I am in complete agreement with the review by Happy Moose Drinking. Rue Cler for me is under-​whelming.
Despite the breathless description that American travel expert Rick Steve’s writes and videos about Rue Cler, it’s not the most authentic nor varied market street in Paris. I find the venders on Rue Cler to be arrogant & not friendly. I guess that behavior is appropriate for the local clientele of retired governement functionaries, old established upper class families, and other high society folk who live in this arrondissment.
My apartment is in the 5eme just a 300 meter walk from the Rue Mouffetard open air market at Rue Censier. I find that the produce at the daily market on Rue Mouffetard is fresher, the butchers have better cuts of meat at lower prices, the bakers have better tasting breads & pastries, and the wine shops carry labels from small producers at low prices.
Rue Cler? I suppose that I’m not a 7eme kind of a person. The 7eme and Rue Cler is a little too chi-​chi for me.

Malgré la description d’Américain Rick Steves (un expert celebre de voyage) écrit a son guides de voyager et en son video de Rue Cler, je crois que ce n’est pas la rue du marché la plus authentique ni variée à Paris. Je trouve le vendeurs sur Rue Cler sont arrogant & pas amical. Je devine ce comportement est approprié pour la clientèle locale de fonctionnaires de governement retraités, de vieux familles d’aristocratie confirmés, et les autres hauts gens de société qui habite en le 7eme arrondissment.
Mon appartement est dans le 5eme juste un à 300 mètres à pied de marché en plein air de Mouffetard à Rue Censier. Je trouve que les produits au marché quotidien sur Rue Mouffetard est plus frais, les bouchers ont de meilleures coupures de viande aux prix plus bas, les boulangers ont le meilleurs goûter pains & les pâtisseries, et les magasins de vin portent des étiquettes des petits producteurs aux prix bas.
Rue Cler? Je suppose que je né suis pas un 7eme type d’une personne. Le 7eme et rue Cler est un peu aussi precieux pour moi.

Was a little disappointed with this little street after what I had heard about it.
Sure it is a lively little street on a Sunday and the feta cheese crêpe I purchased was very tasty, but I just don’t think the market is all that. Sure there are a few interesting stalls outside some of the shops and cafes but you’ve walked past them all in no time.
Probably an interesting place to shop and visit if you live nearby but not worth making the effort if you live further afield or if you are a tourist.

Ein Bummel durch die Rue Cler, nicht weit vom Eiffelturm entfernt, das siebte Arrondissement, das reichsten Viertel der Stadt. Die Preise auf dem Markt und in den Geschäften sind dementsprechend hoch, doch dafür kann man die Jugendstilhäuser in den Straßen bewundern und dort einkaufen, wo es auch Politiker und hohe Beamte tun.
