Gedoub

Excellent !
Un très, très bon resto en plus très agréable, à l’ambiance cosy et sympathique. La nourriture est excellente et le personnel charmant. Je le recommande vivement. Sûrement à tenter aussi en hiver quand la cheminée est en route.

Highly Recommended
My wife, 11 month old son and mother-​in-​law had just arrived in Paris on holidays from Australia via the UK and were staying just around the corner from Gedoub. Looking for somewhere close and not too expensive to eat we ventured into Gedoub. We were fairly early and the place was empty but inviting and warm with the open log fire and nice aromas coming from the kitchen. Our hostess (I’m sorry I’ve forgotten her name) welcomed us in and showed us to our table next to the window, dismissing the fact that I had just knocked over her bicycle trying to manœuvre the stroller through the door. We chose a beer, the house pinot and a localish chardonnay after tasting several. We all ordered the lamb seasoned with fresh herbs and garlic served with beans and potatoes which arrived after the complimentary vegetable soup. Both of which were delicious, hearty and filling. The pinot was one of the nicest both my wife (a very fussy wine drinker !) and I have tasted in a while as we had several glasses each, not all of which we were charged for. All in all, I can highly recommend this establishment. It was nearly like eating in someone’s home such was the warmth of the hospitality. Unfortunately we did not get another chance to dine at Gedoub again but when we were leaving, we were walking past and our hostess rushed out to say goodbye and wished us a safe journey. When I’m next in Paris, Gedoub will be top of my list to visit again.
