Husband and I stayed here for a couple of nights in late August. We are frequently in Paris, and depending on the length of our stay, we either do hotel, crash with friends, or rent an apartment. I’ve always wanted to stay on Ile St Louis, so this was perfect. Our room was comfortable and clean, on the courtyard side, so nice and quiet except for a couple of guests in a room nearby who spoke VERYLOUDLYNEARANOPENWINDOW – the sound carried right up to our room. But that is not a problem of the hotel itself, just thoughtless tourists. The area has many great cafes and creperies and shops nearby, is very busy during the day, but nice and quiet at night. We’d stay again.

My husband and I stayed at the Hotel de Lutece when I wanted to visit Paris during New Year’s Eve 2004. So glad we booked the Lutece as the staff, from the beginning, had been so helpful to us. They promised that we would get one of their large rooms if there was availability, and when we arrived one of the rooms was indeed available. Lovely. It overlooked some roof tops and so on but was like our own private sort of pied a terre. It was actually one of the triple rooms so we had a bit of an extra space where the third person’s single bed was. So the room was a good size. And this was before they did their lovely renovations. It was all very cozy to come back to ‘our room’ in their house(hotel). There was a nice fire in the entryway of the hotel. Our breakfasts were so nice as they were serviced by a kind woman named Shanti who has been working for the hotel for many years. The location could not have been better. We could walk one direction to the Marais and to the other side to the Latin Quarter and St. Germain. So miss staying there…

Don’t be scared by my picture!!! It is a private joke and I am more like a regular hotel customer. I stayed there for the first time a couple of months ago, and had a fantastic experience. The fact that we were in the heart of Paris was a special treat. The staff was marvelous, and the quaint atmosphere made it all. I would highly recommend it.
