This place is alright. am guessing most of the traffic comes from the fact that they are close to Rue du Rivoli so lots of tourist foot traffic. Service was alright. Prices were kind of high. I ordered a risotto which was meh. We mostly stopped here because we had been sightseeing all day and we were hungry and it was raining. Given the choice, prob. not a place we would drop by again.

My wife and I don’t agree on Da Rosa. She pretty much hated it and I thought it was ok. We were seated right away, but the waitress didn’t show up for 5 – 10 minutes, which wouldn’t have been a problem if we weren’t all that hungry. So finally we get to order and order a plate of sliced salami/soppressata meat, a cheese plate and some olives… along with a bottle of Bordeaux. One pretty serious ‘strike’ would be that we had to ask for bread! I don’t know if was a brain fart on the waitress’s part, or something we needed to ask for. That wouldn’t really make any sense here in Paris. Like I said, the quality of what we had was ok… but certainly not worth the price we had to pay. Later in our trip we would get much better for less. Hence the 3 star rating.

If d’Ardoise, down the street, was actually worth four stars, then da Rosa would be worth five! In reality, da Rosa deserves about four, for atmosphere and service, and d’Ardoise probably deserves three, for the same reasons. A few weeks ago, my daughter and I stopped into d’Ardoise and saw Parisians murmuring at tables crammed in a dim, dusty space, and a single waitress looking harried. We had to stand next to diners while waiting, and when we finally got the waitress’s attention, she looked us up and down to make sure we passed muster. We were dressed well, I spoke to her in French, and she showed us to the row of cramped seats, but we didn’t like the waiting-and-vetting process, so we left. We walked down the street to da Rosa, where we were greeted with a smile and seated quickly, in a cleaner-feeling restaurant with spiffy modern style and happily chatting customers. It was that feeling you get when you collapse gratefully at a Marriott not because it’s divine but because you are confident it will be friendly, clean and comfortable. The food was fairly good, although costlier than other restaurants we’d enjoyed in the area. da Rosa serves tapas, but at high prices, and none of the small plates combined a protein with a vegetable(for example, a salmon-topped salad would have been welcome, to provide a balanced meal for a small eater). Also, the white wines by the glass were not very good. Surely, da Rosa could do better than these insipid, bitter blends. Still, setting aside the food, this is a welcoming, lively place to rest shopping-weary legs. The server gave us a nice table with space and a good view for people-watching, and friendly service. A good time at da Rosa!

We wanted a quick dinner and since Le Soufflé was busy, we came here. From the outside, there were only a few diners. Red flag number one. Walking in, there was an Iberico ham leg on the counter and we seated ourselves. After what seemed like a long wait for a server to come by, we finally managed to put in our order. We had pain au tomates, slices of Iberico ham which came with a salad and bread, Norwegian smoked salmon and for dessert we had chocolate cake with Crème anglaise. The food was meh and I don’t know what happened with the food but SO ended up getting a fierce case of food poisoning so I’m giving it 1 star.

THISRESTAURANTISTERRIBLE! Horrible service and somehow even worse food– the meal did not have a single cooked vegetable and the«salad» was € 9 and was just lettuce and dressing. HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE food!

Pretty solid tapas. I hit this up for a brief bottle of wine and a quick bite to eat. It was great sitting on the sidewalk enjoying the late evening weather. The service was really friendly, helping to suggest some wines, particularly from southern France, that I would have not normally considered. Though it was a brief visit, I definitely would consider dropping by again.
