I am still dreaming of the beautiful sandwiches I ate in Paris at Coupi Bar! I was walking past and something in my gut told me to go inside, thank goodness I did. The coffee was delicious and the beef sandwich was the best Vietnamese sandwich I have ever had. My husband is a big Vietnamese sandwich lover so I have tried many of them over the years in different parts of the world, but Coupi Bar was easily the best one I have ever eaten. One of the reasons the sandwich was so great is because in addition to the fresh cilantro and carrots, the tangy sweet sauce on the beef and the pickled cucumbers ~ the baguette was part of the main event, not just a side note like so many others. The bread tasted like it had just come out of the oven as the sandwich was being made and each bite was the perfect crunch! It’s a little bit on the edge of town but worth the subway ride!!! Bonus: super clean bathroom which I always appreciate.

To put it simply, Coupi Bar is a great place to relax and have a nice snack or drink.
More complexly, Coupi Bar invites you to an atmosphere that’s quite different from the surrounding area in the 13th arrondissement. It’s a very modern feel, with its steel countertop and monochrome color palette. Yet at the same time, it has some classic food options — banh mi, bubble tea, various coffees, and other refreshing drinks at incredibly affordable prices. Located next to the Porte d’Ivry metro station, it’s a great place to grab a morning coffee or afternoon snack before starting your day.
However, what really makes Coupi Bar shine are the owners, Stephan and his cousin Tak. Patient, kind, and very knowledgeable of the area, they are great people to talk to for both tourists and native Parisians. Couldn’t recommend this place more.
