I don’t even want to write a review — that’s how protective I am of this place. The menu is seasonal and weekly, and the ingredients are accordingly fresh. The service turns all preconceptions of snooty French service right on its head, and the wine is beyond. The dishes here are not the run-of-the-mill steak and frites French food that grows a little boresome by Paris Day #4. The dishes are village-favorite, home-style cooking, with rabbits and ducks and all that good stuff. We went prix fixe and had this pear-based dessert that blew my mind. The ambience is so adorable and quaint, and the waitress so endearing and hospitable, you get the sense that you’ve visiting family friends outside Paris — except you’re in Paris, and the food is better than any French food on the entire North American continent. And much of Paris, for that matter. Reasonably priced. Very specific hours — so call before going. For the monolinguists out there: fear not, they speak English.

A cozy little restaurant tucked on a side street. The woman working front-of-house(the owner?) was incredibly welcoming and gracefully allowed me to practice my terrible French. The food was tasty and well-prepared– French comfort food at its finest. Recommended!

This restaurant seems to be an undiscovered gem near the Bastille area. It only has 5 reviews on Unilocal so we weren’t sure if we should visit this restaurant or some of the others that have more reviews, but fewer stars. I’m so glad we decided to give this place a try. This restaurant beats any other bistro we’ve eaten at in Paris and for 29 Euros for an appetizer(entrée), main dish(plat) and dessert, it is a deal. For 4 adults and 2 kids, we ordered every entrée and plat on the menu(three per category) and three of the desserts on the menu which was the perfect amount of food. For the entrees, we enjoyed a salmon ceviche, a goat cheese and zucchini spread, and olive tapenade over medium boiled eggs and arugula. Everything was fresh and nicely prepared. For the main dish, we had grilled tuna with tabouleh salad, grilled lamb kebabs with zucchini-egg casserole, and steak with fries and salad. While I don’t normally eat red meat, the lamb was my favorite, but others said they like the tuna best. The fries were perfect, warm and crispy. We enjoyed the hot chocolate lava cake, cheesecake with lemon zest, and flan. All were excellent.(Note: cheesecake here is light and fluffy, like a mousse, and not at all like the dense stuff we get in the US.) Our waitress(owner?) was very nice, spoke English, and tolerated our broken French. In contrast to several other bistros where our hosts were surly and rushed, she was warm and welcoming. We eat out a lot and have enjoyed many terrific restaurants. This one is among the best. If it were close to us at home we’d be here at least once a week. The restaurant has 9 tables that seat 2 and 1 table that seats 6. It’s best to come early to get a table if you know you want to eat here; you can also call ahead to make a reservation. I highly recommend this restaurant and we will definitely be back. Our kids have already been asking why we didn’t eat here earlier and when will we return.

We were in Paris for the first time and stayed around the corner from this little bistro. One evening we decided to go here and the three of us thought it was outstanding. The lady who served us was super French and super nice. We speak very little French and what little French we do speak is pretty bad. Luckily, like most people in Paris, she spoke English and Spanish. We got a nice bottle of Bordeaux for a pretty good price. The 3 of us ordered the 3 course meal, our friend ordered the rabbit terrine and we both ordered the summer vegetable salad, which looked like it should be sweet but was very savory. For the main we ordered the steak, a fish dish with risotto and this stewed lamb with a kind of pillow of mash potatoes on top. Everything was perfectly prepared and delicious. Dessert: the chocolate lava cake of course, which was super good. It was an overall great experience and I would highly recommend going here if you’re ever in Paris and in the Charrone neighborhood.

Ended up here on a recommendation on my visit to Paris. The restaurant is small and intimate with a bar at one end. We were seated right away and the waitress brought the menu(chalkboard with only few items on it) over to our table. The menu is small and from what I understand it changes weekly. I decided to get the appetizer + main + desert for 29 Euro plus a bottle of wine. Cheap? No. Cheap for Paris? Oui. I got my first course which was squid with sauteed carrots. I would have never thought that those two combination would be so great together. For the main I picked scallops in kind of sauce. This was the best scallop dish I have ever had! That sauce was amazing. Finished the meal with a cheese cake. This was not like the dense and heavy cheese cake we have in the US. It was very light and full of flavor. If you happen to be in Paris definitely give this place a try.

A must go if you are in Paris. A small location with a nice zinc bar inside, in a great neighborhood. The menu is small and changes every week according to season, which makes the food very«fresh and french» authentic. They also have a nice selection of local french wines. The chef Fabrice cooks with passion and everything tastes like at home(«home» meaning my mum and dad s place in France). The chocolate lava cake, if they have it on the menu is just the best. The staff is very friendly. For the price, it feels very decent for the quality of the food but i don’t live in Paris so it’s hard to say. If you are in Paris, don’t hesitate just go and give it a try.
