Don’t know why this place doesn’t have great reviews. I ordered the lamb shank and it was superb! It was falling off of the bone and very fresh! Our waitress was very attentive and they have WIFI! The menu could be a little better as far as diversity and variety goes. But hey, they have Coke in a bottle!!!(Real sugar not High Fructose Corn Syrup!)

27 dollars for two lemon waters and a coke. 18 for an over cooked burger and stubbed-toe French fries. Cheesecake was too thick and the crime brûlée, while flavorful inside, was topped with burnt sugar. I know service is slow for Paris and the restroom really needed much closer attention. When reading the reviews I was certain the negatives must be from grumpy people. Now I can see why. We went on a food tour today and has excellent fare. It had the kind of offerings I would expect from a Parisian restaurant that seemed like a fun place from the outside. I was hoping the last meal j had in Paris would be a good one. This certainly was not.

Don’t order the beef filet. They gave me a terrible cut of meat-I chewed on it for hours! My friends enjoyed their ribeye steak and tuna steak. Escargot was decent

If you’d like to just read the paper, enjoy a half hour in the terrace or inside, you could have a better chance bringing a takeaway coffee to the Alma Marceau metro station nearby. on first smell, the restaurant smells like piss. I figure the toilets must be near by, but to get there you go en bas(downstairs), where the stench is even more pungent. Neither of the toilets in the Ladies has a seat, and the very degradation of the entire room makes you wonder if touching anything you might contract something. That thought stays with me when handed a sticky menu, and I wonder if boiled water is even hygienic here? I opt for a hot chocolate, because they have to do that right, right? At least they think they get it as right as Laduree, charging 6.50 €. Could I spell it out that only under absolute dire and desperate circumstances, and while under some pretty wild delusion of being desperate, should you come to La Grand Corona. Corona must mean Toilet in French slang.

Do not make the same mistake we did. If you are not French, you will be stereotyped and have bad service. The food is horrible.

The waiter was very curt and slow even for french waiters. My wife had the french onion soup and enjoyed it. I had the duck breast in cranberry sauce and it was not good. The duck was tough even though it didnt seem over cooked.

This is a very busy place, in the middle of Paris. It’s not difficult to get a table here, but the café is full of people. A lot of business folk, having a lunch. We dropped by, since it was the first good-looking place for a lunch. Immediately after entering the door, actually before entering the door, the waiter greeted us and quickly showed us to a table. The english here is either poor or at «point and mumble”-level. Tiny table with the chairs turned to get maximum view of the fantastic city life outside. Yes, it’s a little tourist trap, but the food(I had chicken salad) tasted terrific! This was the first place we visited in Paris, so we thought the prices was outrageous, but after eating several more places over the next days, we discovered that it’s not very expensive here.

Beware! Huge rip off! Had ice tea with lunch & they charged us 45 Euro for 3 glasses! Because it wasn’t on the menu, they knew they could charge whatever they wanted. Total Scammers!

I had the worst experience in this place. The’ve just kicked us off because one of my friends didn’t want to order anything. The service is really bad. Do yourself a favor and look for other place.

Absolute tourist trap. If you speak English, they will give you an English menu with limited offerings and inflated prices. This was an expensive lesson.

DON’T MAKETHESAMEMISTAKEWEDID! Tourist trap! Waitor convinced my wife and I that tip wasn’t included and it certainly was. The waitor was quite a piece of work as he took a 10 minute smoke break just a few feet from our table while we waited for drink refills and then demanded a 10e tip for his so called service. The food is flavorless and WAY overpriced!

If you came to Paris searching for ratatouille then you are in luck… This place has MICE! Plural! So many and so well established that they are comfortable coming and running by your table on their way towards the kitchen. I told the waiter, and he came up with a crazy excuse to shrug it off(that the restaurant is located near the river and metro stop). I’ve never seen mice in a restaurant in Paris before. There’s no excuse to have them in a restaurant, EVER. So, don’t eat here. The drinks are way overpriced(11 euros for a pint, 6 euros for a demi). So, don’t drink here. For Paris, you can do much better than this dump. Skip this place, definitively.

This place should be closed. My two friend and I got a plate of oysters which were clearly rooted. Unfortunately we ate several and two girls have to go to hospital. We kept check and thinking about of legal actions.

A bit pricey for lunch, but darn their food is pretty amazing & healthy! I came here with 2 other friends and I ordered what was the cheapest full meal: the Corona Salad. I must say, I was amazed. First, there was a ton of smoked salmon that I couldn’t finish it. But then, the dressing on the salad was amazing and the greens were extremely fresh. PROs: they had an english menu, service was good and fast, food is rather healthy and refreshing CONs: expensive!

Great location in a busy corner across from the Seine. Beautiful, big salads topped with fresh veggies and smoked salmon. I regret not getting one, and instead opting for a disappointing club sandwich. Prices are reasonable and the people watching is great(but you’d be hard pressed not to enjoy people watching at any Parisian café). The crowd was a mix of locals and tourists, although at first glance I thought it was a tourist trap. Staff was very friendly and accommodating to us English speakers. Service slowed down when it was time to get the check but this is the norm in Paris. Random weird thing: I loved the hot pink toilet seats in the ladies room!

A éviter !!

Well, this was as awful as it gets. If you want generic, tasteless, overpriced — even for Paris! — food to go with your terrible service, then by all means, head on in. If you have even the slightest urge to NOT have your evening ruined by such atrocities, then give this restaurant a wide berth. We spent a handful of euros on some prepackaged food at a local supermarket after our dinner here, and it was better than the sad, lifeless meal Le Grand Corona inflicted upon us. My wife was given a charred, flavorless steak(not once, but TWICE), which matched perfectly with my meal of soggy vegetables and soy sauce. Uninspiring is an understatement. Our waiter was utterly dispassionate and uncaring about our plight, to the point of arguing with us that a brick of beef-flavored charcoal was ‘very fine’. Please. It was hardly meat at that point, let alone the ‘medium-rare’ that had been ordered. My wife would like to add that«It was barely beef-flavored.» Let’s wrap up this cascade of failure by pointing out the fact that a Coke here is six euros. Think about that for a moment. Everywhere else in Paris, you can get a soft drink for 1 – 2 euros, maybe 4, MAX. This is thievery so blatant, it makes your head spin. Avoid this place at all costs. It’s every negative stereotype about a French restaurant you’ve never wanted to encounter, all rolled into one.

This is a pretty standard café where we stopped for a mid-morning coffee. The reason I’m writing in is because the hot chocolate is great — you get a little pot of real melted chocolate to stir into a carafe of hot milk, and it’s delicious. Not the kind of place you should go out of your way for, but if you happen to walk by, it’s well worth stopping in for a chocolat chaud.

We did not eat here — only stopped for a glass of wine after shopping at the Marché du Pont de l’Alma(open air market) on a Saturday afternoon in September. Nice weather, good service and decent wine at a decent price. Nothing special, but no bad wine … which should just be a crime in France by the way to serve — I’ve got the name of a couple of brasseries they should shut down due to the swill they’re serving …

My sweetheart, Natalie and I had the most wonderful time at Le Grand Corona… service was better than any eatery here in the US… truly was the best deserts one could wish for… and the total air of the Corona was… so relaxing. charming and warm. We went twice… once for desert and returned for a fantastic dinner. I know there seems to be millions of great places to eat in Paris… very true. but the Corona really impressed us and had to make a second visit for what was our last night in Paris before returning to Northern California. Natelie and I so love Paris…8th time for me…2nd time for her and wanted to comment on our special time eating at the Corona. Price was not an issue. when it comes to the great food… wonderful service… the price is secondary. We plan on a return to Paris soon… and look so forward to our next visit to the Corona… we give it 5 stars… you have to give this place a try. its within walking distance to everything.
