Hôtel des Arts

Wir waren im Januar 2013 dort. Für den Preis von 80EUR für zwei Doppelzimmer exkl. Frühstück kann man für Paris echt nicht meckern. Die Zimmer waren sauber aber recht klein, zudem weichen die Bilder der Homepage stark von den tatsächlichen Zimmern ab, in denen wir waren. Allerdings muss man dazu sagen, dass gerade ein Umbau stattgefunden hat, und wir waren in der sechsten Etage. Die Handwerker waren in der zweiten Etage im Gange, so dass die Zimmer der sechsten Etage ja vielleicht irgendwann manl so aussehen wie auf den Bildern. Freies WLan war schon mal ein Bonuspunkt um Roaming Gebühren zu sparen. Das Frühstück war jetzt nicht so der Brüller, aber man ist satt geworden. Die Lage war gut und die Metrostation schnell zu erreichen. Eine große Einkaufsstrasse ist fußläufig zu erreichen. Alles in allem also wirklich ok und jederzeit gerne wieder.

For a 2-​Star hotel I would definitely give it five because:
1. It was clean.
2. Door staff were friendly to my non-​French speaking self.
3. Beds/​pillows were remedially comfortable.
4. Did I mention it was clean?
Of course, the room was tiny and I have multiple bruises from knocking my legs into the bed and the room was a little chilly at night but hey, I got a hotel room in Paris for 60 Euro and didn’t walk out with a crazy skin rash or insect bites (see: Croatia).
The location is superb with the Charonne station literally 3 blocks away, nice selection of decently priced cafes and bars within walking distance and central-​but-​not-​touristy location.
Definitely could recommend for a budget minded but not dirt poor friends or couple wanting a couple nights in Paris. After all, you just sleep there right?

This place looks alot more amazing on the website than it is in reality. The images really get you excited and the price seems too good to be true, but it’s not all that bad. It is good value and it is very central, two minutes away from the metro and 5 minutes walk from Place de la Bastille.
I read many reviews on it before going that stated that the hotel was very clean, however I was slightly disappointed as there was a used towel in the bathroom when we arrived and the shower wasn’t at all spick and span.
The staff are very friendly and helpful and they will look after your bags if you need to check out in the morning and your onward travel isn’t until the evening.
