I wish I could rate with half stars. This one warrants a 2.5 Before you read the review below the quick one is: Go somewhere else, there are a lot of choices and this one is absolutely a pass. Food was average, passable. The service was awful, and we are very easy going and not demanding in any respect especially when they are going the extra mile to speak English and assist with our poor French skills. However, we saw multiple times the wait staff arguing with at least two tables regarding sharing. In addition because of it’s location they literally chase people who go and use their bathroom which is located downstairs if they are not eating there, and make them pay. All of this adds up to an uncomfortable experience. Our waiter kept on forgetting what we ordered and the meal took hours. I will say we did see pretty deplorable behavior in the other direction as well. A table of «typical Americans» giving us all a bad name, arguing about the sharing fee, and complaining about the Wifi not working. I was quite embarrassed for all of us but the rudeness did go in both directions.

If I could rate this place negative stars, I would. This place is such a ripoff. First, we came to have a light snack, and the waiter asked if we were going to sit and drink. We said yes, so he led us to our table. He arranged the tables and chairs for a party of four, but when I moved one chair, he told us not to move anything in a very rude tone. Seems like they are really picky about the seating arrangements. We planned to share and order only a few dishes and drinks, but he told us that sharing was not allowed. Everyone was required to order one dish and one drink. Is that a rule? We should be free to order what we want, right? I seriously don’t understand why we HAVE to order like this. When my wife went to see the crepes, the waiter pointed at her and shouted, «Where are you going?» After that, the waiter told us to stand up and leave quickly. I guess the whole place heard the waiter say this to us. We felt like the waiter was being extremely rude only to us. I feel very offended and I will never come to this place ever again.

Decent little café in the shadow of Notre Dame. The location is cool and the staff is really friendly, but beware of tourist trap prices. A 50cl draft beer will run you 11 euros.

Cold and rainy night in Paris so we dropped by for for a several glasses of vin chaud. The mulled wine was perfectly spiced with a great view of Notre Dame across the street.

best street crepes in Paris! they were the first and the last on my week there… and should’ve been all of the ones in between! can’t speak to the restaurant… never needed more than a crêpe on the street!

Definitely one of the BEST street side crepes I had in Paris! The chicken and cheese, nutella and bananas, and cheese crepes are AMAZING! We always come back here whenever we visit France! Love it, Love it, Love it!

We really enjoyed it. It was packed but they found us a table. The menu is vast. The kids ordered a hotdog and a crêpe which both looked delicious. The four adults at the table had a savory crêpe — it was good and a decent amount of chicken but could have done with a sauce or something… I had a chicken salad and added feta to it… divine. Perfection. The other two had soup, which was really good and an omelette which was enjoyable. We also shared some yummy fries(which were forgotten but they were run off their feet). No house wine, apparently that’s not done in France. The food was delicious and the service was really good. I’d definitely go back.

I came here to grab some sandwiches to eat while waiting in line to go up the Towers of Notre Dame. Got a Mixte sandwich(ham and cheese) and a Nordique sandwich with smoked salmon. Sandwiches were fine, and served the purpose of avoiding starvation. The Nordique sandwich was better than the Mixte, which had regular supermarket cold cut ham and cheese. Sandwiches were reasonably priced for takeout.

I can’t comment on the food but the crêpe stand outside is outstanding. Nutella and Coco crepes here are the BEST!!! Highly addictive. I crave them back in the states. Even in Paris, I was obsessed with street crepes and no other crepes compared. Best in the city.

Esmeralda is a typical street café and restaurant located near Notre Dame, but off to the side down a quieter street. Followed a group of colleagues there for a beer and a bite to eat. Menu is standard fare… a little pricey, but about on par for anyhting in the vicinity of the Cathedral. I signed on for a Mixed Omelette. Ham and cheese. Served with a small salad on the side, it was respectably sized and was quite delicious for 8 €. A glass of 1664 was 7 €. Yikes. Just to the side of the main entrance co-located with the Gelato stand is a a take-out sandwich counter of Esmeralda’s. The same sandwiches are on the sit down menu for about 50% more, so unless you need to sit down… you might as well just use the take-out.

DIRTY and AGRESSIVE customer service. Waiters are so concerned about their turnover that there are unpleasant, pressing clients, and kick you out of the table to place other tourists. a disgrace to the image of Paris.
