Espace Gourmand

They have no bathroom, they have no manners, they gave me no receipt, a total no no, they clearly don’t like foreigners, Their rudeness — they give parisians a bad name. I mean, I was TRYING to speak French people…

Staying close by in Le Marais and wandered in on our second day of the trip. Got two Croque Monsieurs, a slice of lemon tart, and a framboise shortbread to go. The woman who helped us was pleasant and tolerant of our limited French (she could speak/​understand English). She heated our Croque Monsieurs and all the items were individually wrapped in paper. Ate all back at the apartment and they were all delicious.
Next day we tried the croissant, chaussons pomme, and pain chocolate for breakfast. The chaussons pomme was my favorite of the three. The croissant was good but not the best I’ve had. Again the service was very pleasant and welcoming. Also, the shop is of decent size if you are put off by some of the tight spaces in some of the food stores.
Note: The awning just says «Boulangerie Patisserie». The name «Espace Gourmand» is on a small brass plaque by the front door.

Situé en plein coeur du Marais, dans la grande et célèbre Rue des Archives, l’Espace Gourmand est une boulangerie de quartier.
Boulangerie aux bonnes patisseries et au bon pain certes, mais pas seulement, elle offre également une petite terrasse souvent ensoleillée quand le temps s’y prête bien évidemment.
On peut donc y choisir un menu pour environ 5 Euros et le déguster en terrasse plutôt que debout ou seul sur un banc.
La boulangerue est tout à fait en évidence dans la Rue des Archives et pourtant personne né semble avoir l’idée d’y aller, car la terrasse est très souvent livre et il y a donc souvent de la place pour y déjeuner tranquillement.
Les sandwhichs et tout le reste sont bons et pas cher. Courrez y !
