sommes partie en jurant de né plus y remettre les pieds parce que ce manqué de respect nous a mis dans un état de frustration incroyable.
Pour en rajouter, leur nourriture n’est pas bonne (j’y suis déjà allée une fois auparavant avec une autre amie, le patron/​serveur n’y était pas car je né l’ai pas reconnu).
Je né le conseil pas du tout, si vous voulez passez un bon moment paisible avec des amis ou en couple, allez au LM (au croisement de La Tour Maubourg et Grenelle) a la place — bien meilleure qualité de service ET de nourriture.

C’est un beau petit bistrot.
L’ambiance est cossue et tranquille.
Une déco art moderne.
Les plats sont atypiques.

Bön Restaurant qualité prix imbattable pour le quartier.
C’était ma cantine pendant plusieurs années. J’ai eu l’occasion d’y remanger aujourd’hui: Verre de vin + Plat du jour + dessert = 25 euros.
La cuisine est sans prétention, mais très correcte et les assiettes sont généreuses. L’équipe est super sympa, ils ont indéniablement le sens de l’accueil.

This was our go to place as our apartment was around the corner. Friendly service, decent food, tasty beer, and good wine. Food highlights included hearty salads and tasty onion soup. I would avoid the chicken burger and hamburger at all costs. After a couple weeks in Paris, American food sounded good. Notsomuch.
A good place for Americans to acclimate to Paris. Blend in, speak a little French, and enjoy yourself.

La simplicité a du bon
Simple, peu cher, accueil sympa et souriant. Les assiettes sont copieuses et bien présentées, l’endroit est souvent plein mais cela reste très agréable car le lieu a su garder sa simplicité bien qu’il soit dans un quartier assez huppé de Paris.

Le Roussillon, c’est un peu le QG des habitants du 7ème, entre Ecole Militaire et La Tour Maubourg. On peut y croiser des politiques, des animateurs télé ou des artistes, qui se mêlent radicalement à la clientèle. Cette dernière se fiche complètement de savoir que vous êtes hype, branché et friqué, puisque tout le quartier baigne dans une atmosphère très tranquille et cossue.
Beaucoup d’Américains aussi, surtout le week-​end.
Aussi bien brasserie de qualité que bistrot sympa pour grignoter (plats honorables et prix sans excès), prendre son petit déj au comptoir ou un jus de fruit dans la grande salle.
Petit +: les portes vitrées sur les côtés s’ouvrent l’été pour laisser entrer l’air et le soleil dans la salle…
Les serveurs ont souvent un petit accent du Sud et le patron est Toulousain, ce qui né gâche rien à l’ambiance.

Le Roussillon est un petit café où il est agréable de se poser après des petites courses rue Cler.
L’ambiance est chaleureuse, les serveurs rient et sont très accessibles, et la gérante né passé pas inaperçue: elle met de l’animation et parle à tous les clients afin de les connaître. Car pour elle, il est important de savoir qui sont ses clients, et pas seulement leurs visages, mais aussi leurs prénoms et un peu de leur vie.
Un café qui bouge, très joyeux où l’on a envie d’y passer une journée tellement on s’y sent bien.
Et tout commence peut-​être par la décoration et les petits détails: les tasses à café traditionnelles sont toutes blanches mais ici, chacune a sa couleur. Les tables sont hautes donnant, des airs de pubs à l’endroit, surtout quand on regarde le bar en bois. On se dit d’ailleurs qu’y passer un soir au lieu de l’après-midi serait à faire à l’occasion. D’énormes bouquets de fleurs encadrent la porte et à la question récurrente «les bouquets sont-​ils vrais? «, oui, ils le sont. Et c’est encore plus impressionnant, car ils sont si volumineux et impressionnants qu’on se dit que la gérante n’a pas que des talents dans la communication.
Un endroit vraiment sympathique et accueillant qui a fait de moi une habituée.

Simple dans un quartier qui l’est moins
Ce coin du 7ème se laisse envahir par les restaux bobos sans âme… Là, promis, vous né serez pas déçus… Certes, je trouve que le lieu a baissé côté qualité, mais l’ambiance reste bon enfant, les gens aimables et affables, et le service sans chichi et rapide. Côté cuisine, ça reste pas mal: bon choix de salades, et de plats traditionnels français (tartare, confit…)… Moins bon qu’avant, mais bon quand même. A y aller si vous êtes dans le coin…

Sympathique
Brasserie qui se révèle un bon petit restaurant, avec des personnes accueillantes et souriantes, des plats qui font envie pour tous les goûts, des grandes salades copieuses et une décoration plutot recherchée.

Ambiance très intime et service sympathique
Pour un petite bière en fin de journée, le Roussillon est l’adresse idéale. La rue Cler à côté donne un côté village et l’ambiance est toujours au beau fixe. Les prix sont raisonnables pour le quartier, et le service toujours agréable. Un bar-​resto où il fait bon d’aller !

Très sympa
Que ce soit pour prendre un verre entre collègues, ou se faire un bon déjeuner, c’est la bonne adresse du coin. Le service est très agréable. Il peut y avoir de l’attente, car c’est très couru. Ambiance feutrée mais pas trop.

Vive la côte de boeuf !
Idéal pour les amoureux de bonne viande et de vin rouge à un bon rapport qualité prix. Accueil très sympa et service rapide. Idéal pour les dîners de groupe.

Ambiance brasserie !!
Pour les petits dîners tranquilles ce n’est pas l’endroit ! Les gens sont contents d’être là, le bruit s’en ressent… la fumée aussi ! Mais la carte est très bien, les plats à la hauteur de nos attentes et le service rapide… bien qu’un peu détendu mais c’est l’ambiance recherché du lieu et c’est çà qu’on apprécie justement !!!

Génial !
Un accueil remarquable. C’est simple mais l’équipa et très sympa et on y mange très bien. A 2 ou entre amis… c’est vous qui voyez… A tester quoi qu’il en soit !

Une superbe adresse
Superbe déco, ambiance, personnel super sympa (bonne équipe de potes). Nouveau happy hours le lundi et mardi, cocktail pas cher et bon comme la côte de boeuf ou les plats du jour. Je vous le conseille.
