Quand j’y repense, je me dit que j’aimerais bien les mêmes burritos à Lyon, ceux que tu manges avec les mains, bien enroulé dans son petit papier d’alu. Dans leur toute petite boutique, on prépare devant vous ces mets mexicains.
On a pris un boeuf braisé et un porc mariné. Pour ma part, j’ai trouvé que la garniture était bonne, il y a avait des morceaux de viande et le tout était bien assaisonné.
J’ai presque un peu peiné pour le terminer mais au final j’ai bien aimé.
Il y a aussi des tacos et ils né prennent pas la CB. Après on peut se poser tranquille le long du canal saint Martin.

Après l’adresse de Pigalle testée en février
, c’est un samedi soir vers 22h que je me suis arrêtée à la maison mère d’El Nopal. C’est vrai que cette taqueria-​là est minuscule, juste la place d’entrer pour commander.
Tacos, burron, torta, campechana, tout est préparé minute et entièrement maison. Cette fois-​ci j’ai opté pour la campechana (tortilla de blé avec fromage, boeuf mariné, avocat et nopales=cactus), et mon conjoint a choisi les tacos. Toujours pas déçue par la justesse et l’équilibre des saveurs. On sent le savoir-​faire, pour des plats copieux et délicieux. Mon conjoint dit qu’un vrai mexicain se reconnaît par sa commercialisation d’horchata, eh bah voilà il a été conquis.
Le cadre, l’équipe chaleureuse 100% mexicaine, et bien sûr la nourriture m’ont fait voyager en territoire aztèque.
Mon coup de coeur: la nourriture
Mon astuce: Les jours de beau temps, déguste ton mexicain au bord du Canal Saint Martin.

El Nopal c’est une minuscule échoppe d’où émanent des odeurs alléchantes. C’est également une équipe souriante, parlant espagnol et servant de la street food mexicaine, à emporter, copieuse et rassasiante.
Mais n’aillant pas une grande culture de la gastronomie mexicaine, j’ai voulu goûter le cactus et ai donc choisi le campechanas (fromage, bœuf, avocat et cactus). Mauvaise pioche!
Le fromage, sans gout mais trop présent, inhibe tout autre ingrédient. On né sent que le gras de la viande et du fromage donc. Aucune trace du cactus…
Coté positif: c’est facile à manger dans la rue et la sauce pimentée relève un peu tout ça.
Bref, j’ai goûté mais c’est pas fait pour moi…

I can appreciate the fidelity this small hole in the wall joint serves for being open 10 hours a day.
on the other hand, a few nicks at this place that made me subtract a star for their rating.
1 there’s no place to sit. easily this can be solved by sitting alongside the waterway, but it was already cold and tired from the walk, ready to eat.
2 the tacos aren’t superb, mediocre at best. certainly better than chipotle, but far from the familiar authentic taste of tacos I have at home run by Mexicans or King Taco in Southern California.
3 this place was far. I mean I had to go out of my way to try this place, which turned out to be nothing big. at the same time I appreciate the existence of this place and the hard workers, as they were able to cure my nostalgic craving for flavors of home. at the same time, I can’t wait to run back home and have some authentic tacos.

Absolutely excellent food. If you’re in Paris looking for Mexican food, do yourself a favor and skip O’Taco and come straight here instead. Service is quick enough, the people working here are always very pleasant and friendly.
As others have mentioned, don’t expect to sit down. Within eyesight is a nice waterway to sit alongside, though, with benches. It’s also not far from Gare de L’Est – I can say from personal experience that it’s worth heading out for the burritos in the winter, even if it means eating them in the warmth of the station.

Finally a taco hole in the wall! How come we don’t get these tiny places in London. Crying out for one for a late night snack. Loved these tacos. Got a bit of everything and they are good. It’s decent and not on par with LA ones, but to be expected. But good effort!

I’m from San Diego, so it’s pretty difficult to impress me with mexican food! With that being said, El Nopal is probably the closest you’ll get to authentic tacos in Paris. So if you’re craving it, definitely check it out. Be warned, they only take cash.

La parfaite taqueria et au bord du canal saint martin pour né rien gacher! On adore y venir (on a déjà écoulé plusieurs cartes de fidélité). Tout est fait maison: les tortillas, les nachos, le guacamole, burrons, tacos, quesadillas… Le meilleur de la cuisine mexicaine à emporter. On aime tout! Attention le burron: petit estomac s’abstenir!

Youhou ! J’ai enfin fait El Nopal, ça date un peu au alentour de Juillet mais c’était tellement bon que j’en ai un souvenir toujours aussi vif ! Et c’est même pas à cause de leur sauce épicée.
Alors drôle déjà, j’avais El Nopal en vue depuis quelques temps mais je savais pas du tout que c’était petit et qu’il n’y avait pas de placer pour se poser. Enfait j’ai du confondre avec l’autre taqueria. Mais c’est pas grave, on a tout le canal st martin pour chiller tranquille un petit bout de mexique dans la bouche.
Bref, C’est bon. Que dire de plus.
Les tacos sont excellents, ça a du gout chaque produit s’exprimer par des saveurs différentes qui se mélange bref c’est l’explosion festive à la Tijuana dans la bouche.
Le prix, petit oui petit prix ça fait plaisir.
Et ils sont rapide il y’avait quand même 3 groupes de personnes devant moi mais on a tous été rapidement servis, j’ai même pas eu à sortir mon portable.

I’m from Texas, so I’m pretty experienced when it comes to Mexican and Tex-​Mex food. If you’re from America, this is a decent alternative for some Tex-​Mex in Paris. Don’t expect any heat from the food.
Burrito is decent. I had the steak but chicken would probably have been better.
The quesadilla I would not recommend as much.

Quelle idée d’aller manger mexicain quand c’est la canicule à Paris? Je né sais pas. Mais cette idée m’a été proposée par une amie qui m’assurait de la qualité de ce restaurant. Restaurant? Pardon? Un comptoir sur le seuil de la porte, qui abrite une cuisine d’environ 6 m2, unique solution, prendre à emporter. Un peu cher pour les maigres tacos que j’ai retrouvés dans ma boîte en carton, dont un qui s’était d’ailleurs littéralement décomposé, le rendant impossible à manger sans fourchette, car on né m’en avait évidemment pas donnée.
C’était très mal parti, et alors que je m’apprêtais à manger quelque chose du niveau d’un kebab, j’ai été (très) agréablement surpris par la détonation de saveurs provoquée par la première bouchée. Woaw ! Épissé, parfumé, fondant, étonnamment léger, un réel moment de plaisir à déguster sur le canal St Martin ! Une vraie surprise qui a donné beaucoup de charme à ce moment au bord de l’eau.
Je mets donc un 5⁄5 à cette soirée, qui bien qu’elle ai commencé sur un «flop», me laissera de très bons souvenirs…

Alors, là je plaide coupable ! Ca fait plus de trois fois que j’y vais et à chaque fois, je suis persuadée d’avoir déjà écrit mon avis sur le famous El Nopal. Et en fait, non !
Il fallait vite y remédier ! Hier, dimanche, après une fin de week-​end entre copains au bord du canal, mon frigo est désespérément vide, et un burrito nous semble être la meilleure des options !
Ca tombe bien, El Nopal est ouvert, mais attention, il né l’est pas tous les dimanches soirs, ça dépend de plein de choses, les horaires sont un peu au petit bonheur la chance.
J’ai déjà testé et validé leur burrito au boeuf mariné, du coup, je pars sur le végé. Mais, malgré l’étroitesse de l’endroit, ils proposent également du guacamole, des tortillas, et autres spécialités typiques des vendeurs de rue du Mexique.
Attention, je le redis ici, ils né prennent pas la CB, donc pensez bien à prévoir de la monnaie, les distributeurs né courent pas les rues dans le quartier.
Mon burrito végé, est bien costaud, avec du riz, des aubergines, courgettes, tomates cuisinées. Et une sauce pimentée pour relever le tout ! Pour les gros appétits, et les petits budgets, c’est un super plan. On s’en sort pour 17 euros pour deux burritos.

El nopal, c’est vraiment l’endroit où aller pour se manger un bon burrito !!! Toute petite boutique au bort du canal, on peut pas y manger sur place, mais si il fait beau on peut se poser dehors en buvant une bière en attendant notre commande. Bön faut pas être pressé, c’est souvent blindé (de gens sur le trottoir) perso j’ai une préférence pour la torta sorte de burger mexicain hummm un régal !!!

I’m not sure if hipsters in Paris love tacos or if Paris is simply full of hipsters but the crowd around this hallway of a taco stand was quite interesting.
Even if you’re not into tacos go for the people watching.
I had a chicken, barbacoa and chorizo taco as well as the quessadilla all of which was quite tasty. If you’re in the area give it a shot totally worth the wait.

Food WAS good. Tasty, spicy, well-​done Mexican. But I wasn’t enamored for three reasons:
1. I wanted to sit down, and on a yucky day, El Nopal isn’t a good idea because you stand outside waiting for your food, then you’ve got to find somewhere else to sit.
2. My friend asked for guacamole, and they said they didn’t have it! Who doesn’t have guacamole??? With creates of avocados sitting in the back? Silly.
3. Prices were so-​so. Once you add a drink/​side, it’s not so cheap for Mexican food to-​go.
I’d recommend El Guacamole or Café Mexico for a better experience as they were sit-​down, with a bigger menus, for the same price!

It’s been almost a year since I’ve had legit Mexican food and I finally had to go and try this place. Got three tacos and a negra modelo. The tacos were so good. The pastor was excellent. So much flavor and just well executed. They were simple, but still had the essential accomplices like lime and salsa. The salsa isn’t really like it is in California usually, but it was still tasty.
I am so impressed with this place. I will definitely be back!

hands down the best mexican food you will find in Paris. I’m from Argentina and was a bit frustrated for not being able to find a single good mexican place in Paris. Too bad it was such a cold and windy night, because good weather will make this place perfect to grab something to eat by the canal. Tacos and quesadillas as awesome, the real deal! Friendly staff and more than reasonable prices. I will come back many more times during summer that’s for sure.

El Nopal est la référence mexicaine à Paris.
Impossible de déguster sur place, la commande se fait à l’entrée, El Nopal né fait que 10m2 à tout casser. On a le choix entre tacos avec tortilla faite maison (devant nous, rassurant), burritos farcis de viande, riz, haricots, fromage, de tortas qui sont des espèces de sandwiches au pain de mais et autres mexicanisades.
En viande le choix se porte entre poulet chipotle, chorizo, chicharones, boeuf, porc effiloché donc carnitas.
Je choisis 3 tacos à 7e (deux bouchés chacun!), un au boeuf, puis chorizo et chicharones qui est une espèce de peau de porc comme une couenne, on y ajoute un trait de citron puis j’ai ajouté une tranche d’avocat (oui oui une seule) pour 1e, ce que je trouve un peu cher et en plus il n’avait aucune saveur.
Bah ça fait l’affaire. mais j’étais déçue. Il n’y a pas de quoi retourner Paris pour ces tacos. Je n’arrive jamais à retrouver les saveurs des vraies taquerias à Paris et c’est vraiment dommage.
L’équipe elle est super sympa, parle l’espagnol ce qui me fait sentir comme à la maison et en plus elle prend le temps de bien te conseiller!
Quand j’aurais une petite faim de mexicain sur le pouce, j’y retournerai, mais c’est tout.

Cette petite taqueria est vraiment minuscule.
C’est un petit boui-​boui vraiment au bord de la route sur 2 m2 de surface et ils servent de très bon fajitas, burritos et tortillas.
La nourriture est simple et copieuse pour un prix très abordable. Les serveurs sont joyeux et accueillent avec le sourire.
Pas mal ! A recommander, si vous êtes dans le coin et que vous voulez manger sur le pouce, tout en vous dépaysant!

Heavenly! I always tell people one of the few things I miss being away from California is real Mexican food… now I have found my fix. These guys are legit. I had the 3 tacos (7.70 eur) and friends had the burritos (8.90 eur)…we were all more than satisfied. The chicken, carnitas, and chorizo were cooked to perfection. As I write this, I am craving some more. But beware, this literally a hole in the wall. All orders are takeaway so if it’s cold out, you better think twice about enjoying the goodness on the canal. (I’m sure after the winter it’s a perfect way to spend time on the canal). I asked the guy taking my order (from Monterrey, Mexico) about the history of the place and said that his friend came to Paris a few years back and realized there was need for good Mexican food. They also said they have plans to open a place in Pigalle. Can’t wait!!!

I simply love this place. I love next door and come here regularly. Just a kitchen and a counter. No sitting, heating, toilets… Just badass Latino food. There is a tiny ledge outside if you wanna eat there and have a few beers. But the best is sitting on the canal! I this place.

Le lieu est minuscule ! Juste la place d’entrer pour commander. Spotify chantait en espagnol et les 3 gars à l’intérieur sifflotaient en même temps, c’était marrant.
On a pris un burron (au bœuf mariné), un campechanas (idem) et une gordita (au porc).
Je né m’y connais pas du tout en cuisine mexicaine, mais j’ai bien aimé. Bön, ce n’est pas du 5étoiles mais le rapport qualité/​prix est correct. Petit moins sur le porc qui était très gras, mais le bœuf était pas mal.
Les prix ont augmenté par rapport à la photo du menu mise par Audrey (8,90 pour le burron, 7,70 pour les campechanas, 3,50 pour la gordita. Un jour j’aurai un smartphone et je pourrai prendre des photos.)

Service sympa et hispanisant. Nourriture fraiche et pleine de gout.
Parfait pour une ballade le long du canal été comme hiver (les sandwich sont chaud). Les quantités sont largement suffisantes.
A noter: tous les sandwich se déclinent en format veggie. Trop cool.
Les points negatifs :
— j’ai pris un sandwich avec du fromage fondu, c’etait bon mais méga fat. Perso la prochaine fois j’éviterai.
— les prix des sandwich veggie sont les même que ceux avec toutes les viandes. Un peu exageré quand tu payes 7,5 euros la verdure !
Mais quoi qu’il en soit je recommande carrèmenent pour tous ceux qui passent dans le coin !

Déçue à cause de mon choix?
En quête de cuisine mexicaine, j’ai fais quelques recherches sur Unilocal,et me voila devant El Nopal dans le 10e.
J’ai choisi le (la?) campechana, des tortilles de blé avec du boeuf, fromage, avocat et nopales (cactus!!)
C’était bon, mais sans plus… Et pour vous avouer, j’avais encore un peu faim après…
J’y retournerai probablement pour prendre un truc plus «fat», comme le burron.

By the wayyy they raised their prices! so it is not as cheap.
Also they have a weird rule where you have to get three different tacos, so no three chicken or two chicken and one another. THREE totally different tacos.
The tacos were good as it gets in Paris and at 7.5 euro it is not really a meal more of a stop to eat.
The staff was very nice and I was pleased.

Great food at a great price. Ordered tacos (carnitas and 2 others that I can’t remember) and a burrito for the two of us. Delicious and filling. I could have gone for a little spicier, but we are in Paris so it’ll do. Plenty of food and a great meal to have by the canal. Next time I plan to go a bit earlier so I can try their aqua fresca — they had sold out by late afternoon!

I rarely give 5 stars. Expect a wait as they make tortillas from scratch. Well worth the food. The gorditas with carnitas and chicharrones are my go to. No room to sit and eat so grab the food to go or hang outside in the street while standing. Tacos are great, while the quesadilla and campechana had a bit too much cheese for my taste. Wash it down with some Mexican importer beers (Bohemian!)
Will seek his place out next time I’m back in Paris. They are looking to expand into food trucks so look for that.

Il faisait beau à Paris un samedi, l’idéal pour manger dehors un bon burritos.
Mon copain et moi faisons donc la route jusque El Nopal Tacos & Burrones. Surprise, c’est juste un petit local où une famille prépare en live des plats mexicains avec en fond des musiques latines. J’étais transportée en Amérique du Sud, j’adore !
Je commande un burron à 8 € 90 au poulet, et mon copain teste au chorizo maison.
On s’installe au bord du canal, sur un banc, au soleil. Les burrons étaient délicieux. Par contre, mon copain n’a pas pris de sauce pimentée en plus, pensant que le chorizo l’était déjà, or il n’est pas du tout pimenté, dommage. Néanmoins il était vraiment bon !
Mon copain, fan de poivrons, était un peu déçu car ils n’en mettent qu’avec le poulet.
Malgré tout, on s’est régalé et on était rassasié !
Je n’ai pas mis de 5e étoile, car ça reste un snack à emporter donc c’est à tester que si vous n’habitez pas loin ou s’il fait beau.
J’ai regretté aussi qu’il n’y ait pas de guacamole dans les burrons, c’était uniquement en supplément.
NB: ce qui m’a fait rire, c’est qu’ils demandent votre prénom pour vous appeler quand la commande est prête. Avec leur accent d’Amérique latine, c’est trop chouette !!
NB2: les boissons né sont vraiment pas chères (1 € 50).

Oh my goodness. Oh my goodness. El Nopal, thank you so much for existing in this city.
I’m from Southern California, so when I lived there I pretty much subsisted off of tacos, burritos, enchiladas and nachos. When I moved to France, I just came to terms with the fact that I was leaving Mexican food behind for good. Then comes El Nopal.
Let me tell you, there might be other «Mexican» restaurants in the city that are «ok Mexican for France,» but El Nopal is the real deal. Essentially a non-​movable taco stand, they serve perfectly flavored tacos and burritos. My favorite tacos were the carnitas and asada.
There really isn’t anywhere to sit, but on a nice day, you can just go to sit by the canal. Who cares where you’re sitting, though; you’ll be too busy sitting with your eyes closed, letting the carnitas melt in your mouth.
It was so good and nostalgic that I was giggling the rest of the day after my first visit.

Who would have thought that you can get good Mexican food in Paris?! I didn’t until I tried El Nopal. We got the Pastor Tacos and they were delicious. The tortillas were rolled out by hand before grilling. That was very cool to see. The Pastor meat was very interesting; nothing like I have tasted before. The Carne Asada burrito was also yummy. The salsas were exceptional and really elevated the food.
The owner and his side-​kick were a good duo. They were super friendly. They actually came from Mexico, so they definitely know the food should taste. Definitely worth a try.

C’est petit. c’est coloré, ils sont sympas, j’ai été bluffé. D’autant plus que les deux mexicains qui préparent les tacos ou autres Burrón, fabriquent leur propre tortillas de maïs sous vos yeux!
J’adore voir les légumes frais qui trônent sur leur comptoir, mais surtout découvrir a chaque passage les subtilités de leur décoration! Bien que ce soit très petit, beaucoup de détails sont dissimulés un peu partout.
La carte est franchement typique, j’y ai constaté la disparition des burritos. Mais c’est pas grave, les Burrón c’est mieux. J’ai aussi goûter au Campechana, un délice avec le mix de cactus/​fromage.
Si vous avez de la chance vous pourrez vous attabler sur le mini comptoir intérieur ou extérieur. Ce qui doit bien faire une capacité de 5 personnes. sinon. direction le canal.
Que de bonnes choses, et un réel changement par rapport à l’offre des restaurateurs aux alentours.

Just moved from San Jose CA where Mexican Food rocks.
I’m thinking their has to be a business importing pinto beans, cause the local beans just don’t cut it. Besides that — it was great.
Pollo Loco Burrito… nice to have after too much French or Italian… which seems to be 80% of Parisian cuisine.

This place rocks.
This is a great place to go on a nice day to grab some tacos/​burritos to go (well there is no room to stay so you have to take out), some Bohemias, and then go over to sit and eat next to the Canal St. Martin or the Jardin Villemin — and bring your friends!
You will not regret it.
It’s a hole in the wall with enough room inside for you to enter, order, and pay, and for them to make you a delicious burrito or some tasty tacos. If you have not been yet, go. The guys are from Latin America — I believe at least one is from Mexico and accordingly their hot sauce is dangerous — but awesome.
These are my favorite burritos in Paris — hands down.
