This was the first restaurant I visited upon moving to Paris and I was received with great service despite knowing little to no French. The waitress was very kind and the food was great too. Since then I have returned a few times, each receiving great service with a kind smile that isn’t always found in Paris. I would definitely reccommend this place for a relatively cheap cup of coffee.

They offer all the standard French fare plus a few extras. I had the veggie lasagne which was only so so. It had not been baked in the oven and had clearly been reheated with sauce plopped on top. Nothing too horrible but in line with your standard ready meal.
Our poor waitress was rushing around trying to cover all the tables. They need to bring on an extra person. She did a great job though.

Very charming, authentically Parisian restaurant with a warm cosy feel. Friendly staff, who speak perfect English when they hear me struggling with my awful French!
This was just a breakfast visit, so went for the set ‘Les petits dejeuners’ which consisted of coffee (or tea/​hot chocolate), yoghurt, croissant and orange juice for € 6.90. The croissant was probably the best one I have ever tasted. Really delicious and fresh.
There wasn’t really opportunity in this visit for them to wow me enough to get that fifth star, maybe I’ll return sometime for dinner and give them the chance!

Chez Gaston c’est pas mal pour un apéro, la déco est simple, bistrot typique avec des affiches anciennes.
Il y a un happy hour de 17h à 20h et la possibilité de commander des tapas à 1.50 € entre 17h et 21h.
C’est à cette occasion que nous avons testé les mojitos et comme tapas la tortilla aux poivrons et le chorizo.
Question tapas, rien à dire, présentation classique et goûteux (petit coup de coeur pour la sauce tomate qui accompagne la tortilla).
Niveau mojito, ils né sont pas franchement super, trop de glacé et passé du reste. Le choix de boisson m’a aussi paru très restreint…

After arriving in Paris late one night, we stumbled upon this place because we saw it on our way to the hotel from the metro station, and it happened to be one of the few places that were still open even though it was already late and dinnertime has more or less evolved into drinking time.
We were promptly seated, and the cheerful staff handed us menus. There is an English translation, and they understand basic English, though as with most cases, showing that you have a small grasp of basic greetings magically works and makes them smile.
I ordered the blood sausage terrine, followed by the salmon tartar as a main dish. My companion ordered the salmon tartar appetizer followed by the beef tartar as a main dish. We also shared a half liter of a house red. It’s bistro food, not the best in my opinion, but very good to be honest. What I would like to emphasize here is that we were dining a few minutes before midnight, and we could still get good food, not the pub food you would typically find in North America.
I’d like to say I’d be back here, yet, when one is visiting a new city, and one has a foodie for a companion then one would tend to try to visit as many good eating establishments as one can and therefore we’d probably go somewhere else next time. But this place is good!

Très cosy cette petite brasserie dans le quartier Oberkampf. Joli ambiance avec lumières tamisées et déco soignée. Accueil chaleureux avec mon petit crème, tôt le matin.

Bön plat du jour, pas trop cher (~11 €), les serveurs sont souriants et adorables, le service est très bien.
